I want to love this store because it is such a great concept but they don't actually follow through on the customization that you request and pay for. I ordered a dress, selected and paid for my customizations, they even phoned me to confirm and then the dress arrives and the customization hasn't happened. I contact them and they are sorry that I am frustrated but I am stuck with a dress that is no use to me. No recourse at all.

I would like to leave a review on the eShakti site for the two separate orders I've placed but there is no way to do so. Both times I went to the site to review but the dress was no longer on the site. Gone! A while later, returned dresses in the same style showed up on the "Overstock" page. Again, no option to review.
The first dress I ordered just wasn't flattering. It fit okay and I really liked the fabric. So decided to try to make it work. But would have been nice to read a review or write one letting others know they might have same issue.
Second dress I customized with a request that the low neck be raised slightly (no alternative necklines offered). I followed up order with an email to be sure they got the special instructions. Received positive response. Again loved the fabric and happier with the style BUT neckline was not adjusted as requested and the arm holes are a little to tight, making the dress just a bit uncomfortable. Again, I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it but not something I would have purchased if I had the opportunity to try on first.

Great concept, poor execution. Too bad.

I've bought 2 dresses from eShakti and both arrived around 10-15 business days (I had mine customized) at high quality. However the sizing was off by a full size if not more. When I ordered the first dress, I ordered it one size up because of the design of the dress & I wanted it more flowy. While it went on my body, it was too tight. The 2nd dress I ordered 2 sizes bigger because I loved the first dress and had a lot of hopes. It still was a bit snug but wearable. I would order from them again but ask for custom measurements because I think their standard ones are just sized too small from American designers. They also have no stretch to them like a lot of American garments, The ones I have are plain cotton and require ironing. I also agree with others that the skirts are too short even if you give your height and ask for the length. I know i've said a lot of bad things but I really love the styles and quality but you just need to make allowances for the shortcomings I've listed and then I think you'll get a dress you love.

I had bought my daughter an eShakti dress a few years ago for her birthday. She loved it and this year returned the favor for me on my birthday!

We both received our new dresses in time for a wedding we were attending. Her first dress did not fit well and she did not like the material so they replaced it immediately and not extra cost with another dress. The second dress fit well and looked great!

They take a little longer than usual to receive as they make them per order but the materials and craftsmanship are well worth the cost (which is comparatively very reasonable!). I love the pockets and the full-figure size. The dress is well-made, flattering and easy to dress up with pearls or dress down with a cardigan.

I am a plus size and my daughter is a regular size and both dresses fit comfortable.

Will definitely be ordering more clothing from them!

I had absolutely no issues ordering my dresses. They took about 3-4 weeks to arrive, I assume bc I used custom measurements. One dress I absolutely loved, but the other was unflattering when I tried it on. It felt as though I was wearing a jean blanket.

I emailed the company bc I had trouble finding the online return slip, but received no reply. I called the next day and the customer service rep seemed annoyed and spoke with a tone as though this is something I should already know. Needless to say she was very unhelpful, so I stumbled my way through the return process and am still awaiting my refund 2 weeks later. Good customer service goes a long way. Not so sure if I'll be purchasing from this site anymore.

You may have a bit of trouble if you return from Canada or use some types of promo codes; you may not receive full " replacement value". Having seen so many wonderful dresses & had many friends show me thier awesome dresses, I finally gave Eshakti a try. Now, I measured very, very carefully & I will add that I have made my own clothing so I know the tequnique for measuring properly for dress making. I received a very well constructed garment, on time & with no additional taxes or fees. BUT- it was cut a bit wrong, & being a corset style top it gaped and was unwearable. I checked the measurements against what I provided and it was cut to large. The "chest" was 42 instead of 39 and high point bust to waist was 18, not 16 etc. Okay no problem, I will mail it back. I pay Canada Post 13.67, they take it by horse and cart (seriously, it takes ages!) and Eshakti refunds onto a "gift card" or promo code. Perfect BUT: the value of the dress I ordered was about 56. USD. I used a first time order promo code for $30 off + free customization. But my refund was only for $34.50! They do not allow the amount of the promo code so in other words, I now had to pay shipping plus and extra $23. USD app. To order another dress of the same dollar value! In other words my $56 USD dress will cost over $106. USD Because I have to pay the $30 coupon value, the customization fee $9.95, return shipping 13.67, shipping +tax+customs= about 21.00! A real hassle. I will order again but be very, VERY sure of liking it because it ain't going back! Also, you may want to avoid corset style tops, tight sheath styles (the fit must be very accurate), patterned fabric that must be matched to look right (plaids, checks?) because even if Eshakti makes the error you will pay in the end.

My original review here has 15 helpful votes, has been seen by quite a large group of people, and I kept returning to Eshakti faithfully for ALL my clothing needs for the past year. HOWEVER... my last 3 experiences have been brutal. I live in Canada so the return policy is impossible (it's better to just keep the dress rather than to lose out on the customs and shipping cost as they expect you to ship the dress back to them on your dollar as well.) I have to pay half the cost of the dress in duty fees and shipping... even though I have "free shipping" for my "prestige benefits". My entire closet is Eshakti. I literally only wear this company's clothing and have treated myself to a new addition to the closest monthly for the past year. They have been a ZERO in the customer care end of things. If they care for a customer that only wears their clothing like this... then how will they treat someone who only buys one dress. We all deserve to have common curtesy, something Eshakti has seriously lost as of late. They are getting bigger and forgetting where they come from and who they rely on. Also... when you post a review of a dress on their site... they rarely even post it on their website, even if it's good. They are not being honest. They are getting too big for their britches. I am a former fan. Won't be buying again unless serious changes are made and that's a terrible shame.

I have five dresses from e shakti that were customized for me. I am thrilled to be able to have dresses with hemlines, sleeves and necklines as long are short as I want without being dictated to by the latest fads. I am finally able to dress in the way that suits my body type Style without following the pack! The customer service is great also. The only downside so far is it take a couple of weeks to receive your dresses and if the feeling is not quite right the first time then you have to return them and it takes another couple weeks. For someone like me you can only get what they want by doing this it is well worth it and the wait is not that bad.

I ordered three dresses from eShakti. Two were a standard size, one was a custom size. (I wanted to see the difference...) I would definitely recommend going custom. I've never had a dress fit me so well! One of the dresses was sewn a little askew and didn't sit right on my body. I emailed customer service and told them about the issues I had with the one dress. And while I never received a reply, I did receive a replacement dress in the mail today! It fits perfectly! The only problem is - since I never heard back from them... I went ahead and paid a local tailor to fix the first dress... So now, I have two... (And paid for alterations!) I wish communication had been better, but the products and the no-questions-asked replacement were exemplary.

I ordered from EShakti several times and was very happy. My most recent order, however, will be my last. I ordered 2 dresses and customized both using the same measurements. One dress fit well but was not attractive - not at all like the picture. I will take the hit for that one as I know that is part of the risk of buying online. However, the second dress did not come close to fitting. When I measured, many of the measurements were several inches smaller than ordered. I contacted customer service for a return. They sent the return ticket with the notice that they would not return the customization fee or shipping fee. I contacted customer service given that this was CLEARLY their error, not mine. I tried contacting them both by both phone and email. The phone representation was just rude. The email contact person ignored my issue entirely and simply sent return instructions. I returned the ill-made dress and got what I could for it but I will not order again.

Size are perfect, quality of cut and sewing is fine, beautiful garments and great prices.
I am very impressed particularly by the fitting of plus sizes dresses and shirts. I don't remember having bought clothes that fit so perfectly. FINALLY someone somewhere understands plus sizes! Thanks eShakti!

This is a great site. I have ordered 6 or 7 times, and never had any issues. It does take about 2 weeks (up to 3) to get your order depending on how much customization you want... but they are made-to-order dresses, so what do you expect? I have also processed a refund and it took a week to get it processed and back in my account. Not bad at all. I dont have any issues with the company, I would suggest ordering a size up as they are a tad snug. I wear a 10/12 and find that I am a 12/14 in their dresses.
