If I were reviewing eShakti based on product alone, this review would be 5 stars. The truth is, I love their clothing. I love how I look in it. I love how it feels.
But, that simply isn't enough for me to want to continue doing business after what just happened to me.
I placed an order on 4/20 for my baby girl's christening on 5/21. Like others, I was told there was a delay and was given a $10 gift card, which now feels like a slap in the face. Here it is, 5/22 and I'm still dress-less. But there's more...
I contacted eShakti by email a few times and even spoke to a customer service representative who assured me that it would be here on time. I also want to point out, that none of them seemed to care much about my situation, which was also disheartening.
Buyer beware. If you're not looking for a special occasion and can wait for an EXTRA LONG period of time, then this site is for you. But don't put your faith in them for something like I did. I was left scrambling for another dress at the last minute (a dress that I know would not have looked anywhere near as beautiful as the one I ordered and couldn't wait to get).
I think it's funny that someone who claimed to be a blogger got a full refund on their ENTIRE order. I wonder if any of you other ladies were given that courtesy. I sure wasn't!
Please, eShakti, consider doing business the right way by alerting your customers up front about the delays. What I and others have been through is just completely unacceptable and inexcusable.
Jennifer, we share your pain and frustration. We note that your order dated 20th April was delivered in 3 shipments, the last one being delivered on 22nd. We are sorry, there have been undue delays on clearances as well, due to which your subsequent orders, though dispatched, have cleared customs only now, and will be delivered within the next 2-3 days. None of this makes up for the fact that we have failed in delivering on time, on our service. We are refunding you the cost on the dress that was delayed unduly. We are sorry, we promise to do it right by you in your next order with us.
I have ordered 6 dresses through eshakti. Three of the dresses were absolutely perfect! One was an overstock dress, so it was not customized but it was beautiful. One of the dresses was not a good fit at all. The return procedure was AMAZING. I logged in my reason for the return on their website and returned it with their prepaid label. I received a generous gift card almost immediately which covered all the costs of the returned dress. I have found customer service to be very responsive, so for those that had a problem, I believe eShakti listened to its customer's complaints and improved their processes. For those who complain about the wait... yes, you should expect 3- 4 weeks to get your garment, but seriously, where else can you get such inexpensive custom made clothing to flatter all shapes and sizes?

I have been ordering from EShakti for a year now. I'm a "platinum" member because I've spent so much money! Unfortunately, like other reviewers, my orders are now very slow to arrive. It used to be 12 days from order to my home in Canada. Their customer service has always been quick to respond and very helpful but they have perhaps not been able to keep up with the demand. It's my fault. I tell everyone about them and how amazing they are. And I look awesome in their clothes.
Their products are lovely and worth every penny for a custom made item, but if you need it for a specific event then plan ahead. I now give myself 2 months in advance.
Also, DHL has a service called On Demand Delivery where, once you get your shipping notification, you can give permission to leave the package in a specific spot. Saves a lot of headaches. Just google it.
Don't be too discouraged by the shipping time. It's a reality of demand outgrowing the business and means that more and more women are loving their products. They just need to adjust the way they do things.

My first order was for two dresses with custom sizing & modifications, received them both in 12 days and love them both. Well made, perfect fit and easy to maintain by washing on delicate & hang drying. I just ordered another dress for a wedding I am in and it too is exactly what I was expecting/hoping for. This order came 2 days later than expected which wasn't a big deal. I don't like that the tracking information is never accurate, but all in all I've had nothing but great experiences. Fingers crossed it continues.

They got back to me within 2 days and fixed my error. Now I just wait for my dress. Still have fingers crossed but happy with the response to my ineptitude when ordering.

Lots of reviews about questionable customer service but I decided to risk it. I was careful about my selections but when i looked back at my order one of my requests was not logged. (I wanted sleeves added.) I put a message into the customer service center. They state I will hear back in 2-3 days. Fingers crossed.
I ordered a dress on 4/29 with an expected ship date of the 16th of May. Two weeks seems reasonable. I purchased this dress for my son's out of state graduation thinking that ordering in advance I would be fine. I guess I should have read the reviews before I purchased. They sent me an email like all of the rest of you with a $10.00 gift coupon stating that because of "delays" it would be an additional week for shipping. That is not enough time for my son's graduation. You would think that with all of these delays that they would have figured this out by now and done something about it so that new and returning customers would have confidence in their product. I bought a dress from this company because I have heard such nice things about the dresses, and my son picked out the dress as it matched his school colors. I should have purchased from the other company that I saw a suitable dress from and saved my self the worry and aggrivation. Eshakti you have lost a customer... I am teacher and I wear dresses everyday to school and I thought I had found a site that I could purchase my clothing from.

I read many reviews BEFORE placing my order so I knew to expect a longer than stated ship time. I ordered on April 18th for an event I have on May 15th. Four weeks seemed like the recommended advice since it was double what the website advertises. I was delighted to get a shipping notification two days ago saying it would arrive on Friday. Well, just like EVERY OTHER REVIEWER, it is stuck in India in customs limbo. I can't imagine it will arrive by Friday on this coming week (May 12th) and now I am out $121 and have to go find a dress for my event. I have read so many good things about the clothing but I am not going to pay money for items that may or may not ever arrive. The $10 gift card they sent me more than a week ago because of and "unexpected increases in orders" seems to be their standard line. Why don't they just update their website and be honest and say allow for six weeks? So disappointing.

I agree, the actual quality and fit of the dresses are amazing! I actually got my dress quicker than expected, and I would order from again, and again- but expect possible delays due to volume and location. I am 6' tall and have a hard time finding nice dresses that will fit when I wear heels. I love this company's effort to expand their style, but it seems like they have shipping, tracking, customer service issues.

Ordered on 4/13 for a wedding on 5/6. According to DHL, was supposed to receive on 5/3 (today) and lo and behold like every other review on here, my package is stuck in custom in India. So, now I need to find another dress and pay for that on top of what I've already spent. I do fashion blogging... with about 600-700 hits a day, I'll be sure to mention the poor customer service (no responses to email or phone messages).

I enjoyed my experience shopping with them overall. The two dresses I ordered are beautiful. The quality is really good and the value is exceptional. But my order was 'delayed' from the original ship date. At some point I think I even forgot I had ordered the dresses it took so long. From the website I did not realize they are shipping from India That would have discouraged me, so I am glad I didn't know, lol. I will order again because of the quality and price. If you are going to order from eShakti please give about double the time given on the website so you are not disappointed.

One item was missing in my shipment, and it took an entire week and a half before customer service responded to the three emails I had sent regarding it. I was told it was shipping separately and that I'd receive a confirmation within 2 days... which, a week later, still hadn't arrived. I emailed again and have heard nothing. Beautiful garments, but truly awful customer service for a site that seems to pride itself on customer service.

Very similar to another reviewer, I ordered two black dresses in hopes of wearing one to an event. I wasn't sure which style suited me better, so I erred on the side of being able to choose. Turns out instead of two dresses, I got zero. I studied eShakti's website in detail before ordering, to be sure I understood production and shipping time. I ordered with ample time to spare, or so I thought. I got an email from them stating that they were behind schedule due to an increase in demand and they offered me a $10 gift card as an apology. I emailed back right away to say I had no use for a gift card and could they be more specific about when my order would ship, that I had a hard deadline and that if they couldn't meet it they should cancel the order. Thus began more than two weeks of back-and-forth communications, culminating in a weeklong delay in customs in India (I didn't even know they were located in India! If I had I might never have taken the risk), and that put the nail in the coffin of my ever getting the dresses in time. Funnily enough, on the day of my event, the customs delay mysteriously lifted and my package moved from New Delhi to Hong Kong, presumably on its way here. But by then it was too late. I told them to cancel my order and opened a ticket with PayPal to say I was owed a refund because I never got what I ordered. They were shockingly fast at issuing the refund, which is the only thing they did right. They were also lightning quick on intercepting the package, which had finally reached the US on the day they refunded my money. The mystery dresses are now on their way to their returns center in Washington state, having never been seen by me. A smarter company would have eaten the cost of the dresses and offered to let me have them as a gesture of goodwill. Worth noting: eShakti uses DHL as a carrier, which is the very worst of the worst, as anyone who's ever dealt with them knows, and this says a lot about the company. I have no idea about the quality of eShakti's materials or the workmanship of their clothing, as I never received my order. And of course I will never order from them again, and I will spread the gospel of their incompetence everywhere I go.

UPDATED 5/2/17: The dresses actually did arrive on time. Interestingly enough, as soon as I wrote this review, the dresses were finished and shipped the following day.
The dresses are beautiful and they fit great. I wish that Eshakti had better customer service and would respond to emails, but I will probably purchase from them in the future, as long as I have 6 weeks to wait.
I placed an order for two dresses. The date given on each of the listings gave me plenty of time for my items to arrive in time for my black tie event - two weeks early, actually.
Last week, one of the dresses was said to be in "quality control." I sent a message to Eshakti asking them if they could please send the completed dress so I could wear it to the event even if my other dress wasn't complete. No response to my inquiry. And interestingly enough, now that dress is back in stitching.
Now, I'm less than 2 weeks from having to leave for this event and I've got little to no hope that my dresses will arrive on time.

I have bought 8 dresses from them so far. I love the quality and value. It is true that the shipping takes a while so I would allow 4 to 6 weeks. This makes sense as each dress is made to order but they could do a better job explaining it. The expected delivery date in the account is usually the day that they ship it I have noticed. Customer service is good and returns are easy.

Update: as of April 25 i have received my dress! It is beautiful and it fits my body perfectly! I am so happy about this. Still not happy about how long it took to get here, does not fit with the dates according to the web site. If I order again, I will be sure to plan ahead. Original review: I found a beautiful dress the on eShatki site and I placed my order on April 2nd with enough time (10 days according to their website) to receive the dress by Easter. Easter has come and gone and no dress. I did contact customer service and did receive an email with a $10 gift card attachment. I will be very hesitant to use my $10 gift card because I still haven't received my first order yet. I finally received a tracking number from DHL and have tried to track it for many days, the site said to expect my order by April 20th, April 20th has come and gone and according to tracking the shipment is still in India. I would think long and hard about ordering from this site. EShatki has pictures of many beautiful dresses and if all you want is pictures - this is the site for you! If you want to actually wear a dress, I advise shopping elsewhere. If I could give them less than a 1 rating I would, because I still have no dress and when I call they want me to leave a voicemail and not speak to a customer service representative. After many attempts I finally reached a customer service rep and she told me to check on the status of my order on my account and unlike Amazon they not update you with emails tracking the status of your order.

I ordered a skirt and a dress on March 31 for my birthday April 20th. To date I have not received either. The tracking # given me promised the skirt would be delivered by COB 4/19 to no avail. Now DHL says the item can not be tracked. Yesterday I was told that the skirt had cleared customs and I should receive it in three days. As for the dress it was still in India. I did get a 10 gift card but I am very disappointed and reluctant to order from them again

The shipping was much slower than expected but I allowed for that. The dresses I purchased were both custom and there were a few very small issues with fit, but nothing major and all easily deal with. I plan to shop with eShakti again.

I ordered a dress planning to wear it for Easter. I ordered it with enough time to get it based on the 10-12 days they said. However, I still have not gotten the dress and Easter is already over. I also want to wear the dress for my college graduation--its the main reason I bought the dress. I got an email saying the order is delayed and got a $10 coupon for a future order. Why would I want a coupon to order from them again if I can't even get my first order I'm the time I want it? If I don't get this dress before my graduation (next week) I am going to be very upset!

Answer: I have been ordering the standard sizes and they are true to the measurements posted. No matter what you put in your height, so the length is always spot on.
Answer: Purchase a dress that is made with the knit fabric. It is flexible and much more loose feeling than the other fabrics. If you do decide to add inches to the measurement, I recommend only adding 1-2 inches AND only add those inches where you like it loser. For example, measure your arms true to size unless you like it a bit lose. Measure your waist true to size unless that is where you like it a bit lose. But honestly, I think you will find the knit dresses to be the best if you dislike tight fitting clothing! I also am not a fan and those are the dresses I wear most often! I have bought other styles, so I have other fabrics to compare it to.

Even adding a deisgn I requested to Fabric Customisation. Winning! I have only had to return 1 dress and it was easy and I got a full refund. I am in Sydney, Australia and my orders always arive in 10-14 days without fail. You can track the progress of your order online.
Answer: From my experience, In most cases the products are made in the featured color and fabric. There are some items that are offered in different colors on the site. As for the daughter, I suggest using the measurement chart and submitting it to see if it can be accomplished.
