The company enjoys a strong reputation for exceptional customer service, with numerous reviews praising the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency of the staff across various locations. Customers consistently highlight the smooth rental process and the quality of the vehicles. However, some concerns arise regarding staff training on company policies, leading to occasional issues like unauthorized charges and vehicle maintenance oversights. Overall, while the majority of feedback reflects high satisfaction and a willingness to recommend the service, addressing training and communication gaps could further enhance the customer experience.

Six phone numbers and two email addresses over a month of time to pay a simple invoice. WHEN I could reach a person by phone, they were unable to take a payment or even refer me to the proper link to make a payment. Phone numbers provided would have a recorded statement "there are technical difficulties, high call volume and no one in the office to take your call... try again later". Absolute joke. One number provided to me from the customer service number I called was the number to a nurse that had been awakened from sleep 6 times because Enterprise had given out her number as the accounting department number for Enterprise. Again... what a JOKE! I do not recommend this company to anyone! The only reason I finally could make the payment was because I went online and found a site that had a form to fill out with your concern/complaint. Amazing I received an email the next morning with a number (worthless, already tried that) and a link. The link took 3 times to finally accept the payment. DONE!
Andres Villanueva is awesome.
He waited on me when I picked up the rental and when I returned it two weeks later at Midway in Chicago. Both times he was on it with a smile and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Andres was waiting on two people at once, when I picked up the car on June 4th as there were only 3 people working that late in the day (my plane was delayed)
This guy deserves a pat on the back or better yet... a raise!
Thanks Andres

Worst customer service… one manager say some. Other one comes and says can't do what manager say, and changes the whole deal and try to charge more and then be rudeeeeee… super bad customer service… just trying to hustle… won't recommend this place even for free.
To begin my experience, all was well they were even able to move my reservation up at the last minute for me. But when I arrived for my scheduled pick up I waited quite a while for someone to come help me. Then 2 people came in from outside and were able to assist me. Then I had to wait for the car to be cleaned. All was fine on my trip with the vehicle other than it saying it needed an oil change, which seems to happen to me every year I make this trip. Not a problem. However after returning my car I was called and had a voicemail stating I was going to be charged for 300 dollars because there was dog hair all over the car. There was never an animal ever in the car. So I got very upset of course. Now there was sand in the van but I didn't realize when I pay 1700. 00 dollars on a rental that I was going to need to detail it when I returned it, which is my fault I'm sure somewhere in the small print on the pamphlet they gave me it says something about it. I just wish I would have known the car was to be returned spotless. So I could have avoided this whole mess. After 3 different phone calls I was able to be refunded 100 of the 300. But I will never go through enterprise again after that. I don't pay extra to have my housekeeper clean my hotel room when I leave.
Unbelieveable that a RETAIL OPERATION CLOSES AT 5PM. Most people pick things up AFTER WORK. BUSINESS MORONS CLOSE ON SATURDAYS=BIGGEST RETAIL DAY OF THE WEEK. I WILL BE CAR SHOPPING. THERE ARE CARS FOR SALE. YOU ROUTED ME TO YOUR COMPETITION.
There customer service was not helpful they looked for any way to charge or withhold money I don't recommend them to anyone
They don't always have the type of car wanted. Their deposit is somewhat high compared to other companies. Most staff is professional and congenial. Cars are usually clean. Other than the high deposit I would recommend this company for your rental needs.
I needed a mini van while mine was being repaired. I filled out everything online, agreed to cost, etc for a mini van. My teenage son is disabled so I needed a vehicle that would accommodate a large car seat & wheelchair.
I dropped my van off & Enterprise had a truck waiting for us! No back seat even! The lady at repair shop called Enterprise & explained the situation & told them we needed a mini van. 2 hours later, Enterprise pulled up with a Rav 4... too small for what I needed. I called Enterprise myself, the "regional manager" wouldn't listen & kept talking over me, demanded my credit card number. By this time I wasn't about to trust them with that information so I just had a friend pick us up. Absolutely horrible customer service! I'll do without a vehicle for a day or two before I'll do business with them!
We arrive to pickup our car rental just to be told there is no cars to rent. No one updated us in advance. We saw there was cars in the enterprise slots in the parking lot and saw six set of keys laying on the counter. We question the customer service rep and was quickly told the only car rental was hertz with a very high marked up price. We were also told other people were also looking for a car rental because they were told the same thing.
After arriving home called our credit union to have a credit issued back to our credit card and points put back into our account. I expressed the person we were dealing with should not have been a customer service rep at enterprise. Our credit union reached out to enterprise to find out the person we were dealing with did not put any notes on the revservation and should have canceled.
People beware of using Enterprise use another car rental company not them.
Our local ones are complete teams of blacks not one of another race. I had to have my car towed and it was scratched by potts towing... The driver reassured when unasked how do you plan to tow it with.no keys. He said in good at what I do... Then he dragged the car to the left and right. Back and forth. He scraped it up onto his truck. These blacks scared of the koon driver blamed me for his poor work. $500
I rented a full size suv over the weekend. I picked up at Atlanta airport location. Day before having to return car from Florida. I was exhausted decided book a one/way instead returning to Atlanta airport. Decided call and see if was possible to return to Pensacola airport. Agent quoted me the price and noted to return to Pensacola location airport. I returned and following days later after received a bill for the one way. Plus I was charged an additional $700. I was never notified that the one way was not approved at any time. I had to call and see what I was charged for. They have very poor communication. There was no communication what so ever that I could not return the car as a one way. I was told no refund because Atlanta airport does not approve one ways. Do not rent with a company with such low standards.
Worst time of my life. We had ordered a minivan a month ahead of our trip. Two days beforehand they called and said they never got the minivan in because of memorial day weekend. They upgraded us to a V8 armada. Then while driving we noticed the gas meter wasn't moving and the only reason we noticed is we ran out of gas. My dad had to walk three miles to a gas station. Then they said they would trade us out for a dodge caravan. That would have been perfect for us. We're a family of 5. Two adults and 3 kids. Our 13 year old is not your average sized 13 year old. So we drive up to pick up the caravan and turns out they lied. They gave us a dodge journey. This does not fit us at all. My son is cramped and very much uncomfortable. 0 stars would never recommend
On vacation, the side door of our rental van would not close. We had 3 children in car seats and could not go anywhere since the door would not stay shut. Needless to say, Enterprise did not care. AAA towed the van, no replacement from Enterprise for a day and a half. Called Budget, got a vehicle in 20 minutes. We will NEVER use Enterprise again! Loyal customer for over 10 years and this is how we are treated. I wouldn't even give them 1 star, but I had to pick one.
Rude, and that wasn't even the worst problem! Called them a week in advance to specifically book a car for my needs of my disabled son. A car! Not an SUV because we can't load him and in higher sitting SUV.
I was called the day before and told nope they didn't have any cars for us because someone didn't turn one in?
Unbelievable! This little Enterprise car place doesn't have more than two cars on the lot at most times... it's in Columbus Ga Bradley Park.
They hung up on me and I went to the second Enterprise place which was a huge mistake as well.
Was told they would have a car ready immediately the next day I booked it. Showed up the next day and was met with only SUV options. I'm not sure how hard it is to walk out to your lot see what cars you have and guarantee a customer they can pick that car up in the morning? Seems really simple. Because it is. Why is it always a guess of what car you're going to get and if you're even going to get a car?
I would be embarrassed out of my shoes if I worked for Enterprise rental car and was reading these reviews guess that's why they have a 1.8 out of 5 star review and have customers leaving...
that's just sorry business practice and an owner and corporate who doesn't care.
I will tell you the two ladies I spoke to at the second place we're very professional and courteous.
Thanks, Ralph
I was told by enterprise employee to leave vehicle at Carmax and they would contact nearest location to retrieve. Received call about a week later telling me there was damage to vehicle. I am supposed to pay for damages because they did not pick up vehicle until 3/4 days later. Now on din not rent list. Customer service at it's finest!
My complaint is about the business at the corner of Ogden Avenue and Aurora Avenue in Naperville, Illinois. When I reserved, online, my rental, I was led to believe that I would only pay $95. When I came to pick up my rental, I was led to believe I would only pay $65 plus $30 for the liability insurance. I paid a $300 deposit and was promised to have it refunded when I returned the vehicle. When I returned it, the next day, I was charged over $150 and never did get my deposit back. This is dishonest and unethical. Unless I am compensated, I will never do business with Enterprise again. I work hard for what little money I make and do not like being ripped off. Besides, why are all the rental agents men?
I have rented from Enterprise US and Enterprise Europe for years, with rental periods exceeding one month each year. The Enterprise Europe experience has been excellent, with clean cars and excellent contract terms.
This review is regarding the Enterprise US operation, and specifically vehicles rented from the Boston location.
I have recently rented a premium car for a six week period and had several issues which preclude me from ever renting from Enterprise again, and advising others against using this company (who also operate under an umbrella with Alamo and National).
1. The car was handed over dirty inside and out, with trash under seats, in the console, and in the trunk.
2. The car, while relatively new, had a myriad of dents and scratches.
3. The car had less than half a tank of gas.
4. The main complaint is that the car received some minor body damage in a community parking lot for which Enterprise provided a severely inflated repair bill, which included additional charges which were not identified in the contract. The company was unresponsive to any discussion, negotiation of their fees.
As a result of this experience, despite being a "Gold Member" with Enterprise for many years, I will avoid renting vehicles from Enterprise US, whose level of service differs vastly from the highly-rated Enterprise Europe.
Enterprise Plus huh? I reserved a car and even got a confirmation number, (1966 *******, it's been a while but, I still have that confirmation sheet) the next day when I called to verify the confirmation (literally on my way out the door to go get the car,) it did not exist. No car, no confirmation, no confirmation number, no explanation no apology, no nothing. Needless to say I will be going to a competitor of Enterprise in the future.
Paid premium prices for car services discontinued on the last the of prepaid charges. Seem like a threat to turn in the car b4 I accomplish why I rented it.
1st time give price then double when arive insurance issue!, P.S. major credit card will cover, they did to several customers, 2nd visit messed up reservation had to pay extra for shady local rental which broke down, spent 2 hrs at airport so called buddy of agent. U.S. Headquarters no help.
Answer: They do not respond to complaints. Which is kind of frustrating when you have a complaint.
