DO NOT TRUST EHOST! Terrible TERRIBLE experience - just trying to sign up for a premium plan - ask a couple of questions - three phone calls, 1 online chat - AND NOBODY CAN ANSWER ANYTHING! I tried desperately to contact them on a Saturday morning, calling the number on this website https://www.ehost.com/ *******076 for some very basic sales questions, trying to find out if I had to use Cpanel if I wanted an e commerce website or if I could use a ready made template. THE GUY HAD NO IDEA. HE COULD NOT HELP ME - kept putting me on hold to find out the answers, but still couldn't answer that. I then went on to the online chat feature - THAT PERSON ALSO HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE MOST BASIC QUESTIONS! I tried again calling, reached someone in tech support/sales and he also had no idea! I tried calling again - the person I reached couldn't answer either.
I found another website for ehost.com, this one was https://vdeck.ehost.com/support/contact.bml which clearly has eHost.com on the top left hand side - CLEARLY belongs to them - this phone number was *******678 and THIS person also had NO idea how to answer the questions! WHen I wrote to ehost to complain, I explained that I'd only asked one of the agents for his name and location and I was told his name was Nigel, in the Philippines - then ehost.com tells me there is nobody in the Phillippines that works for them - they only work out of the USA! I sent them both websites and phone numbers - and they still deny this! I spoke to three people - I only asked one guy his name, Nigel, and asked hiim where he was - he was in the Phillippines - so how can eHost tell me this isn't them? When it clearly says eHost.com on both of these websites? The special offer I wanted for a basic ecommerce website was $2.79 per month for 3 years (it was dropped to $2.60 a month) - and the website says clearly that it includes ecommerce - yet when I emailed them to complain about the awful tech support or customer service, Steven (apparently the main person there) tells me no, it's over $10 a month! SO IT'S TOTALLY MISLEADING - I have no idea what's going on BUT I WOULD NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE. Then they tell me vdeck.ehost.com is a different company from ehost.com - yet both websites clearly have, same font, same logo, top left hand side, eHost.com! Just go to google and type in "contact ehost" and you'll see for yourself! IT'S THE SAME COMPANY! If they can't answer the most basic questions, what would happen if I actually had some technical support problems? If they advertise $2.75 a month and then when I want to sign up they say it's over $10 a month - why on earth would anyone trust them? I'd be better off asking a rabbit in a zoo for help. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
They have lied to me in emails then ignored the fact when I have shown the proof. They have taken money from me for services I did not ask for and when I asked for that money back they said it was not refundable. They basically stab you in the back and accuse you for not looking. Terrible experience.
I opened a new account on December 3rd 2015, then I opened a ticket to get my web sites transferred from my other hosting provider. I waited for days and contacted customer service 3 times but I couldn't get anyone to reply to the ticket. After 30 days nobody have done anything to solve my ticket so I could start using my account. After 30 days I have to cancel my account and request a refund. For websites that needs to be up all the time this kind of waiting time to solve a request is unacceptable.
I was with them for a month, and moved some where else because the support was non-existant! Had to wait over an HOUR to speak to someone, who then wasted another 20mins for a relatively simple problem, by telling me he couldnt help me and he`d have to get someone else to email me! Avoid
Non-UK btw-Philipines at a guess... so good luck calling them!
I bought a website host from this company. I paid them in dollars and used my Visa card. When the bill arrived in my account they had charged dollars as Pounds which added about 70% onto the bill. At no time was I informed about this and the purchasing inovice was sent in dollars.
I complained to Ehost and they said this was normal. I have never bought in dollars which were then converted to pounds. These people are CROOKS. They have been all over putting up wonderful recommendations about themselves. KEEP CLEAR OF THEM. I imagine they pull all sorts of scams on customers.
The website is very difficult to use and I am currently trying to cancel and get a refund. If I can't I shall be contacting Visa as what Ehost has done is FRAUD.
I signed up for eHost and registered a free domain. I tried to mange my site using cPlanel but it was stuck in an pending order state. After much time on the phone a support person revealed to me that it was bug that happens to about 1 and 200 people.
It has been over two weeks and I still have not gotten my money back and I cannot transfer my domain for another month and a half because I guess there is a rule that you have to wait 60 days before they will transfer it to another host
I wouldn't be able to tell anyone how good their service is since they seem too incompetent to even register a domain and create an account.
Its been a week and all the support staff can do is create tickets that do nothing.
Now to cancel, guess what? ANOTHER TICKET.
And it's no better than the first review...
I've long since left Ehost for their outstandingly terrible scam of a service. They use black hat SEO techniques to boost their visibility in search engines and seem like a reputable company with fake reviews. It's a trap! I went through the painful process of transferring domains away (which the only reason I signed up was for cheap domains), which ended up costing quite a lot to transfer to Godaddy and was one trick after the other with them. It's been well over a year and they're still harassing me with invoices, I owe them nothing. Had to cancel my credit card cause of them, they would not respond to cancelation requests. DO NOT give them your card and DO NOT be tempted to sign up with them. It's an absolute joke! I've worked with numerous Hosting companies and this is NOT even remotely close to descent.
I just filed a BBB complaint against this company I think I'm the 6th complainant this month.
They took my payment and denied hosting for a week. I dont even think they have well trained customer support available.
Scum. Were unable to get my site up. Period. After the 3rd call I bailed and went elsewhere. They still owe me a refund and refuse to pay. BEWARE. I would bet high that most of the reviews are phony. They blame the problems on the browser or other client issue to cover the fact they are incompetent. And then they stiff you and make you file complaints and card contests to get your money. They can keep mine, I'm going to let the world know what they really are.
The worst hosting package you can possibly sign for. They will charge your account without authorisation and if you have any complaint to make, they will run you through the process if creating a ticket and you have my word that no one will look at this ticket of over 2 weeks. You will have to contact them over and over and each time you will need to deal with a ROBOT agent who doesn't have any power not even the brain to solve the most straightforward case.
I should not be here posting this as this is so beyond me. Don't be fooled for the cheap price, I only migrated to ehosts trying to save money from Godaddy which was spot on, I wish I never did this...
And let's not mention that the money back guarantee is a trap that will lead you to the process I discussed above.
STAY AWAY FROM EHOSTS.
Really bad experience!
After paying for everything I realized they charged me wrong, but that is not the problem...
THEY NEVER ACTIVATED ME THE SERVICE... NEVER!
I contacted them many times, no reply or reply with no more than a "wait".
Every page recommend them but please don't the same mistakes. Just avoid.
I have ordered for A (one) hosting account at $79.20, however I have been charged for 3 accounts at £95.00 + £95.00 +£118.00 (GBP). They accepted the mistake however it has been more than 2 weeks and they still have not refunded me. Their billings dept can't be contacted on phone and the support team says one thing and billing team sends email completely different, I am so frustrated on they way they handle things and still not refunding me which was their mistake.THE WORST HOSTING COMPANY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM.
Do not use Ehost for a host to your website. They just lost mind and they only do 2 weeks of the website being active on their server before a backup is created.
I just lost my website! Not bloody good news! So, far I'm learning that they do not have technicians and supervisors who can do their jobs. Policy is to back up every 2 weeks. My site been active for 2 months. There is no backup.
Supervisor don't give call backs like promised.
There is no other methods to esculate but from the bottom and then you're put on hold for over an hour with no solution.
I registered for eHost's standard webhosting option and had terrible experience with making domain purchases through them.
1. They will charge you for privacy protection by default on every domain you purchase. Even if you unselect the option, they will still charge you. Since I purchases multiple domains through them, I have tried making the purchase on my laptop, ipad and Note 5 and got charged every single time after I "unselected" the privacy protection option. I told eHost about this and they simply close the ticket on this.
2. The way you purchase a domain goes like this. You use their search tool to search for a domain's availability first. Obviously, if the domain is not available you cannot purchase it. But beware! EHost sneak every available domain that you searched onto your shopping cart without ever notifying you. When you check out, there is no explicit ask for you to authorized these purchases. So, while you think you are buying one domain, you could be buying 3 others that you searched plus, remember, the privacy protection. When you complain about this to them, they tell you that the domain search tool is a billing tool so you get billed with the search!?!?!?!? Imagine you get charged for every item you search for on Amazon or Google? So, they closed my ticket and said no refund, end of story. Lololol... a total fraud! Beware!
This is a deceptive company. They are fraud, don't ever give them your credit card. They will abuse and put phantom charges. I have been charged without any approvals for unnecessary services.
I am going to move my WEB site to Square Space and take a loss of what I have already paid them, However, I will be filing complaint against eHost at my local civil court for complete refund of all charges. I don't like to do business with dishonest organization. This is definitely not a company you can trust.
Very quick to take the payment. Very poor at any kind of response at all. Would highly recommend avoiding these tosser's.
Same as Tony D. I live in Uk was charged double arguing all night with them its 4.45 am so pissed off. They scam money and hide the truth. Seriously hope they refund me and I will happily pay for my domain name if not I am sure I will think of something better for a future domain.
Purchased subscription on Ssptember 16,2015; cancelled on October 2. Still waiting for refund to be put back on card. At least one dozen different lies (refund date depends on my bank; funds already refunded; not sure what the problem was but refund has now been processed; ticket prepared but refund must be approved; unable to verify your identity, etc.) - every reason to hold on to $133.95.
I'll file a dispute with my credit card company and let them deal with that deception!
How do places like ipage and ehost who sell solely on pricing get top ratings when they don't come close to being a decent site with support.
The support at ehost totally stinks. It's too bad when you know twice as much as someone who's supposed to help you with an issue. Unforgivable waste of your time while you wait for them to look up their instructions. Then they offer to send you instructions by email. They act like it's their first day in business or just don't care.
