Took forever to pick up on 3/7/21 at 5pm. Rental with a free upgrade was a 5 year old 50k+ mileage car falling apart. Returned 3/15/21 & they would not provide a physical receipt, said it would be emailed & haven't received it over 24 hours later but see a credit card charge of 49.95. Called about the charge & said it was for cleaning & told me to have a nice life! SCAMMERS! Do not rent here!
Got to Ft Lauderdale Airport. 1 shuttle bus takes you to other side of airport. Then you have to walk all the way to the Economy van, to take you to their Building. So 2 shuttles, off and on with all your luggage. Finally you arrive at the Economy SHAK! Some badly in need of repair building. Walk up to get car. Agent suckers you into buying an EZPass for tolls. He said to me, and I quote, " You need this for tolls. When you leave here you will go over a toll bridge that takes no cash. If you dont have this, you will receive a ticket up to $300. The pass cost, with tax, $58. "
Well I left there, and never went over a bridge. In fact, the entire 5 days I was in Fla, I never paid any tolls! So that was a rip!
Beware, if you don't buy their inflated insurance, they put a $500 charge on your credit card.
The van and driver were nice. The car had no problems!
I am certain, I will not be using economy again. The price was cheap. You get what you pay for!

You can be sure I will not be using your service ever again. You are a bunch of cheats.
I reserved and fully pre-paid for a car, but when I got to the airport pickup desk, they wouldn't release the car because the credit card I used for the payment is not one of the approved ones. Never mind that I already fully paid for the rental and they accepted the payment. They wouldn't let me use another card, and most importantly they refused to refund my payment.

Allow us to inform you that initial payment can be paid with a debit, a credit card or via Paypal. Rarely the stations accepts debit cards and in view in the terms we advise of the payment requirements but also which cards the station will accept. In your reservation the driver had to present a valid credit card with enough funds for the payment and for the deposit. We do regret the distress however it is the customer's responsibility to check the requirements and provide the right documents and a valid credit card to collect the car.

This company stinks. I thought we were picking a car up in Cancun Airport. It turns out after an hour of frantically trying to get information we were shuttled to another car rental company Mex Rentals who claimed to know nothing of our booking with EconomyCarRentals and wanted to charge us double. They told us the 100USD we paid was probably only a commission. They were rude said it was our own fault for going cheap.
We thought we would get things sorted by contacting EconomyCarRentals, their telephone doesn't work and they didn't respond to our email. It's now day 3 of our holiday they still have our deposit and will not respond to our email. What else can you call it? Irma Cortes

We would like to inform you that as we can see your reservation created online by your side for the total cost of € 172,47 / £ 156,50.
You paid online a part of this cost € 19,27 / £ 17,49 and the balance should be paid locally.
As per a check we did on the final invoice and the signed rental agreement, this price was honored by the local supplier.
The difference in the rate is due to the addition of the extra insurance SCDW, which is subject to the local taxes and fees.
This is what was written on the rental agreement and what was signed by your side as well.
Kindly understand by the side of EconomyCarRentals, all the promised charges were correct and the relevant proof is already emailed to you. By our side everything was made as promised and as per a check we did a detailed explanation of the charges was given by our customer service for your reference.
We are in the car rental market for more than 10 years and we are proud to be a customer oriented company. When we are able to assist our customers, we put all our efforts to assist in the best way we can.
Please do understand though, that we are not in a position to say to the local car rental company (Firefly) that you do not accept the charges made, as you signed the rental agreement and they provided it to us as a proof of your signature.
