The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the quality of unique items and positive experiences with customer service. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns, including inflated shipping costs, poor communication, and issues with product authenticity. Many customers report dissatisfaction with the handling of returns and complaints, often facing unresponsive support. Overall, while there are pockets of positive feedback, the prevailing sentiment suggests a decline in service quality and transparency, leading to frustration among long-time users and potential legal actions from dissatisfied customers.

I have been buying jewelry from EBTH for a few years now and I have NEVER been disappointed! The pictures are great in the auction, but when I get the pieces in the mail they are even better in person! Everything always comes well packed and the jewelry is always high quality!
And if you ever have any questions at all. Just email them. And they respond right away!
Great online auction site! I have used several. EBTH is a favorite for sure!
With EBTH, you can pretend you're at a flea market or antique mall while online. I recently bought a sterling charm bracelet with: a 4-leaf clover, a harmonica, a camera, a scottie dog, etc. that's loaded with personality. I will enjoy wearing it. Items I've bought are generally well packed and arrive between a couple of days on up to 3 weeks.
EBTH's photos of sale items is clear and detailed. The bidding mechanism has worked flawlessly for me over several years of experience. There is nothing I wish the bidding site could do that it doesn't already do. The EBTH people must have put a tremendous amount of thought and experience into their model.
We have purchased several unique, high quality items from EBTH. Shipping is done promptly, and extreme care is taken to make sure the item you receive is in good shape. We've purchased pottery, jewelry and vintage clothing.
I have bought all kinds of things and always been more than pleased
Also jewelry has been a good investment. There is a little something for everyone
Received beautiful ring within days of winning it carefully packaged thank you so much can't wait to find my next treasure
I was able to get a complete set of sterling sliver flatware, service for 12, plus all the serving pieces imaginable, for an absolutely unbeatable price. I'd been lusting for it for years, and I don't know what I did to get so lucky! That said, I have to mention some complaints about furniture shipping. I'll never bid on furniture again. The first piece was a Victorian slipper chair that arrived with a broken leg and I had to send it out for repair. The second was a loveseat that was delivered with grease stains and no seat cushions. Third was an important piece of art that arrived with a broken frame. I really love almost all the items I've purchased, but EBTH has a problem with the folks who work in the packing shed -- it would appear that they have no appreciation for the value of the items they're preparing for shipment.
This is not the first time but it was definitely the last purchase from them. Be careful. Some of the appraisals are also false! I am still waiting on a refund since they (acc. To their own statement) do not find the item in their warehouse) - like I say, it was not the first time!
I don't like the way the time is extended 5 minutes if someone bids at the end. That is not fair. There is a place to put your maximum bid and if you are outbid and time runs out the auction should be over. Put your max bid at what you are willing to spend and let the clock run. No extension. And then I was charged double the shipping then what was quoted. I would have rated 5 stars if it weren't for these two complaints. With that said I have purchased many items over the past few years and have been very happy with them.
I did not know how to dispose of my old stuffs that are too valuable to give away but too hard to sell. I am pretty sure you have things like these. EBTH is the solution!
Do not deal with these people. I sent numerous items to them for resale and they wound up keeping most of them. Be very careful and my advice is to stay away!
I purchased a Nagel serigraph that also came with a book on the artist. Instead of shipping the two items separately, they placed the book in with the framed print. The glass covering the print shattered because the book was allowed to move freely in the box. The print is gouged, scratched and ruined. I haven't bothered to contact them because prior experience with their "customer service" has been so terrible. So disappointing.
I went to EBTH to pick up a monumental piece of art, took pieces of art I wished to sell and dropped them off. EBTH issued new a contract and that was it. As my art was sold EBTH processed checks which were mailed to me. For four months I have had mailbox money! Hahaha! It was that simple.
The most important thing I can say about EBTH is that they have given me personal attention, from a distance across the country, to help curate and present the beautiful photographic archive which I must now disperse to the world. I was very hesitant to start selling with EBTH because of the unknown and the $1.00 reserve. However, with their help and expertise the sales have gone quite well and I am very happy with the results.
Also, their website for sellers is very well done and tracks everything from the initial process to the date of issuing a check for sales proceeds. Working with EBTH has been a fun and rewarding experience.
Excellent website design with great pictures, customer service is prompt in responding and is very helpful. EBTH has quality products too!
Super simple transactions, excellent quality goods, speedy shipping! If I could change one thing, it would be to lower shipping costs. But I am extremely pleased with my experiences on EBTH!
I purchased several items. The process was seamless. EBTH refunded a delivery overcharge fee that I wasn't aware of. Customer service is excellent
As a coin collector, I thought that charging $11.00-plus dollars to ship one coin was too much too bear. However, now reviewing their coin selections, I find that EBTH is charging $31.39 to mail a single coin. E-bay sellers charge anywhere from free shipping to $4.00 or so to ship coins.
How can EBTH get away with this? Such outrageous charges are incredulous. No more purchases of coins for me on the EBTH web-site. Staying with E-bay and local sources from this point forward.
When I called and asked asked for the mailing address of the company owners to express my disdain, I was told that they are not permitted to give out that information. What a sham! Even the biggest corporations provide contact information to voice one's grievances. EBTH should be ashamed of themselves! A truly dissatisfied customer.
Parting with items from childhood is not easy and EBTH knows this. We can't keep it all and this organization cares about our feelings above all. This is my first review ever because EBTH was over the top great for my family. We thank their leaders, marketers and all the bidders!
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
