EBay does not seem to care in the least about their sellers. They view us as disposable garbage that they can extract fees from and then stab us in the back in favor of known scammers. Seller protection and seller support is non existent and no matter the circumstances, eBay always finds a way to put the loss on you.

Even with absolute proof that you have been swindled, eBay's favorite response is "sorry but that's the risk you take selling online" and will not even consider looking at any evidence. This has happened to me time and time again, and time and time again, eBay basically tells me that I am worthless and not worth helping.

After putting close to $8,000 in their pockets in seller fees, I am treated like I don't mater at all. If you sell on eBay, you WILL get scammed, you WILL take unacceptable losses and eBay WILL look the other way, and even actively assist the scammers and bad buyers in defrauding you.

Their only concern is for the buyers and for not having to take a loss themselves while at the same time parroting on about "the cost of doing business", yet never applying that to themselves. They do little to nothing to fight the scammers, they refuse to ever hold ANY buyer responsible for their actions.

The best case scenario when you are scammed is for you to lose ONLY half of your money, but only if you are top rated and have 30 day returns. If you are not top rated or do not offer 30 day returns, you lose everything, with no recourse. Buyer sends you bricks back? Too bad, "we were not there to see it, so we can't help you", Buyer destroys your item or steals parts off it it? "sorry, we were not there to see it, so we can't help you"

EBay has even gone as far as to suggest I commit insurance fraud to make up for losses that THEY caused by purposefully refusing to honor their own policy. Be VERY wary of selling on eBay, and be even more wary of anything they tell you, because odds are high that it's a lie or very bad information. EBay is NOT to be trusted.

FYI, for ANY sellers out there on eBay. EBay's service for buyers is a plus. However, over the years their customer service and overall service/help to sellers has fallen to the wayside! I have been selling on eBay for years and I am VERY disappointed in the service I have received over the last few years. From help to false returns from buyers, their requirements changing every 3-6 months, charging the seller fees of 15% when the shipping anything, allowing buyers to just submit a return even if the item was returned damaged and or not the correct item. They auto refund the buyer NO matter what. Then when you call eBay to try to remedy the problem. They say "You need to contact the shipping carrier to remind the issue from your buyer" VERY POOR service and disappointing it has come to this for the seller. EBay YOU need to really start looking out for your sellers and NOT just your buyers!
They auto refunded a buyer for an item they NEVER returned. WATCH out sellers. EBay. We want our MONEY back! $410.00 This is our request and the request from the BBB.
Sellers out there I would recommend looking into many other auction platforms out there. Especially if you are selling higher end items. Any high-end items we sell on different auction site that protect the US the sellers!

Tried to order something from a company called four. Nines. Fine. Got a shipping notice and then no product. I emailed them, they responded but still no product. I emailed two more times, no response. When I gave them a bad review I got my money back... imagine that. This was my first and last experience with eBay. Just buy from Amazon, they have a fool proof system and you don't get snotty emails from the vendors.

Can give 0 if there is such an option. Their customer service is so terrible, the worst in the U.S. I have never experienced any other online seller website. I never receive the item, but they don't offer a refund, even though they have a money-back policy. They don't protect their customers at all. How dare they charge their customers if the package was never received. This is the first try for eBay and will never ever buy anything from them. Trash.

Ebay is failing to reign in deceptive price posting by their sellers. Sellers are often posting a low price alongside the picture of an item but when you go to buy it, they present a drop down menu so when you choose the product in the original picture the item becomes much more expensive. The drop down menu will include some cheaper produce which matches the ad price. Its a switch and bait for sure. Sellers have also begun to post a low price for their item but when you go to buy it, they add in an extraordinarily high shipping cost. This is their way to again lure you in to buy their product and get all the money they want for it. Ebay should step in to stop these practices!

I have 1500 feedback. They will side with the buyer on everything. If a buyer wants a return, the automated appeals gives it to him. You have no say in the matter except to refund. The call center staff is horrible, and usually does not solve your issue. I have gotten 3 answers to the same question. All they appear to want to do is punish their sellers, unless you are one of their chinese whales. Costs are prohibitive to sell. There is no appeals on customers leaving negative feedback. Do yourself a favor and sell on another site.

Terrible company
March 11, 2020

This is a terrible company. I bought items that claimed to be originals but they were counterfeits! How can ebay allow people to sell counterfeit items? I also bought an item recently and there was no way to cancel the item after the order. Most companies give you the option to cancel an order right away; ebay does not. After I got the item, I returned it and was charged for the return, even though it clearly said FREE RETURNS on the product page. The seller told me that he can only give a partial refund while ebay would give back the rest of the money. There was no simple way to get the full refund; I had to call ebay and spend an hour on the phone in order to get the refund process started. In the end, they did not honor the full refund. They still owned me 1 penny. I made a big deal out it, only because out of JUSTICE, they owe the FULL amount back. It's absolutely unacceptable for them to steal money, if it's a penny or more. It took another hour on the phone for them to finally own up to their mistake. They sent an email saying that in 48 hours I would see the full refund posted on my paypal account It's been 5 DAYS and I STILL dont have the full amount refunded on my paypal account. Other problems include: their emails have a ton of grammatical errors. Many of their operators are incompetent, and can't talk or write clearly. I had cases of operators chuckling and being rude, which is totally unprofessional, and ebay does nothing to discipline them.

I decided to sell an item on eBay and the buyer asked to return it 28 days later right before their 30 return policy expired. Long story short the money was refunded and I ended up paying sellers fee and shipping which was close to 80 dollars that I lost. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and as you know they are completely useless because they get their money from these companies to a good rating. DO NOT SELL ON eBay or make business with them. They are liars and thieves.

I purchased a drum from a seller. When I got around to opening it I found that the lugs were recessed from the rods too far to line up properly. Got a partial refund ($15.00 for lacquer and gasket material) to buy parts and repair it. Upon disassembly I discovered the drum shell (Poplar) was cracked on 4 of 6 plies and that's why the rods were not running parallel to the shell. I message seller - he blames me for the crack and refused to help. Or even acknowledge my requests any further. I opened a "NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE" sending the proof of the crack with pictures... Ebay ruled for the buyer since I had already received a partial refund? So is anyone NOT allowed to disassemble to check for construction problems? Does a partial refund nullify a full refund? Even after a MAJOR ISSUE was discovered? So, now I am stuck with a useless shell that was supposed to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION? SEE PICS - BUYING ON EBAY... NOT RECCOMMENDED!

Beware of these scammers!
February 29, 2020

Complete disregard for the most basic right of customers. Bought a book that arrived destroyed. Contacted the seller in order to return it, he refused alleging that "He didn't accept returns". Opened a claim on eBay that ruled in his favor because "my payment was not covered by the customer protection". I did not ask EBAY for a refund, you CLOWNS. I just wanted to use the RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL, right that is LEGALLY BINDING for every purchase. The incompetent customer service just ruled in his favor covering their rears, and closed the claim without consultation. BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS.

Leaving negative feedback is not stellar on this site, as Ebay simply allows seller with countless complaints against them to set up new accounts, and therefore allows poor sellers to remain unaccountable. If feedback is worthless and your just going to allow them to assume an new name to duck negative feedback, not helping customers determine who good and bad sellers are. And customers can't steer away from for the few dishonest sellers on the site. Feedback on the site used to count for something an actually be a guarantee that one was dealing with a dishonest seller. Buyer protection and the Ebay Money Back Guarantee are sometimes effective. I will be shopping at Etsy in the future more than Ebay as the Feedback counts for something. They immediately take care of issues.
