Ordered my daughter's prom dress and it arrived inside out, crushed and faulty. The workmanship was appalling. The dress has an over skirt which was shorter than the hem; it was uneven in length all round. The dress is a dark purple with an appliqué bodice. The appliqué flowers were poorly constructed and the white material on which the flowers are constructed shows through. I contacted the company who said I was at fault for giving wrong measurements and offered £10 towards tailoring. They refused to accept responsibility and will not accept a return. Also note that although it is a UK website address, they are based in Hong Kong.

UPDATE 28/5/16

After I threatened court action I heard nothing further. Today I received an email out of the blue saying that they will now accept a return and will give a full dress refund. The return address is in China. They are refusing to pay return costs which will be over £30. I will continue through my credit card company until I get a full refund and not end up out of pocket.

I urge anyone thinking of buying from diy dresses to stop what they are doing, if the dress is not to your liking they will not let you return it even though it's a standard fit, their postage was late and even tho the dress is nothing like the picture they have logged (material thicker, trail longer etc) apparently all they can do is propose I go and pay more money to get it tailored... Consumer standards? Not applicable even though they state standard fits are subject to returns policy. Please do not buy from these people they will take your money without a second thought and be of little help when realisation sets in. Luckily for me I managed to get a better dress at a 3rd of the price but others may not be that lucky or have the time.

Shopped for 2 super pretty dresses from this store for our family reunion, I went went with a bridesmaid dress which fulfilled the purpose. Service was friendly, prices are great. Product came flawless.

I have been chosen to be my sisters bridesmaid and we were looking for an online store until we came across diydress advertisement at a local place in sweden. The customer support helped us to choose the right dress, size and colour, which was helpful to say.
We are used to get shipments from abroad very late into the rural area but with my order it was on time, even if they needed longer to make the dresses. The dresses were a fraction of the price of a local shop, we were glad to save money but were not disapointed. They turned out to be perfect, I am planing to buy my wedding dress from this store when I get married. :)

I've bought 4 dresses and was amazed when they arrived. It was a budget wedding and I didn't pay much for them, but they were still made very well, the upper and under stitching was flawless, the colours were brilliant, my bridesmaids loved them wort every penny Xx

I have never bought anything from this website but i would like to say something about it. I have recently been looking for prom dresses. The prom dresses in prom dress shops are far too expensive and the prom dresses in high street stores were not very interesting. diydress.co.uk came up as the first search result for 'prom dresses'. I found a perfect dress from their website and was nearly about to order it until i started looking at their website in closer detail. After searching around it for a while, i noticed that their reviews were all written the same, they were all '5 star' rating, the descriptions on the website were of poor english, the dresses were reduced way too much in price for their apparent quality, the delivery dates were suspiciously late, they wouldn't let you see the dress in different colours, on some of the dresses where there was a picture of the actual dress you would receive the dress had altered details which showed significant poorer quality, the models are all different, and the pictures of the dresses were stolen from websites that sell genuine expensive designer dresses. I then went and researched other cheap prom dress sites and i learnt that the dresses, website layout, reviews and language were exactly the same. Some of the websites were even based in hong kong, not the uk. The long and short of what i'm trying to tell you is DON'T BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE AND OTHER SIMILAR WEBSITES BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SCAMMED.

I recently bought a dress from diy dress for my prom in yellow. I was originally wary of buying from this site after hearing mixed reviews, but I have been pleasantly suprised and I absolutely love my dress! I couldn't have asked for it to be better, I got it custom made (which I highly recommend) and it fits perfectly and the colour of the dress is exactly as shown! I highly recommend buying from diydress.co.uk, fast delivery (considering where it comes from), amazing prices, great value and great quality! - I got it delivered to England and I was genuinely scared with how it would turn out but I am so pleased :)

These reviews are false, if you google the company properly you will see the reviews, sadly my mum isnt very internet wise and unfortunately used this company. They charged her £100 for a dress that in the pictures is nothing like it! They say they have a returns policy but they dont. They have sent something that looks nothing alike the pictures! They wont return, trying to say it was made to measure which it wasnt. They just ignore your emails and live chat, wont provide an email address to return too. DO NOT USE LADIES!

The dress is beautiful and has a unique design, as shown in the picture on the website. I had been looking extensively for a suitable dress in various wedding clothing stores in my city but could not find anything that I liked and the wedding event that I am going to attend is fast approaching. Then I found this dress on the diydress website, which I liked immediately but since I have never ordered a dress online before, I was very sceptical to order something that I had only seen in a picture and not seen in person. I was also worried that I might not receive the dress in time before the wedding that I am going to attend in three weeks from now. I recommend customers pay a little extra and order the Custom Size with their correct measurements because the standard sizes listed on the Company's website may not be an appropriate fit. My first online dress order experience proves that diydress is a trustworthy Company and they deliver on their promise. Their Customer Service is EXCELLENT! The Customer Service Agents are prompt at responding to enquiries.
