I ordered my daughter's homecoming dress from here. We received it on Wednesday and the dance was Saturday. We felt sure it would fit since we sent her measurements to them. It was about 4 sizes too big and we had no time for alterations. Now, I can't get anyone to respond to me about returning the dress! It's like they've fallen off the face of the earth. Another thing, the dress was made of very cheap material and wasn't as pretty as in the picture. I Do NOT recommend DIYdresses.com to anyone!

I ordered my wedding dress so happy it was finally coming. Then i saw it. Before putting it on i knew it was going to be too small. What is the point in asking for sizes if you are just going to send what you like. I chose this website because it made my wedding dress affordable. The colour has tinges of blue in it. The dress itself smells like a fish market. It is far to long and is not fit for purpose. A smell i can assure you i do not want on my wedding day. I have requested information now 3 times as to how to get a refund and as yet no one has replied. If anyone has any information on how to get a refund can you please let me know.

I ordered 8 made to measure bridesmaids dresses. I gave the measurements as stated. Prior to buying I looked at their website. It states that they offer refunds and are a reputable company. When the dresses arrived the sizes were all wrong and were far too small. When I asked for a refund they refused. I emailed over 20 times and they kept saying I had sent them the wrong measurements. They also seemed to copy their email responses from a standard template. You could be fooled into thinking there were a UK firm but they are not, they are based in Hong Kong. Luckily I paid on my credit card so managed a charge back. This is a long processes. I had to pay a tailor to write a report stating the dresses were not made to the measurements I gave. Even then DIY dresses tried to dispute this. However I eventually got my money back. Beware, the dresses may look good but the sizes are terrible.

My fiance ordered 4 bridesmaid dresses from DIY. The pictures looked lovely and the description detailed exactly what she was after. BUT, when the dresses arrived, they turned out to be a material of a very cheap look. Definitely not what the description read. The colour was suppose to be ice blue but was much darker. The neck pattern was totally different to that modeled on the website. They rarely responded to emails we sent asking them to sort the dresses out for us. When they did they denied the dresses were different in any way and even went as far as to inform us that THEY were finding the situation STRESSFUL! The dresses cost us over £400 in total. They offered us a refund of £20 (not per dress!) and, cheekily, 10% off a further purchase! Further emails were sent expressing our dissatisfaction so they chose to ignore us completely. The dresses are that bad that we have failed to sell them ourselves even for £30 a dress! We have since purchased dresses from elsewhere and have had to take the loss.

Give 0 stars if i could - liars and will not honour refund policy

This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company. I ordered my dresses from the colour chart they provided to me for the dress I was ordering - I also received swatches prior to ordering. I then attached the colour chart to each of my 3 orders and DIY dresses commented beside each link that this is "OK". I then received my dresses which should have been pale mauve in a pale aqua colour.

I contact them they told me i picked from the wrong colour chart - LIES! They admitted to their mistake eventually but would not budge to give me a refund or to send me the correct colour free of charge. I had to pay 110pounds ontop of what i already paid to get the dresses - as the mauve colour is what my heart was set on. The quality of the aqua dresses were good - so i ordered the second lot. When they arrived the under lining was pale pink and they did not put enough material on the actual dress material... so basically what i have is a dress with the mauve colour i wanted on top and a pale pink on the bottom - these dresses were thrown together in my opinion. You cant even wear these ones!

I am shocked at how rude they are now even though i sent them the pictures which clearly show how bad they are - as per the refund policy if you can prove by photos they will refund - LIES!

PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!

"Thank you for your reply. Please be noted that we did make your dress according to the colour you chose, but it is very common in clothes making industry. It will vary because of photographing, light, monitor, mood, even the time. Hope you can understand. You know our dress makers did have spent too much time and energy on your dress, hope you can also consider our hard situation.
Have a nice day."

I will give them nice day! Do they realise how much time and energy and stress and upset they have caused me...? I am not far off my wedding now and I am left with a set of dresses you cant wear and a colour I don't want!

I HAVE ORDERED MY WEDDING DRESS FROM DIY DRESS - WHILE HAVING A LIVE CHAT WITH THE SALES PERSON - I MADE SURE IF IM NOT HAPPY WITH THE DRESS I CAN EAQSILY SEND IT BACK AND I WILL GET MY FULL REFUND- WEBSITE SAYS THE SAME! MY DRESS ARRIVED - AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN BIGGER DISSASTER IN MY WHOLE LIFE. NOW TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK - BUT ALL I HAVE BEEN OFFERED IS TO KEEP THE DRESS AND THEY WILL REFUND ME £18 -! THEY MUST BE JOKING! I PAID £200.

Avoid purchasing from this company. I loved the dress depicted on their web site. I would not have even contemplated returning that dress. The dress fits me. The sizing is good but the dress itself is horrible bearing little resemblance to the one I thought I had ordered. The colour, material and the styling are all wrong. They say they have return policy. Don't believe them. They won't accept any of the many reasons I gave them, backed up with my photographic evidence, that the return of the dress warranted a full refund. After some lengthy correspondence, they offered me £15 to have the dress restyled! They have now offered to reimburse me to the tune of £80 - after I return the dress to them. Postage has to be paid bythe customer. With the £20 I paid to have the dress delivered the total outlay for was £113:57. The return of the dress would cost me another £20. So the total cost to me for this big disappointment, less the £80, would be £53:57, not to mention the fact that I had to buy another outfit for my son's wedding, which cost £130. Indeed at this point in time I have no reason to believe I would ever get any payment, even if I returned the dress
Would I buy from them again - never. Would I recommend them to anyone - never.
If this review just manages to stop 1 person from having the disappointment and stress I have had, not to mention the sheer frustration felt dealing with this company, then it would go some way towards compensation. Oh and if any Am. Dram. Society is looking for a hedious dress for a wicked witch to wear in a Christmas pantomime then get in touch. I have 1 I'd be delighted to give away.

I ordered a dress for prom an I was sooo angry with everything about the dress it came 2 weeks before my prom and I immediately requested a refund on email and they didn't reply until 2 days later I then decided to call their so called trusted number and the number doesn't exist, call for your selves and find out. Still with 7 days to my prom... no refund!
Only and email stating how I wasn't "clear enough" although I was! The dress I ordered was a 'of the shoulder' one and it came with a rounded neckline that floated on top on my chest I tried not to panic and tried ironing it... nothing worked and I am still very angry and still waiting for a refund however they are demanding I get the dress remade with 7 days which is impossible as they are based in Singapore which isn't mentioned on the website...

I read lots of reviews before ordering my wedding dress... all looked good but minutes after ordering it i came across lots of really bad reviews and then spent the next 2 weeks panicking that my dress wouldn't be right, but it arrived today and is lovely! Looks just like the picture, fits perfectly (i had mine made to measure) and is well made. Ok so it arrived folded in a bag so the lining is a little creased, but nothing a bit of steam won't fix! Maybe i really was just one of the lucky ones...

If I could give this company no stars I would do just that. I ordered 2 bridesmaids dresses from this site and when they arrived they looked nothing like the dress I had ordered. The colour was meant to be gold and it was horrible and yellow. Being close to my wedding I got my bridesmaids to try them on hoping the would look better on, o no they didn't. They did not even fit you could not zip it up or even bring the zip together to try. Went back on the website to look at the dress again and found that it is no longer available. I wonder why!

Have emailed the company around 5 times requesting a refund and for me to send the items back but they just keep asking me stupid things like send us pictures to prove they don't fit. Absolutely disgusting customer service and would not recommend this company at all.

I've spent over £440 on bridesmaid dresses which are dreadful quality, the complete wrong colour and material. I requested a refund immediately as I am within my consumer rights to do so and was told that due to the images online dresses do look different and this can even change due to "my mood"?!? I have been argueing my case and was too offered £15 refund! They are a disgrace with automated messages and their customer tel number is that of a travel agents. Do not trust this company they are a scam! I'm now a lot of money out of pocket as bought new dresses for my bridesmaids. I wish I could upload photos so you can see how awful they are!

NEVER use this site. It is appalling. The dress I ordered, came nothing like picture. The embroidery and colour was completely different, in which i contacted them explaining my disappointment. After several of my emails being ignored, I finally got a response telling me it was my fault and that I should have stated what colour i wanted the embroidery even though it clearly said in the description. The most they offered me was £10, which compared to the dress cost is ridiculous. They clearly had done this to several customers, as they didn't seem bothered at all.

Would advise everyone to avoid this website. False advertisement and a disgraceful attitude towards customers.

Bad unreliable company!

I ordered three dresses! And shoes. Dresses cost 300 pounds! One dress does not cost 10 pounds. The dresses jacket sleeves are narrow. The dresses in the back ridge. The dress is of poor quality. Other dress untrue! Changed material and style. Lots of glitter! In reality, it was not! Sending the photo told that the dress is very beautiful and suitable to wear. How can I wear a dress if it is small? And I hate sequins! Shoes are one of too little. How can I wear one shoes?!
I did not say anything for a refund. And no one wrote!

The only good thing about this was that it arrived quickly. We bought my daughters wedding dress from this site. It is one of the worse garments I have ever seen. The quality was shocking and it didn't resemble the photo at all. My daughter cried! I was offered £15 back. When I told them that I then bought another dress from another website they actually asked to see a photo of the new dress to see where they could get some tips. Appalling that they get away with selling. They don't care that they are spoiling what should be one of the happiest times of a young woman's life. Shame on them. For those reviews that praise this site, they MUST be fake
