On the 4th of July I got the 'diamond fever' and had to satisfy my diamond craving! I found a beautiful IF 1.03 W-X diamond on Distinctive Gem's website. I knew Jonathan was trustworthy because of his reputation in the gem and jewelry community, and I had been following him on social media for years. I had never purchased a diamond online before, and was nervous because 1) the price 2) a diamond's beauty is so hard to capture online, and is very subjective to the owner. But he had THE BEST price I had ever seen for an alphabet yellow, Internally Flawless modified brilliant cut oval, ever. So on impulse I bought it! His customer service team Vicki was in touch with me right away, confirming my order and keeping me updated on shipping details. Whenever I emailed her, she emailed me back within minutes. Jonathan himself sent me personalized videos of my stone under different lighting, so I could see a 360 view of the stone. My stone was sent overnight shipping, and it was so bundled up in packaging that I knew it was totally safe in transit. The stone itself is more amazing than I could have imagined. It is truly brilliant, with excellent cut (no bow-tie) and bright flashes of fire in both sunlight and under white light. I am so happy with my purchase, and I see now why Distinctive Gem and Jonathan are so loved in the gem community. He will be my first stop when (not if, haha) I have another diamond craving. Storytime: I initially purchased two of the Takara lab grown diamonds(due to their AGS ideal optics) online to have made in to earrings, unfortunately the diamonds I purchased had already been sold. Johnathan was quick to reach out to me to let me know of the error, and offered to find me a matched pair with slightly better specs (and ideal optics) for the same price due to the inconvenience. It has been an amazing customer service experience, and I'm very excited for the finished product.

I can not say enough about my experience working with Jonathan. We have truly collaborated on everything from my stone selection and now have moved on to begin the process of a bespoke setting for the amazing Heritage Emerald Cut stone I chose.

Jonathan is patient, enthusiastic and genuinely excited when the client finds the perfect match. I am a very detail oriented and visual person so Jon made sure to send me pictures, videos and follow up phone calls to make sure we were on track.

In today's brick and mortar, fast paced world, there aren't many like Rhino. I'm truly honored that he is the one making my ring! If you want to work with someone who wants to give you the most beautiful end result while absolutely respecting your budget, shoot Jon an email. You won't be sorry!

So far I have only been in contact with Jonathan once for his complimentary diamond concierge service with Bluenile, but I can say it was one of the best decisions I have made so far in this engagement ring process! He was very knowledgeable, informative, easy to talk to, and helped me find a beautiful diamond. He is also working on some custom setting design ideas for me right now and I am eager to see what he puts together! I cannot say enough positive things about Johnathan and his wife Vicki. Both are unbelievably professional, knowledgeable and kind! Jonathan answered all my calls (hahah which there were many) and questions (which there were also many lol) on replacing my engagement ring. He was always so patient and always a joy to speak with. When it came down to deciding between stones Jonathan took the time to not only send me pictures but also videos of each different stone In my setting so I could get a true visual of what my ring would look like. When I received the ring I was complete in awe with how beautiful it was! It was far beyond anything i ever imagined! Jonathan is amazing what he does! I used Jonathan's concierge service and within a month I had the most gorgeous Elyque oval diamond ring in my hand! I cannot recommend Jonathan and his products/sevices enough. He is extremely knowledgeable and the ultimate professional with quick replies to any queries and will do whatever he can to help you out. You quickly get a sense that he loves what he does and that you can trust him to deliver exactly what you want!

The Process
I initially asked Jonathan to find me a lab grown oval and within a week he had sent me a video review and specs of two great lab grown ovals. However in this time I had fallen in love with the Elyque Ovals so I ended up purchasing one of these, again with Jonathan pointing me in the right direction based on what I was after.

Then came the ring design process and after describing what I was after Jonathan knocked up a design within a couple of days which was 95% of the way there. A couple days later and the final design was sorted and within a couple of weeks the ring was at my door... the most sparkly and brilliant oval diamond I've ever seen He even helped with some paperwork to help avoid the 5% customs duty (based in Australia).

I am so so happy with how the ring turned out, it's better than I ever expected and I know my partner will love it. Jonathan - I cannot thank you enough and what you've created with those Elyques is just incredible!

My boyfriend and I worked with Jonathan to find the perfect lab-grown diamond. I had a specific designer I wanted to work with for the setting and Jonathan was eager to facilitate the work with him. Jonathan was super responsive to emails during the process and when the original diamond we picked wasn't available from the lab, he was able to find us an exact comp (slightly bigger even!) for the same price.

My boyfriend (now fiance!) received the ring yesterday and rushed over to propose as he could not wait after seeing the ring in person. The ring is gorgeous! I never thought I would have such a beautiful ring in a million years!

All of the positive things and glowing reviews you've ever heard or read about Jonathan are true. He is an amazing person and is so great at what he does. He's so helpful and honest and patient. I was convinced that I was driving him crazy with all of my questions, but he never once made me feel like I was bothering him. In fact, he went so far above and beyond my expectations when he did a ton of work to help me find a beautiful diamond WHILE HE WAS ON VACATION. During our emails back and forth (there were MANY!), I honestly felt like I was talking with a friend. I wish I had a new diamond project to work on, because I miss our chats! The only negative I can think is that all other stones will Pail in comparison to the Beauty of an AV Branded Cut!
