Jonathan was great, highly recommend! He was very communicative through email and even made YouTube videos of the diamonds so that I could see it in different lighting. He worked diligently to find exactly what my girlfriend wants. With so many options of diamonds online, I found it difficult to distinguish which diamonds are excellent quality. This is where his vetting service comes in, his expertise and diamond technology are top notch. Was blown away with the diamond we received. If you're in the market for an engagement ring, Jonathan is your guy.

I have worked with Jonathan before, so I knew what to expect of his products, exacting standards, and level of service. Somehow he exceeded even that very high bar. His responses were impossibly timely, informative, thoughtful, empathetic, candid and transparent. His wife Vicki makes this a dynamic duo, and her communication is also professional and timely. If you don't know anything about him, Google any combination of "Rhino" and/or "August Vintage" and revel in the plethora of videos on YouTube and Instagram and PriceScope and Reddit testimonials (in addition to his own created content, he makes occasional appearances on forums in a way that is both informative and humble.) If you watch his videos, you will never read his words without hearing his..."distinctive" way of speaking ever again. It's very conversational and easy-going, but not in any way lacking technical and important details. Great stuff. Although I did not buy one of his custom cuts, I got an unbelievable deal on one of his personally hunted/vetted "Steal of the Day" Lab grown round modern brilliants, and if he feels that he can put his name on something he found, then that is more than good enough for me. I had an existing Vatche U-113 setting in platinum that once housed a mined stone of basically the same size that I had sold years ago, into which the new lab stone was mounted for a small and reasonable setting fee. I love my new ring. Can't wait to come back someday for an August Vintage Old European Cut Lab someday when I celebrate another milestone, and can't wait to see where this disrupted and exciting custom cut lab diamond market looks like then.

I had a design I liked from a small jewelry store but didn't trust their quality, so I reached out to Jonathan and he was able to design something that encapsulated all the things i had wanted from that ring with the distinctive touch and quality. It turned out very nice i cant say enough good things.

I wanted a pear shaped diamond but needed help to pick out as this is a difficult shape to pick a good one. I had been following Jonathan on his YouTube videos getting educated and when I realized he did a concierge service I contacted him. I told him what I wanted carat wise and my budget. The personal attention I got was outstanding. Jonathan has a great personality, responds quickly all the time, is.professional, kind, funny, patient and knowledgeable. I was a little hesitant to have him design the setting because I thought it would be difficult to do not in person. But he made it easy and painless. I sent him a couple inspiration pics and what I wanted in a setting. We corresponded over WhatsApp and he sent me pics of his designs every step of the way and we would make adjustments as needed. I now have the most sparkly pear in the most gorgeous setting. Thank you Jonathan for your expertise. It was a pleasure having you help me.

Jonathan was very helpful with the whole process. I had many questions and he did not hesitate to answer them and he was very prompt to respond. Wonderful experience, I would recommend Distinctive Gem and Jonathan Weingarten to anyone looking for diamonds and custom made pieces. My ring is gorgeous, but words can't do justice to what an incredible job the master bench did on the fabrication, especially of the double claw prongs. Even better than I could have ever imagined.

Johnathan and his staff really excel in customer service. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. Most of the process for me was done through text message or email which was great to do secretively. There was a minor hiccup with the order in the end but it was corrected quickly and the final product was better than I imagined. The ring is beautiful and I couldn't be happier! I will continue to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you!
