So I had the DirecTV for 2 days. Didn't like it they tried to get me to pay an early cancellation fee of $350. For a $39.99 a month plan. SMH Avoid them
Not a bad company, not great either, all i wanted as a child was Disney XD. Now i need to fill in a hundred characters because Direct TV is just average satellite company
I was double charged for my Direc TV billing. After 45 minutes on the phone, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that someone would call me back. That didn't happen. After repeated calls, I was transferred to a recorded line and told that I could dispute the charge through my bank or send DirecTV a letter. Unless one has additional funds available, I would caution doing business with them. A duplicate charge of $188 is a lot of money to me.
If I could, I would give DTV zero stars & instead a rotten putrid pork anus! This new GUI is virtually illegible (font size too dinky), unnecessary boxes & gradient black graphics cover 70% of the TV image while trying to navigate a horribly NON-user friendly menu. All this was automatically imposed on us on 4-20-2018. According to DTVs own customer forum, many customers are NOT happy with this new GUI as well, and those are just those who choose to be vocal about it. In scrolling to its origin, this has been an ugly issue since 11-2017. I feel for those who have been stuck with this GARBAGE GUI since then. DTV supposedly says they are working on some improvements... but Im not holding my breath. Ill believe it if and when I see it, but until then Im just biding my time out of this contract, and getting out of DTV Dodge ASAP!
Rarely... I mean rarely, have we been able to watch a program without multiple interruptions! Picture goes digital or freezes completely. Ill lose the signal in the middle of a program or not be able to get a signal for a few minutes when I turn the tv on or change channels. We have three TVs and its the same on all of them.
A tech has already fixed the problem!
Excellent customer for years! Paid on time always. Then one day doubled my charges? So I switched. Another bigger mistake. When I asked for a detailed final bill(so it could show an early termination fee they said they didnt have accesd to that information? Wait? What? So now the new provider will not pay the buy out request because I cant get the bill to say early termination fee. Im pretty sure they are working together to get even more money out of us. Horrible company!
No company is going to give away their product, but having tried other rv services over the years, I find that, for me, this is where I'm staying. Of coarse the longer your with a company, I find, the more leverage you have.
Don't even consider Direct TV. In just asking for a quote and specifically telling them not tto do a credit check - they did - without my permission or SS #. I am filling a complaint thru FCC and BBB. I did not even consider them since their 2nd year was significantly higher. Also you must bundle or face charges that even exceed Comcast. A joke.
Bad service, had disconnected, direcTV went back too year 2006 and charged us for free movies, rent one get one free, had disconnected in 2016 ten years later
I've bounced back and forth between Direct TV and Dish over the years, never really happy with either and switching when their customer service (or actually, lack of) pushed me too far. I've had many frustrations with Direct TV over the last few years, so I finally called to find out if my contract had expired so I could try Dish again. WOW! What a difference this customer service experience was. When the girl from another country (who was very sweet) couldn't help, she immediately transferred me to someone actually in the US in their brand-new Loyalty Department. She started with, "what don't you like about your Direct TV experience?" and addressed every issue one at a time. I even got a monthly discount for a year WITHOUT having to start a new contract. My opinion of them has changed completely, and I would now wholeheartedly recommend Direct TV!:-)
I called Directv to see if there were any deals in November and I didn't qualify. I called back a week later and though it was only an inquiry as far as pricing, I got such a deal that I HAD to say Yes and Sign up. But, alas, the promises made as far as offers seems to have just been a bait and switch.
1.) They offered a gift card.
2.) They offered a SECOND gift card as a special limited time bonus - just had to get the installers name, ID and paperwork and go to the redeem section of directv.
3.) My first year was at a decent price and the second year was even LOWER...
Such deals I didn't want to call back as I had planned if I were interested in signing up, so I said yes... Well, a big mistake.
Currently awaiting the first gift card and I have no info on it currently - no emails telling me about when to expect it etc.
They claim that there was no 2nd gift card, but I kept notes and asked about it 3 times... and then transcribed the notes for future reference.
I will also bet that when I enter my 2nd year, that the price quoted me which was lower than my first year, will actually be higher - as they probably won't honor that promise either. I have all the info written down in my notebook as I talked to and signed up with the rep...
Most calls are recorded, but seems they won't pull the call data or perhaps did and heard the offer and the fact that I asked more than twice to confirm exactly what I would be getting - 1 Gift Card, a 2nd Bonus Gift Card, the monthly price for my package (which is correct) and the price of my package after 1 year (which is actually supposed to be lower than my currently pricing). Of course it is to their advantage not to provide what they promised - they are saving HUNDREDS of Dollars - multiply that over hundreds of thousands or millions of people, and that is an incredible savings... so why not bait, lie and deny? After all, who is going to go after them?
I have spent more time on this than the gift cards are worth.
If they are not allowed to honor THEIR contact/offers, then I don't feel I am really under contract with them and can leave at any time. In order for the contract to be valid, they have to honor their promises and I will honor the contract.
I am so pissed, that I plan on contact the attorney general of the state and seeing if these companies that make these promises just to get you into a contract and then don't follow through, can be prosecuted from their side. If no agency is looking into this FRAUD by these companies, they should be.
I pay for the ability to rent movies on-line, but can't because the technician didn't hook my unit to the in-house telephone line. I'd have to pay extra to have them come back out to do this and I won't do that. Anytime it rains, I lose service, which I didn't do with our last company. I will be leaving them as soon as possible and won't go back.
DirecTV recently introduced a new programming guide. Typical of DirecTVs practice of introducing new services with no directions, subscribers are directed to www.att.com/directvredefined for more information. After confirming I had the equipment required for the new service, I was still unable to access the service. Based on past experiences with DirecTV, I reluctantly telehoned for assistance. After being put on hold multiple times, I finally convinced the rep I was not calling about AT&T Telephone Service. Of course, she transferred my call to a rep requesting the same information I had provided four times already. More effort was required to convince him that I was not calling about problems with my DVR. After putting me on hold three times, the rep advised me that, while DirecTV had sent me a message announcing the new service and while I had the equipment required to access the new service, he could not forecast a date in days, weeks, months, or years when I would be able to access the new service. While I have grown accustomed to DirecTV changing their services without warning or directions, this was a new low even for DirecTV, who was promoting a new service that would be provided automatically, but (subscribers had no option to decline the new service), but no notice was provided that it was not available in all areas and there was no telling when it would be available. I did not think it was possible for DirecTV, s services to get worse, but AT&T has accomplished the impossible!,
The weather often ruins my shows. People pay for the service, but are not reimbursed for the inability to utilize it. If we don't pay them, but use the service, they'd charge us up the bum.
I have been a 15 year customer with DirecTV company. My service has not changed since new owners (AT&T). The reliability, customer service, and installation crew are 5 stars. Customer service employees have solved problems without hassle! Thank you!
They jeep raising the monthly fee. You call and complain and the will lower it to keep you from cancelling. Do not sign a contract and get locked in they will charge an enormous fee to get out of the contract. They gave TERRIBLE business practices!
They are little high but they way better then Comcast and if there a problem they try to fix it so if I had to choose Comcast or direct tv definitely direct tv!
When I went to switch to Directv from Dish, they offered me a $200 Visa to pay off contract, or last bill with Dish. It would take 4 to 8 weeks to receive the card. My end of contract cost was $240. The bank would auto withdraw the amount on the next billing cycle. I did not want to go thru any hassle with the bank, and Dish, so I cancelled the Directv installation. Directv was very nice about it.
Answer: I saw a ad on a mailing paper for some really decent pricing but it was all a scam you do not get the pricing that were on the paper
Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
