Two Stars and I Won't Be Back

I am attempting to make this review as short as possible but capture all of the interactions.
To begin I will never shop at D i c k' s Sporting Goods again.
My first visit I purchased a set of woods. The man was great, he set the loft of the driver, I hit a few shots on the launch monitor and he also changed the grips. I returned a couple of days later to have a shaft pulled from another club and an adapter installed so I can change shafts on my new driver. A month later I went back and purchased a set of irons. The salesman was knowledgeable and directed me to D i c k' s manufactured irons. I told him I'd take them. He came back with the clubs in his hand. No box. He said we don't have a box. I told him to get a box. I then said to him turn on the monitor so I can hit a couple of shots. He says you can't use the launch monitor unless you are being fit. I looked at him but didn't make an issue because I wanted the clubs.

When I got home I began thinking about my experience and I said WTF. D i c k' s is a multi billion dollar company. Are they so nickel and dime cheap they won't let a customer who spent several hundred dollars on a set or clubs use the launch monitor? So I put the clubs back into the box and drove over to the store and returned them. I have gone into a local small business golf store for a used club and the first thing the salesman did was put me on the launch monitor.

Predictably I got an email the next day for a survey. I answered it honestly and then the manager called me. She gave me the company policy spiel. And said a customer can pay a fee to use the launch monitor and have it deducted from their purchase. The commissioned salesman lost a sale by refusing to accommodate a customer. And D i c k' s on behalf of the manager, lost a customer, the manager didn't make any attempt to try and save the sale. D i c k' s has significant revenue so it won't miss one customer. On the other hand its easier to keep an existing customer than to try and find a new one.

I went for an exchange on brand new tennis shoes young man told me the price and a very rude young girl and a lady manager in duty couldn't have been mite rude I shop at dicks at least 2 times a month because I really don't like academy but I will never go back. The man manager is so nice Ty but he wasn't there what a shame they need to learn how to treat customers

I order a bike which is in stock. Next day it's not but there's one at another store. I select that store. I receive an email that my order was cancelled but oh goody the kickstand and water bottle holder are in stock. I call to cancel. I get an email stating I've picked up my bike And I could go on and on frustrating and disappointing but most of all incompetent. Never again

Beware! I purchase 2 pair of sneakers and one pair came Used. It's Obvious the item was worn. The bottom and sides were dirty, I had to clean with soap and water and disinfect the inside with Lysol... shame on Dicks, buyer beware of my experince, I will no longer buy anything from Dicks Sporting Goods. Buy at your own risk when purchasing Online from Dicks Sporting Goods..

I purchased a patagonia shirt for my husband for father's day, however i received the shirt and it was worn, missing tags, and stuffed into a bag which was torn and partially open. Terrible service. In fact, worst i've ever experienced.

At Elryia Ohio Dicks sporting goods i worked at a store manager Ken made follow allmost every male black person who walked in. It made me feel so sickk and digusted i woyld always just inform them as to what they were doing. They would also make me work during my lunch break. They fired me for conflict of interst saying i can not fix bicycles, hired as a bike tech, sold shoes all day long with no bikes to work on. I admit I was pissed when they fired me but the idea of being used as a pawn in the game of racism for a large well known company still makes me sick to my stomach.

CURBSIDE SHOPPING: I placed an online order for curbside pickup and all went well. I arrived, parked in the curbside, and checked in... nothing happened. I finally went in and there was a online order area... unstaffed and no employee in sight. I went to the adjacent in-store checkout area and asked a cashier... who pointed to the unstaffed online order area. I turned back to the cashier and, after a moment, he flagged down an employee who then came over and got the merchandise for me.

If you no longer actually provide curbside service - at the curb - then please stop offering the "service"!

IN STORE SHOPPING: Staff is tough to find - for asking a question, reaching tall shelves or racks, and especially when ready to access a fitting room any place other than the golf-wear area.

Failed Online Order

Where to begin? My niece wanted a hydroflask water bottle for her birthday, this sporting goods store promptly shipped… a golf handle grip. When I called them to remedy the mistaken shipment, the woman on the other end quickly an politely issued a re-shipment of the bottle. Somehow, that shipment was labeled a return and was never shipped. I got my money refunded and re-ordered the item. THAT shipment got labeled as a return and never got shipped. I finally decided the order had entered some kind of glitch loop and called to cancel the whole thing and have my money refunded. Never mind that my niece's birthday had passed by 2 weeks at this point. I was told the refund had to go through "approval" and when the refund was issued I was told that "due to the number of credits/reshipments placed on your purchases in the past, we are unable to provide any further credits or appeasements for lost shipments." Somehow these mistakes are my fault now? I have a solution - I shall never order from them again.

Worst experience

***do not buy exercise equipment here or use select express for delivery and assembly***

What a nightmare! We bought a treadmill from this location three weeks ago and used select express to have it delivered and assembled. We bought the NordicTrack X22i. When checking out the guy said he didn't have this specific treadmill to select for delivery so he had to put in a different treadmill but would put in the notes what we actually bought and had to be delivered. Made enough sense to us so we saw that the description had the name of the correct treadmill in it. That was a huge mistake as you'll read towards the end.
After five promised time slots on five different days for delivery, we are still without it. It's still sitting in the back of the store.
The first four times the excuse from everyone was it was too heavy and they needed more manpower or a bigger forklift to get it delivered.
I called both Dicks and select express to try and get answers but both pointed the finger at the other one.
I then went and physically sat at the store for an hour (this past Tuesday) after the fourth time to get answers. I got the run around and finally had enough so I walked out.
We got a text that night saying it would be delivered the next day (Wednesday) between 1-4.
That time slot came and went with no word from select express. Later that night we got another text saying they had no time slots open that day (why they never showed) or the next (as promised) but the following Saturday (yesterday).
They sent a confirmation email Friday night saying they would be here between the same time slots so we had plenty of time to go grocery shopping. 11am we get a call saying they would be here in 15 min. So we rush to get back home.
They show up and sure enough they had a different treadmill, the one that the guy had to check supposedly.
The funny thing is they complained the first four times it was too heavy but it didn't dawn on them the fifth time when it was light enough for two guys to carry. The story doesn't add up.
Long story short - 5 "attempts" and still no treadmill. We're giving them to Wednesday to fix this or we're returning and going elsewhere.

I entered the Dicks Sporting goods store in massapequa ny. I needed some good foot ware as I spend a lot of time on my feet working in the hospital. Store was pretty much empty. I couldn't tell the difference between staff and customers. They must have only display running shoes out, and the stock must be in the back. I spent 15 minutes in there without any help then decided to leave empty handed. When I got home I ordered a couple pairs of brooks foot ware online.

On several occasions I have taken my email or card I received in the mail for a $10.00 reward and they have not been honored at the store. This seems to be sort of a scam since it has happened several times.

Bad, Bad, Bad

Next to Walmart their bicycles are subpar and not worthy of your hard earned money. Stay away, as far as you can. Please don't take my word as an internet truth. Just take any bike wheel off any bike less than $500 and try to spin the hub. If the hub spins smoothly, I will correct my rating.

Stink bomb madness

Me and my friends were having the time of our lives on the putting green at dicks in Rockaway, New Jersey. Before entering the store we went to the Buffalo Wild Wings across the street. The wings were spicy so our buttholes were a little gassy and loose. We had a putting competition on the putting green. Me and my friend each let a pufflecloud rip as we left. We then went to the weight section to look at some protein powder. The meatball weight employee came over and told us to "GET OUT". My friend asked for a reason but he refused. This was weird coming from a 5 foot 5 250 pound man working in the weight section. The manager then came over and told us that we lit stink bombs in the putting section and the bathroom. This was absolutely hornswoggling. We couldn't believe what we just heard. We were thinking of suing but we know that employee needed his money for daily mcdonalds meal. We left as a happy group and moved to the better store, Target. Never go here again, it sucked- thanks for your time

Let's put it this way:
Their managers were even complaining.

Dicks sporting goods is the worst place to buy equipment for any sport.

I purchased a few items. About 20 min later I returned to complete a return on this items. A rebuy them with a discount coupon. Fran customer service rep rejected my 20% coupon. She states they don't except 20%. And it was Valid Dicks coupon. Horrible customer service

Very disappointed in Dick's Sports

I bought a very nice TaylorMade driver as a Christmas gift this year. After about two dozen swings the head dislodged, which was surprising enough. I returned the defective product to my local Dick's for an exchange (with receipt), only to be told that Dick's doesn't perform repair work and that I would have to take it up with the manufacturer. I will, without question, take it up with TaylorMade but will never spend another dime at Dick's. I refuse to do business with a company that doesn't stand behind the products they sell and support their customers. With the competitive nature of today's retail environment it seems as though Dick's is looking to go out of business. That's unfortunate as I've been a long time customer of Dick's but as of now that relationship is over.
