I ordered a parcel on October 31st, paid to have it delivered on November 3rd. Every day that week, the tracking information said it was 'out for delivery' (they don't even email you updates, you have to check online yourself). Then every day it was returned to the depot without DHL even attempting delivery. After a week of this and trying to reschedule online (which you can't because their website doesn't work) I rang DHL and expressed how unhappy I was and they arranged to have my parcel delivered on the Saturday 14th of November when I would be in to receive it. I was skeptical and rightly so, as at 9am the tracking information changed to say it was returned to depot and would not be delivered. I sent DHL a message to ask why they had not even attempted to deliver when they rearranged it for me but no response, I was simply told I could collect my parcel from their depot which is over 20 miles from my address.
Overall absolutely appalling. I would not recommend anyone waste their time with this company.
Awful beyond belief. My family sent me a parcel from abroad with some snacks and diaper rash cream for my baby. The DHL agent called me to say I need to pay import duty, OK no problem. Then in the email he asked me to provide invoices, photos, information of the brands, and online prices of the goods...
How can I provide invoices for things I didn't buy? Also I don't know the exact items, families usually don't send gifts with an itemised list. The value of the stuff is less than $50, less than the shipping fee they charged. I asked them to charge me duty on the declared value or open the parcel to see exactly what is in there... Nope, still asked me for invoices and photos and in a tone like I am some sort of criminal.
Told them to throw it away. Never again.
I ordered item from sophiawebster.com DHL was carrier and my shoes never arrived! I emailed them and they ignored my email. They put fake signature, saying that someone signed the package with initials that doesn't exist! They are scammers be aware! I lost more than 900$ because of them!
I could never reach the customer representative. I was supposed to pay for a fee and they have no link online to pay it and they say if I dont pay for it they will return the package. How does that even fricking make sense? It's like I have no choice but to see my package be returned to the shipper. Literally couldn't have been worse.
I run a startup business. We have had about a dozen shipments come internationally via DHL. About 3/4th of the shipments are not delivered as promised. I am so frustrated with DHL that I'm investing my time to write this review. Their Customer Service is worse than terrible. Their Customer Service does not exist. You can't get a person on the phone, and their website doesn't provide enough detail to let you resolve the problem yourself either. The most recent issue is apparently there was an import duty due. They never informed me of this (even though the shipper provided them my contact information), they simply let the package sit on hold. I finally requested the assistance of my lawyer and he was able to get a person on the phone. Never ship with DHL. Even if UPS or FedEx is more expensive, go with UPS or FedEx.
Delivered the product without notice. Postage got stolen so I asked for pictures. They said it was my fault and gave me a very blurry picture of the postage in my apartment complex, unclear which one my package even is.
Stay away! We bought an item on Amazon, checked today and said attempted delivery 4 DAYS ago! NEVER HAPPENED. Called in and the CS said the package didnt exist. We had to log unto their website to find information. Once we gave her the shipper info from THEIR WEBSITE she had to transfer us to their ecomm. Maybe she could have known that when we said it was from Amazon? Good grief! Then the next CS said it was at the Post Office by customer request. ABSOLUTE LIE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Dropped a parcel this morning to be delivered next working day (as advertised in their website) and I just found out it will be collected tomorrow to be delivered Friday. Besides, found costumer service pretty unhelpful after waiting on the line for almost 1 hour to talk to a member of the staff. I would not recommend to anyone, it would have been quicker if I sent through Royal Mail. PS I gave 1 star however system will not accept it, but it is way below that

My order has been sitting in Cincinnati and hasn't moved since! Destination is upper north British Columbia I've contacted them and keep getting $#*!ed around they're pointing the fingers at the seller which I've purchased other stuff and asked to be shipped by another company and low and behold with in a week I've gotten my order still waiting in DHL to send my stuff
Very unpleasant company to deal with. Ive spoke to 10+ agents in 5 days that are unable to give me a straight or similar answer as to what is going on with my 2 packages.
Duty has been paid on the first and everyone of the agents say it's suppose to be here tomorrow. It's now been days in a row of the same exact response and I still have no package.
On the second package, agents say i haven't paid the duty (when i have proof they took my money), and the others say it's on hold for a totally different reason, but assure me it's going to be delivered the next day.
Its now been a week of that same response and i have neither of my 2 packages.
NO ONE, not even management actually has the ability to give a straight answer or solve an issue properly at DHL / DHL Canada. Even just getting on the phone with a team leader or member of management was a hard task in itself. They refused to put me on, and i was even hung up on.
After speaking with management I'm assured they are looking into the issue and i will receive an email or call back with a resolution and that DOES not happened.
I have every single voice memo attached to my account if anyone wants to know how DHL's "valuable" customers are being treated, it's simply unacceptable in my opinion. This is why I'm choosing to share this experience in the hopes that this does not happen to anyone of you.
This is your clear warning: STAY FAR AWAY FROM DHL.
Agents will do or say anything to get you off of the phone. All they are they for is to take your tracking numbers and read to you what it says. Anything else is out of their hands and beyond their control.
If you contact me to review the calls just listen how many times I'm assured my package will in fact be here. After being promised it was going to be here again today my package is now with a totally different 3rd party shipping service that says it's not coming until "tomorrow" once again.
DHL is a complete waste of time scam and are VERY far from international shipping experts in my opinion.
I wish there was a 0 star rating for DHL.
DHL lied about delivery attempts. They never came to my house and they said they tried delivering but no one's home. LIAR
I called the customer service many times for help. They guaranteed 4 times to deliver my parcel the next day. Each day I ended up being so frustrated, here is what happened: Sep 21: I request delivery on the next day and it was confirmed by DHL. Sep 22: I waited at home the whole day but no one delivered my parcel, I called the customer service and the rep said it would get delivered tomorrow FOR SURE. Sep 23: I waited the whole day and no parcel, called again and the rep PROMISED the next day delivery. Sep 24: NO PARCEL again and I called and asked for a manager, the manager named Ruth GUARANTEED it would get delivered on the next day. Sep 25: GUESS what, today is the Friday and still no parcel. I called and the supervisor on the phone said they could only deliver my parcel on the NEXT Monday.
Its fair to call DHL Liar at this point right?
The specialist at DHL is like a joke. They sent you a scripted email and asked me to wait 2 days for a simple feedback on my parcel. Two days after, they sent you an email saying they closed my case becuz my "parcel is with the courier and it would be delivered today
". BUT where is my parcel, LIAR?
I made a complaint because they tell me my address is invalid but it is valid. They are supposed to deliver my package for a while now and i still don't have any news! What is happening with my packagee!
Dhl people are stupid - they don't think outside the box- they are uncaring and unprofessional - their communication is not align and no one will give you a straight answer- I almost lost my health insurance and Disabilty benefits because they keep going to businesses at 9pm even thought I've calling every day at least 3 times to talk to them!
I'll never ever use dhl again in my life and everyone I know will never use them or stop using them!
The most unreliable courier service regardless of where you are. Complete waste of time and money. Stay away!
4 weeks... they are getting worse by the day. The expected delivery date on my package from Canada to India was august 22nd 2020. I paid $183 to get it shipped, its 9th September today and it still hasn't been delivered. I've gone to the level of including CEO John Peterson in my escalation email, and they still have no responsibility.
For about three years of use and still satisfied. For me the best international transport and logistics company. Speed and efficiency
Tried shipping a package from any location in Northern Indiana to Egypt. My customer specifically requested DHL. I tried very hard to accommodate him. DHL website sucks. I did find a DHL location listed online in Portage, IN. After driving 30 minutes there, I discovered that this location was a freight location and not a location where you could ship a package from. An employee in the parking lot did direct me to go in and ask where I could ship a package from. I went in the "Visitor" door and spoke with a lady behind the glass. I said "excuse me, I'm." at which point she cut me off and told me to go stand behind the board to be checked in. I assume she thought I was a truck driver delivering to her location. I don't know, but she was rude. The next time one of my international customers requests to ship via DHL, I'll refuse. I will never attempt to ship via DHL ever again. How does a company like this compete in today's market? THIS POST IS NOW TAKING A CRAZY TURN - Whoever posted this review mistakenly used my email address. My normal response would be to access the account, delete anything that I didn't post and move on with my life. In this case, however, I've actually used DHL and found their service is as described in this review - horrific. Therefore, I'm leaving it up and simply recapturing this account with my email attached to it. What Sitejabber does at this point is up to them. Best!
Avoid these pathetic trash service providers at all costs. TERRIBLE ZERO STAR SERVICE. WILL NEVER PAY FOR THEIR SERVICE EVER AGAIN
I've been listening to "Thank you for your patience while holding" for the last 43 minutes. I don't think anyone is working at DHL. Unfortunately, I have to continue to hold. Just hope someone will pick up the line. Businesses can blame on Covid for everything. That's including poor customer service.
Answer: DHL always damaged my packages, I don't understand how they are still in business!
Answer: Difficult. Automated system. Rip off phone charges. Cost so far to track our parcel, possibly missing has been around £25 in phone charges. Still trying. They wont phone you back and yet it is their error.
