Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback Mary! We fixed the shutter button on Marys Sony DSC-H2 camera with an aluminum button and give a lifetime guarantee on the repair!

Why don't people calling me a scammer comment when one of my happy customers post? Mary is yet another of our 15,000+ happy customers!

I ordered a part for a Canon Elph and received it promptly, I did have trouble communicating, but can understand the situation if you don't have the help.

Sorry for the delay in communications, I answer the phone myself so if someone else is on the line with me you will get voicemail or busy signal. I hope the screws don't fall out of your Canon SD790 again... put locktite on them! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Dennis.

It did take several weeks for my Nikon D40 to be repaired. Thomas's online repair status did indicate that they had received my camera and that is was awaiting repair. I realize Thomas runs a very small repair shop (now out of his home) and is overwhelmed with phone calls. I was able to get feedback from Thomas after posting to his Facebook page. The camera came back repaired (unfortunately there was a problem with some of the screws, they had to be drilled out). When I got the camera back, some of the screws were missing). The camera works great though and I am relieved. Thank you Thomas. If you have any extra screws for the back of the camera around the LCD, I would appreciate it. I need 1 for the back and 1 for the bottom. Order #9589. Thank you Thomas.
Oh Thomas, a suggestion, it would be great if you could hire a high school kid to help you with email responses or another way of updating the website on status of expected repair date. (Just a thought):-) Karen

I mailed my Sony camera off for a broken/missing shutter button. Camera was received on a Saturday, fixed on Monday. That same week, Saturday I took pictures of our annual Easter Egg Hunt and was more than pleased with the work and service. Best price out there and great service. I'm a penny pincher and believe me, I searched high and low for the best price and this company won hands down. Thank you Mr. Thomas from ST Leonard, MD.

Thank you for your kind words Jessie!

We now try and do all shutter button repairs within 1-2 days and are the ONLY repair shop ANYWHERE that uses aluminum buttons and guarantees they will never break again. Sony charges $171 for this repair and puts the same plastic button that already broken back in the camera!

Yet another customer that we did not rip off or steal from, contrary to what the fake reviews say about us.

I agree with everyone else who says this place is a rip off. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, SEND YOUR CAMERA TO THIS PLACE TO BE REPAIRED. RIP-OFF, do no stand behind their service and won't communicate! They will break your camera and you'll be worse off than when you started. I guess I am lucky to even have gotten my camera back, after reading above.

As a small business owner myself, I found DTS on line and sent my camera there for repair, in an effort to support another small business owner.

I sent my camera in and pre-paid, as directed, to have my shutter button repaired. It had broken and DTS advertised a lifetime guarantee on their repair. Got the camera back in a reasonable amount of time with the button fixed. However, the zoom, which worked fine when I mailed the camera in, did not work. I tried to call DTS, but, of course, got the voice mail that said we are too busy to answer your phone call, so send us an e-mail. Sent an e-mail and described what had happened. Got an apology e-mail that send said the camera back and we will fix it. At this point, I was understanding that an error was made when the camera was fixed and was fine with DTS, as long as they fixed my camera. Of course, I had to send the camera back again, AT MY EXPENSE. No offer of paying for that. Got camera back again in a reasonable amount of time with the zoom fixed. However, this time the FLASH, which was fine when sent in, was broken! Needless to say, I had no confidence left in this company and sent an e-mail asking that they refund my money. Have not heard anything from them in a month and, of course, no refund, not that I expected anything. So, I spent $70 and my camera is still broken. I am in the process of working with my credit card company to get my money back. Wish I had read these reviews before sending my camera here in the first place.

Again I say, DO NOT USE!

Julie; I'm sorry you're so unhappy with our service. What exactly is 'broken' with your flash? We did nothing at any time to rip you off.

At no time have we ever stolen anything from anyone so I don't appreciate your "I am lucky to have gotten my camera back" comment, it's uncalled for. There are so many fake reviews of us on this website it's disgusting.

Out of the 15,000 cameras we have repaired here, there have been a few problems, but we always work with the customer to resolve them as long as they are willing to work with us as well.

I ordered a lens repair kit for a Canon point-n-shoot camera. The kit I received was for the wrong camera, only the lens cover was correct. I called and emailed them with no response. I finally decided to leave a voice message on the toll number despite the recording saying not to do so. They called back within minutes and they shipped out the correct parts. I have installed them and the camera is working well, so I have no complaints.

I admit I was a bit frustrated by how difficult it was to actually make contact with them, but when I was able to connect they made it right. I think these people mean well and are not malicious, but I do think their internet business has grown faster than they have been able to keep up. This is a great problem for a business to have, but customers may see occasional problems while the business catches up with demand.

Darntoothysam.com did a fantastic job on my Canon G-9.
They were well aware of the problem and the turn around time for
Repair was very reasonable. I sent them a camera that would not power on and they
Sent the same camera back good as new. The price was great compared to any
Local shop that I checked. Canon factory repairs could run as much as 3X's what I was charged. Great job at a great price. They saved my G-9. Thanks.

Your camera was repaired within a day or two after talking with you about it. We sent it back to you Express Overnight at our expense so that it would make it back to you in time for your trip, and I let you know you would need to be there to sign for it; we will not ship back a camera without Signature Confirmation upon delivery.

I order an OEM LCD replacement for my Kodak Easyshare V1003 last March 25. On that same day he sent an email about my order confirmation, but it doesn't tell the information about the date of the shipment. I tried to call them several times but a voicemail will answer the call saying that he is too busy to answer the phone. I also tried two send an email twice but it was returned as a returned mail. My card was already been charged ($36.77). Its been more than a week Mr. Thomas and I haven't heard anything from you. My invoice number is 9782.

I recieved what I ordered, no problems. I only have a problem with him ignoring my e-mails about my order after not getting it for a week or two. I finally got a response from him on his web page blog with a resonable answer. I can understand the phone thing though. Customer service (e-mail returns) needs work.

Sorry for the inconvenience with your order Norman.

Your Sony H2 shutter button we have to buy from Sony, then we BREAK OFF the plastic shutter button and put in our SOLID ALUMINUM button before shipping it out to the customer. We ran out of repair kits unfortunately and had to wait to get more in before we could send out your part.

I purchased a sony cyber shot a number of years ago. I like the camera it takes nice pictures and I know all the options on the camera. The shutter button broke. I contacted darntoothysam (the only camera place that would even look at the camera, sony wanted $180 just to look at it). I spoke with the owner a number of times and was informed about all my options. I was told that problems my arise when the camera is opened up. The owner was very informative and helpful, he returned my calls in a timely matter and kept me informed. The camera repair took a while, but i understood the circumstances. I could not have purchased this type of camera for the price nor could I have repaired it anywhere else. So it was worth the wait and money.

I purchased a used video camera back in 2005.
It worked great for many years.
I dropped it and the audio seemed off.
I sent it in for repair and got it back in 2 weeks.
They cleaned it and it worked better than ever!
And there was no charge.

I feel bad that someone has a vendetta against DarnToothySam.
We all know that the internet is the best place to make anonymous,
Slanderous claims that you don't even have to prove!

The Better Business Bureau has complaints about service.
I inquired with them and they told me that,
They have No Way to know if they are LEGITIMATE complaints or not.
People are NOT asked for proof, AnyOne can file a complaint.

So, I say, REAL people have received QUALITY service from DARN TOOTHY SAM.

I purchased a new top for my camera from DTS they were the cheapest place and easiest website to locate the exact part I needed from. They did not carry my part in stock but I still received it in a respectable amount of time. I had no issues at all with this company and would use them again for future purchases for my camera if needed.
All these negative issues I have seen on here for them seems a bit over the top and funny that it is the same thing over and over again. If they are asking for your information but you are not willing to give it to them then I have to wonder if you are one person trying to stir up issues because you had a bad experience with them. I don't figure this company to be perfect and I am sure there are several customers out there that are not happy with them, but be adult and answer their responses if there really are that many unhappy customers and allow them to try to fix the issue. No company is perfect so if you are not happy move on and use someone else.

I had 2 Canon Powershot SD790IS camera, that had an identical broken part. This part would have been easily replaced even by me. I contacted Canon, they quoted me $175.00 each to replace the broken piece. Almost the cost of the camera! I found darntoothysam through a Google search. I didn't see the part I needed on online so I called and described what I needed. He didn't have 2 of the same part in stock, so he sent me one part and about 3 weeks later I received the other replacement part. It cost me a total of $14 vs $350.00 to repair these two cameras. They are very knowledgeable and extremely fair. I will continue to recommend them and do business with them.

Thanks Suzy for your review!
Those darn SD790s should have a recall for the side screws falling out and Canon should fix them for free. Unfortunately we go through so many they go on backorder with the national parts distributor, hence the delay with your parts.
I'm glad you got your cameras fixed, and I do hope you remembered to put some Locktite on the screws to hold them in this time.

I don't know if all the others are from one person or not, but I sent him my Canon G10 after I broke the cover over the rear LCD screen. He replaced it, kept me updated via email, and returned it within a reasonable time. I live in the same metro area, and he was willing to have me save shipping if I wanted to drop it off, but the time to drive over from where I live wasn't worth it, so I shipped it. He answered his phone when I called, his repair was great, and I'd use him again.

I'm a satisfied customer. My new LCD screen was sent within two weeks. I made my own repair at a quarter of what I was quoted at the extened warantee place--which said, "Too bad, that's not covered." A speedy reply to my e-mailed query regarding how long it would take to ship the part would have bumped my rating up to a 4 from 3.

I had a typical problem ( As I knew it later) for my Sony H2 camera - broken shutter button... in all the shops I asked everybody gave me price similar to the cost of new camera and every mechanic suggested to buy a new camera. And then I found this site where it said that it's a typical problem for my camera and if it's gonna be fixed my camera can last long time and work well. So I sent them my camera and for 60 bucks it was fixed, already a year passed since that time and camera is working great. The great thing about this site is that they have tutorials with list of all the tools and details needed to fix the problem yourself.
