As a first time helmet buyer I needed a place to try a couple on and learn a little about different types. Excellent customer service and selection, Didn't have my size for the one I wanted but I was able to try on a different color and they ordered one for me and had it shipped to my house. Definitely the only place for bike life needs.

Walked in there with my son and wife about 20mins to close and they where great sized me and my son for a helmet and we got what we needed left well after 6 and they where cool with it
Store online inventory said they had them in stock, so I made the 2 hour ride to grab one on a Saturdayafternoon. My fault I didn't reserve or call ahead, inventory was wrong, they were out of stock. Salesman set me up with free shipping and got the item by Wednesday.

I did an instore pickup, they were very punctual. When I went in to get my jacket they had it hung up and waiting. I was able to take my time and try it on and everything. And I had a good conversation about bikes etc then I left.

Needed to order a specialized battery for my Vespa. Not available in typical auto parts stores. Was thrilled that Cycle Gear had the right battery available. Delivery came 1-2 days earlier than I'd expected, which was a bonus.

Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
Answer: There's nothing legit about the website. They have stores in many different cities around the US, but their customer service is almost as bad in-store, as it is from their corporate call center and internet department.
