You have to wait outside for 1-3 hours daily as workers chat indoors, if you question the managements local or cooperate you will be deferred, kicked out. The Olney location is called the Black CSL, because the black leadership there mistreats it mostly black population the worst, so I suggest B positive in Cheltenham mall

Olney Philadelphia C.S.L aka the Black C.S.L
September 6, 2023
Previous review

It opens 1-2 hours late always, donors are forced to wait outside rain, snow or heat as you view the workers laughing, eating, talking. The Non English speaking guards act like cops hands on their guns and quick to violence. Biometrics takes 45-1hr in line. Then you wait in another line for another hour or two and if you complain you will be permanently deferred.,there are no bonuses, the staff is very rude if you stop them from socializing, which is often and you will be deferred. The corporate office supports this behavior if you report the site for non problems the cooperate office reports you to there local office and again you get deferred, which means kicked out and unable to donate.its called the Black CSL because most of the staff, donors are black and at the Franklin Mills location it basically mixed, but mostly white, opens on time daily, process donors completely within 2 hours. Do not donate your plasma and,or time with C.D.L it's horrible, there are other plasma companies in Philadelphia that treat you with respect and pay the same if not more than CSL

Staff treats clients like scumbags
November 29, 2023

The building is just about falling apart. You only have 24 beds and 50 people in line. You gotta worry about the machines at our working are gonna take care of you. I go to the Gastonia location. And there is a woman who has a bad limp and black hair. And she has the smartest most condescending mouth of anyone. I've ever seen working in customer service. A young man was the Is manager on dudy the day I was there. He would rather talk than actually draw people to the beds. I got call to a bed for my blood draw three other people got called after me which means they got done before I did. Then they slowed down my machine because they were having too many people in the saline process that they would actually have to work harder to get all out of there. Absolutely should be reviewed and shut down and everyone in the building should be fired,Except for lexi and Nate should be fired.

Staff
November 29, 2023

They're short staffed & the present staff spend more time clowning around with each other & talking then tending to the customers. They should be more friendly. The least they could do is provide water per person or a snack given by staff not out in the open for all the greedy people to help themselves. You can count on being there at least 2 hrs per visit. The 1st time will take at least 3-4 hours.

Just know
November 11, 2023

I was very disappointed to find out that I was chosen to receive a extra $30 just to find out that once you donate. You have to wait 48 hours before you receive it. What a rip-off. I didn't wait 48 hours to donate!

MISLEADING MARKETING
October 27, 2023

I was attrached to CSL by an online ad that stated '$500 for first donation and a $100 bonus for new donors.' Egregious I got to the Manchester, CT location the tech at the front desk explained that all the center pay different fees, and the fees were cumlitive payouts over 5-8 donations. Manchester's feee were $425 after 5-donationd: $100+$100+$75+$75+75. I was in advertising for 33 years and this story is going to the Attorney General's office.

Disgusting. You walk in there and the whole place is filled with crack addicts getting money for their next fix so if you wake up after getting a blood donation and you want to smoke crack you can think CSL plasma on State Street in Schenectady for that

Not a professional place to donate
September 28, 2023

I used to work at CSL and also donated. The management is completely corrupt and makes life hell for the employees. The donors know it as well. They could be doing 3x the business they do if they'd run it right and be good to their staff. The turnover rate is extremely high because of crooked managers. I've never seen any place run so unprofessional anywhere. They need to go in and completely clean house on many upper levels to get this place up to par. It used to do much more business. Now many stay away or leave because the long waits and newbies trying to stick you.

Shaniqua Did Not Want to do her job
September 26, 2023

Me and one other person was at the Clifton Nj location from 4 pmtoday Septemner 25,2023 at the Clifton Nj location and Shaoqua comes out from the donor area to the front at 6 and says " The nurse isnt feeling well so everybody might not get seen today " Then at 7:00 Shaniqua comes out and says all the beds are full ypu have to come back tomorrow, I then said that I came all the way from NY it cost me $18.50 round trip she said You have to come back tomorrow, I asked for a Manager she said she is the manager, I then spoke to the nurse she was giddy, luaghing and was perfectly fine to me. So I think Shaniqua lied and said the Nurse wasnt feeling well because she didnt want to do her job, Also When I asked for corporates number from the nurse Shaniqua then Insited that I leave the building, I said I dont see why I have to leave the building theres plenty of people hear.
She then said if you dont leave the building this will have to escalate, I said Im a Bronze donor all thats not neccessary and I left.
I was always low toned and spoke always respectfully and proper when I spoke with her like I always am with all of the staff when I go there.
Also The nurse and another staff member heard everything and can attest to my proper beha iour and tone and Shaniquass Street type way she spoke to me.
This may sound harsh but Shaniqua should only be on maintenace and not dealing with patients threatening to and I quote " Escalate Things "
It gave me the feeling Om being threatened And she wanted a confrontation, And good god Im just there to donate plasma the last thing Im thinking about is some kind of confrontation.Shaniqua showed
A Bad Mind Set
Mean disposition
Showed Hostility and Anger
Poor Judgement
Street Culture
Mismanagement
And came across as a Liar
Apart from losing my time and money to go there, It brings me no pleasure to have to write this review,
Ive always appreceated all the staff there and how hard they work, They for the most part are to be commended, But not a staff member like Shaniqua that wants to pick a fight/confrontation with a donor - Im always cheerful and Always Always a happy donor.
Ive never had a problem there.
Shaniqua needs to only do maintrnance and not handle people
Shes to Street and needs Culture Training.

Ridgid with zero customer service
September 14, 2023

I went to CSL for my normally scheduled donation of plasma at 3757 W Ina Rd Suite 100/120, Tucson, AZ *******, on 14Sep23 at 7am. The attendant said my temperature was 101 then said "you cannot donate today." I said please take my temperature again, she said no, come back tomorrow. I explained that it's an hour drive round trip from home, she didn't care. I said I do not have a fever; she didn't care. I went to a lady in the back, explained what happen, she didn't care, and said no one's temperature is taken a second time. I went home, took my temperature three times and each time it read 97.1,97.2 and 97.0. I cannot work with a place that is wrong and won't even attempt to fix their mistake. CSL has no customer service and is so ridged in its position that there is no chance to see it their equipment is incorrect. Further, their staff are loud, horsing around while donors are donating, careless when jabbing you with the needle and often forget to check to see if you're done donating. Sloppy operation, not worth the donation fee. I deleted their app, won't be returning.

This isn't okay
September 11, 2023

First off I'd like to say they're very transphobic. They constantly deadnamed me and kept calling me a girl when I clearly look like a dude. I've been transgender for 6 years and on testosterone for 2 years. They won't use my chosen name and when I told them to just call me by my last name they only did that the first day I asked and when I was there the next time they stopped. Something needs to change because I'm sure I'm not the only transgender or queer person who goes there.

I was never able to donate because they kept giving me reason after reason for why I couldn't, whether it be things I didn't have on me, medication, making me go to my doctor to have a paper signed, having to put me in a different category because I'm a guy who isn't straight, etc. Why couldn't they just tell me everything I needed to do in the first place so I could've gotten it done that day then just donate the next. It's not a very organized process.

One day when I went there they asked for my ID, social security card, and proof of address. No one else ever asked me for that after the first time I gave it to them. Then suddenly, one day when I went in there, this girl asks for it. What in the world. I don't have a car, so I had to wait in the heat for an hour basically for nothing.

The last time I was there a guy (not name dropping) who worked there said I had "body odor". I don't because I'm a very clean person. What actually happened was I had to walk like half a mile to the bus stop in 100 degree heat. I was probably a bit sweaty which mixed with my deodorant causing it to smell unusual. It didn't even smell bad. It would've been gone in like ten minutes if they would've just asked "were you sweating out there?" or something and then I could've waited in the seating area for a bit, but no, they had to make me anxious.

I ended up walking out after that and never went back. I'm hoping my upcoming experience at a different place makes me feel safer.
