I would not recommend this phone service to anyone they aren't very good #1 and #2 they aren't educated in what to do or what porting a number means which is very frustrating plus most everyone I've talked through through customer service isn't helpful and they are all very rude, I work in customer service and it's not hard to be nice.

Worked great for a month... then horrible, Stopped getting reception in the house. Then outside of the house. Then texts wouldn't send. The phone didn't ring and I wouldn't get the voicemail till hours later. Horrible. Switched to Redpocket and now on the same phone for the same money I'm back on the verizon lines and everything is normal again.

It couldn't possibly be worse. Rude, greedy, and NO HOTSPOTS. That's right we get no hotspot. We run a small business and we live in the country. We need hotspots sometimes for printing shipping labels. They claim that we can't get hot spots. They suspended our phones for no reason claiming that the Samsung j7 and LG v20 is not acceptable phones for them so no hotspot. So we HAVE to buy their expensive crappy phones that don't have removable batteries, and we did buy one, the Halo Samsung j7 (only one that had removable battery). And guess what? It didn't have hotspot either so no hotspots. They cost us so much money, and then they claim if we buy more things and pay even more which would total over 80.00 a month then maybe we can get hotspot. And that's for only 8 gb. So you want my opinion? Stay away, go with Boost Mobile, PC Metro, or anything but Cricket.

I've been with Cricket for 20 years. They just instituted a $3 customer services fee. The autopay doesn't work now for me and when you call to pay the bill they don't give you the $5 auto pay discount like they usually do. The company is doing some unethically and maybe illegal business practices. I plan to switch to Boost and or MetroPCS soon.

This service SUCKS
June 6, 2019

First of all let me begin by saying that I was in the auto pay option which you get a $5 discount for signing up for this option. I needed more data so I called them, they removed my auto pay and gave me more dat. The following month, no auto pay, no discount I had to wait on the phone for over two hours to get basic assistance and when I did, I found out that they claim a store removed the auto pay, which they cannot do. So, I had to pay the extra 5 for the month and sign up for auto pay again. Now, it's not about the measley $5 bucks, it's about the principle and how the right hand don't know what the hell the left hand is doing. They clearly don't speak very good English, very hard to understand and to get easy assistance with what you need.
All in all, I give this company a big FAT ZERO for their stupid rating.
Stay AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, you will get the run around and they will charge you more money than what you are suppose to pay!

Awful, beware!
May 15, 2019

Cricket does not honor what states on receipts of warranty papers! I was given a receipt where a replacement phone would be sent to me due to defect on phone and now I'm being told it will not be sent to me! Cricket is misleading public's and does not respect what is written by them!

The phone and plans are okay, but Beware of some of their Perks.
I gave a friend my code for the Refer-A-Friend Program so she could sign up and we would both save $25.00. We kept getting mixed messages of it it should be 60 or 90 days, but, it's been 90. They tried to deny our credit by saying she opened an account before applying the code. If you read the terms of the program, one step says you start service then use code then FAQ says you use code then start service. Suffice it to say both my friend and I spent 4 hours yesterday fighting with Cricket Customer Service over this and surprisingly never talked to the same people. I finally got a case # and had my side resolved but my friend has to wait 3-4 more days to receive her credit. Needless to say, I will Never Refer-A-Friend again to this company.

Circles, that's what you go through with this company. It's all mediocre until you need to speak to someone. Then call the company cause we don't... Then go to one of their stores, on we don't service Walmart plans circus. I ran out of data a few days early so bought a higher price plan for unlimited data which was slowed down and never brought back up 3 days now still faceless. If you value your money spend it anywhere else with anyone else but cricket I want to smash this piece of crap with a hammer. It's what they deserve for 5 years of being a customer. Mark Rosener

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The Customer Service Reps can barely speak or understand English. Based on repeatedly calling until I could find one with a degree of fluency I would guess 1 out of 4 is able to understand English spoken clearly and slowly. I have yet to find one that can assist in all simple matters like password reset, bill payment issues.

ANTIQUATED ONLINE ACCESS:
Need a password reset? You better have the phone with you and it better be operational If its broken or not with you (as in my case, it's 500 miles away)... you cannot get a password reset like every other carrier who has the ability to send it to your email on file. Ridiculous!

NONE WORSE STAY AWAY!
February 5, 2019
Updated review

Update 4/10/20, If you have a problem with your Cricket Service, and you will, expect at least 5 hours for being on hold, hung up, calling back, waiting on hold talking to a CSR, being put on hold again, being transfered to a dept that can't help you, hung up on again, and on and on and on, in contacting tech support online is also a good 3-7 hours to get resolution. This IS NOT an exaggeration! Been onhold now for 2 hours and 46 mins, been hung up on twice after talking to rep and this is my 3rd call.
I had to contact cricket's customer service for an issue I was having and to upgrade my service. Yeah, Good luck! I was having no help with the agent in Cambodia and asked to speak with her supervisor. "Kevin" answered and said he was a supervisor and would help me, not really though. "Kevin" was rude and basically a jerk. I told him to have a blessed day and got off the call. Right after I hung up the call I get a text from Cricket in Spanish, yes Spanish. Kevin had changed my language preferences. I Called back and spoke with Carlos, who was very helpful and changed my setting back to English. Then Kevin changed them back to Spanish 4 times in the next week. Great company as long as you don't need to talk to customer service. I hope "Kevin" got fired.

Can't complain
December 16, 2015
Previous review

I've seen a lot of bad reviews for Cricket, however, I've had them as my carrier for 1 year now and have no complaints. I work in an area where co-workers who have AT&T get no reception and I do. I have drove from St. Louis to Chicago, no loss of reception, from StL to Huntsville, Al, no loss of reception. I have not attempted to contact customer service because there is a Cricket store in Arnold, Mo. Close to my home and they are always very helpful with any questions or problems I might have. Over all I can't complain.

Awful
January 25, 2019

We switched from Verizon to cricket because it was cheaper. It's half the price, but 1/100th the quality. We were reassured constiantly that we had 4g speeds in our town. When we arrived at our town with cricket we came to find that we had no signal in our town at all except on the edge where we don't live. Even there it is not near 4g speeds. We were getting less that. 1mbps downloading speed. Upload speed was too slow to even measure. Definitely not worth the price. The coverage cricket claims to have is a lie. Very bad company. DO NOT GET!

Beyond Disappointed
January 25, 2019

I haven't been happy since the beginning so I am going elsewhere now. I've wasted enough money on this company! When I first signed on with Cricket, the worker had no idea how to transfer my pictures from old phone to my new phone so I had to blue tooth every picture MYSELF once I got home. I've purchased two phones had them both for about a week when the started slowing down, freezing, screen turning black, battery dying very quick. I went to upgrade about two weeks ago and purchased a SD card b/c the phone I got has very little storage. So AFTER dumping money into a new phone PLUS an addition $32.99 on a card, the card is corrupt and guess what?! Too bad! It's non-refundable! Was I told that when I purchased it? NO! Was I told when I signed on with Cricket that even though I pay MONTHLY for insurance, when and if i have to send my phone, I'll COMPLETELY be WITHOUT a phone until they send mine back?! I take my phone to a different location to see if they can help with the SD card issue... The workers said to me, "how do you get to the SD card? I've been working with Iphones all day" REALLY?! This company sucks, the employees have NO clue what their doing and the phones are garbage! At this point, the only thing left for you to do is refund me my money!

Cricket told me the cell tower has been down since September, 2018 in my area and that they are scheduled to fix it in two weeks. I have been told this same thing every time I call them and complain that I have no service. I am going on 4 months of the exact same story from them. I can not make or receive calls on any of the 3 phones that are all in the same household and on the same plan. I am only able to use the phone if I drive 10+ miles away to a Starbuck and then I am able to make and receive calls. To me that is not providing me with service. If I am unable to use the phone at home then I do not have service. I have called many times and wasted a lot of time on hold with this problem. On 1/8/2019 I called them to fine out what is being done. I also told them that I did not want them to take out $90 from my account via autopay and not to turn off my service. The next day they suspended my account on all three phones even after talking with them the day before. I called them and finally talked with a floor manager and she said that I would have to pay the $90.00 inorder for them to turn my account back on. She insisted that I pay for service that she knows they are not providing me with. That sounds illegal to me!
I want a full refund of $90.00 for each month the service has been down since September. I also want to know when the problem will be fixed. It has been escalated three times by the companies managers and still nothing is being done.
