On March 12 th of this year I paid cricketwireless $60.00 towards my cricketwireless service. On March 16th someone within cricketwireless company stold an additional $64.99 off my debit card. I was angry. I told my bank to replace my money back because the transaction was unauthorised. So my bank had froze my account and replaced the money and sent another card... I called you all the same day and told cricketwireless all to stop taking money out of my account without asking me. That's stealing... on March 17th while my account was still froze they took money out of my account again... even after I told you cricketwireless the first time to stop stealing my money and I frozen my bank account and got another card you all still took money off my card... I reported crickerwireless to the better business bureau and I'm in process to file a small claim... they have 3 days to respond to better business bureau and 30 days to respond to my claims or cricketwireless is going to be paying out more than $60.00
Vanessa (Regional Manger) Hope this makes it to you.
So after 4 years of being a Cricket customer I finally got a new phone. My old iPhone died and I needed one quickly. When I got to the store Bri (the store manger) greeted me with a smile and attentiveness. She helped me pick out an iPhone XR. She then asked if I needed anything else, explaining I could put it on the lease. I told her "No, I didn't want to add anything else to the lease. Only the phone" a $699.00 purchase. She entered everything into the computer and then excited told me I qualified for a few free ideas because I was getting a new phone.
Including:
Tempered glass screen protector
Plug less charger
Wireless speaker (which has a display at the front)
Phone case (which was purple)
I asked multiple times making sure they were free and not being added to my bill. She explained "These are free items."
I felt happy I had gotten a great deal. This all happened Thursday 03/05/20. Come to find out Monday (03/09/20) morning, when I call progressive (leasing company) that I have a $940.00 bill. Needless to say I was furious. I returned the phone case. I couldn't return the charger because I opened it to try it (come to find out, it won't even charge my phone past 50% because it's a cheap China made item). And the speaker can't be returned because there was a small 2"cut in the box, that I don't even think I made. I opened it to looked at it and then put it back in the box.
All that said, I don't personally blame Bri for misleading me. I blame her regional manager Vanessa for not informing her those items are not really free. Heck even the receipt said zero dollars.
Cricket, if you end up reading this. I'd like you to know, I deal with the spotty service that I get from you, I am an auto pay customer who has never been late on a bill and to be treated this was is down right shameful. I will not recommend anyone to use Cricket (which is just an extension of At&t) or At&t.
That's being said I also understand return policies, I have worked in service and support so I know people try to get one over on big corporations. But seriously, that was so misleading. I will be paying out my bill and moving over to another provider.
This phone provider will turn your phone off and not research payments made. They don't want to look at your bank statement because they means they have to accept responsibility for a misposted payment and make a correction. After dealing with them I wonder if they are using customer money to pay on their own accounts.
I have a very dear friend that is a Cricket customer and was having trouble with her. She's a senior and a cancer patient, so its imperative that she has her phone. When I arrived the phone wasnt dialing out and when the receiver answered you couldn't hear. She only had the phone for 1 month, and it was the 2nd phone that she had purchased in 3 months. The sales clerk at the store told her that she had to call customer care because its been more than 7 days. I called customer care on her behalf. I was told that she had to pay 40 and a phone would be sent in 1 to 2 business days. I explained that she elderly, on oxygen, on a budget, and in poor health. Shes been with the company for a number of years what type of exceptions could be made. He said he would transfer me to a supervisor. The supervisor never came to the phone. After several failed attempts to reach a supervisor, I took my friend to T-Mobile. I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
After telling cricket wireless to cancel my direct pay they still continue to pull money out of my account. After calling them of this problem they told me I have to take it up with my financial institution. This company can not be trusted.
They are crooks. 5$ extra because my service was suspended. 25$ activation fee if I buy a new phone. They don't tell you you can just switch your sims card. Theives. I hate them. Will never use them again after being with cricket for 6 years. DONE
This company sucks do not go there I had already went into the store and made one bridge previous then a couple days they sent me a text message saying I qualify for another just make a payment I did which came out to be $18 Next day they cut my phone off, Call customer service He told me I'm wasting my time nothing is going to be done I repeat he told me I'm wasting my time so if I talk to a supervisor I'm still wasting my time then he going to say is there anything I can help you with wow They should shut this company down and put a lock on it and throw away the key
I switched my service from a reputable carrier to cricket about 2 years ago, 4 phone lines. I recently requested one number be changed due to harassing calls on my daughter's line. Long story short, Cricket customer service changed the wrong number, my business line of 10 years. They repeated the number back to me they were going to change but yet changed another number instead. Then said, oh well, there's nothing we can do about it. I'm still in the process of changing my marketing materials with an updated number. Shirts, pens, business cards, advertising on vehicles, advertising with marketing agencies. This will end up costing over $10,000. I advise in the strongest terms to anyone looking for a discount phone plan, Don't do it. Pay the extra and stick with one of the major 3. Cricket is as dishonest as they come and I'm surprised there are not multiple lawsuits pending given the many similar reviews.
First, let me say that this review is base on my experience with Crickets customer service ability to solve my/our terrible signal issues.
My family upgraded our phones and plans back in November. We got the four phones plans for $100, as well new phones. Hot spot, unlimited data, etc... ok. Our signal was strong with our old phones, but since day one of "upgrading" to our new phones it has been horrible. We have called more than three times about this issue. Several different reps has tried multiple techniques to help us, we were told "the tower that we were getting our signal from was malfunctioning", told "they switched us to another tower that would get our signal strength back", told "to cut our phones off/restart, and they would call back in five minutes". Neither of them EVER called us back.
Calling or going to the stores is no help at all either. Now we're stuck with this extremely poor signal. Cricket Wireless was the best in our rural area that actually provide us with a strong signal. That's why we switched from our previous provider. But as of a few weeks ago they are just as terrible as the rest we've tried.
You know the name fits them well, because ALL we hear is Crickets when trying to use our services.
I placed an order for new service on a brand new account with Cricket Wireless. Their current promotional offer was for a Samsung A10e for the price of $9.99, instead of its regular pricing, if the customer ports in a new number to Cricket. I successfully did port a number from another carrier to Cricket Wireless.
After the number successfully ported out from my old carrier to Cricket, I received an order confirmation confirming the successful transfer and opening of my new Cricket account. But it failed to include the Samsung A10e phone I specifically ordered for $9.99 on the order. When calling their customer service I was advised that they cannot correct their error and send me the Samsung A10e for $9.99, as they promised before I ported my number to them.
Only get 1 bar most of the time. Living in Clearwater Fl. Big city and its the worst! They throttle the bandwidth all the time to 1 bar. Hate it.
Coverage is terrible. Can't make or receive calls unless you have WiFi calling barely able to receive or send text. Charges existing customers upgrade fee on top of having to purchase a new phone.
I ordered an in stock phone from Cricket to upgrade. The phone never shipped. I then spent a week dealing with incompetent customer service representatives. I'm told the phone is not in stock. When will it be in stock? Unknown. Cancel the order. Can't do it. Give me a supervisor. Lose the call. Call back. Am told order is canceled. A lie. Am told the phone is in stock and will ship. A lie. Am told UPS has the phone. A lie. Am told phone is ready for shipment waiting for UPS. A lie. He's just fishing trying to tell me what he thinks I want to hear. Finally get a supervisor who offers no solution other than wait for the phone to be in stock or open a trouble ticket to cancel the order. Can't just cancel it now.
Sunday, when I placed the order, the Cricket website showed the phone in stock.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it's in stock.
Thursday it shows out of stock.
Friday it has been completely removed from the website.
And they tell me to wait for it to be in stock again? Clearly they will never get the phone again. Other phones on the website show out of stock, but are still there. The supervisor says' he will open a ticket to cancel the order. Then I will be refunded my money. I imagine it will take weeks for me to get my money back so I went ahead and filed a dispute with my bank.
In a nutshell, Cricket Wireless cellular service is great. I never had an issue with it. On the other hand, customer service is incompetent and useless. If you want good inexpensive cellular service then Cricket is the place to go. But if you ever have to deal with customer service then you had better dig in because you will be dealing with people that are useless morons. They will give you vague answers. They will lie to you. They will over non solutions to your issue.
Despite the excellent cellular service, I've left Cricket due to the horrible customer service.
I recently switched to Cricket Wireless for 3 phones. The sales person sold me on the Unlimited Plus Plan for all phones. They 2 phones I had with me were switched over and we headed home, we did not try out the hot spot until we got home. We knew that the phone we did not take was going to have to be replaced since it was an old flip phone. When we did the hot spot on the 2 that were set up only 1 worked. When I spoke with support they said said that phone (galaxy 4) would not work. I accepted this and went online to find a replacement for the flip phone. I purchased a Galaxy A 6 (which is on THEIR list of phones that work with cricket Hot spot. Well, it didn't. Contacted Cricket and told that even though it is on the list that since I did not buy it from cricket I was out of luck and would have to buy from them for Hot Spot to work. So, I was switched over and sold Unlimited Plus on 2 phones they should have known would not work on Unlimited Plus (the Plus by the way is the Hot spot) and bought A Galaxy A6 (which is on the list of phones that work)r to replace the flip phone that I had planned on replacing beforehand. Bottom Line Is sold service for phones they knew would not work and told the phone on their list which I purchases elsewhere would have to be replaced with a phone from Cricket if I want the Hot spot... Beware and check everything before paying a penny to them. David W
Paid for a new device and service in Seffner mango cricket less then a week my phone was deducted so I went 9 days without a phone also when I purchased service I made it clear to the manager who is no longer with the company now of the date I'd like to pay the bill 3 times and sure as my name it was entered in the system wrong so I wouldn't refer CRICKET WIRELESS to anyone the customer service team is no help I'm not sure why they call it that go any where but to CRICKET WIRELESS they can keep there credit I'm switching carrier's. A unsatisfied customer
I was cricket's biggest fan for years! I had a flip phone with unlimited data and messaging for a total of $25 a month. Awesome! No problems! Then I got a smart phone with a 2GB data plan. In over a year I never exceeded the data limit. Not even close! All I ever did was read news articles on the internet. Never streamed movies. Never watched youtube videos. Even those times when I was away from wifi and using the phone constantly, I never exceeded the limit... until now.
About a year after signing up for the plan, I suddenly used up all my data by the middle of the month. The next month all my data was used up by the fourth of the month. And this month my data was gone by the second of the month. I can still access the internet, but the speeds are very slow and "somehow" the sites I most frequently access don't even connect for hours. The scam is utterly transparent. Cricket is causing my data usage to be falsely exceeded very quickly so that I am forced to upgrade to a more expensive plan. I expect that if I upgraded to anything but the unlimited plan, the same thing would happen in a year.
Their customer service people might as well be robots, for all the help they offer. They simply keep repeating that you have used all your data and suggest that the real culprit is mysterious apps that are downloading all the data... even though I've disabled automatic updates. Cricket is running a very dishonest and illegal scam. I would advice people to stay away.
I had Cricket Wireless for less than a month, they were $20 less than my old carrier and looking over the coverage map it showed perfect coverage around my home and work. That was not the case. At this time I was also in the market for a new phone since I had, had the same one for the last 3 years so I purchased a $400 Iphone 7+ when going into their service. When I decided to leave they refused to unlock my phone (which they ARE ABLE to do) so that I could go back to my previous carrier. I spent 30 minutes over chat with a representative that stated he could not help me (and could care less) because I had not been with the company for 6 months. Why would I have service with a company for 6 months that I never had good service with and never received half of my text messages?! This rep directed me to sprint and sprint then directed me to Apple. Apple stated they were unable to unlock the phone and the carrier was definitely able to do so. At this point mind you Cricket had already cancelled my account so I had no phone (using my boyfriends phone). I called Cricket one more time in hopes of getting somewhere with an escalation and that did not get me anywhere. He stated there was a way around it but it would cost money. Why in the world did I just spent $400 on a phone just to have to turn around and pay someone even more money to unlock it? I am beyond livid and I may or may not be able to keep the same number I have had for over 10 years now. Absolutely horrible customer service and absolute false advertising when it comes to the coverage map. There should be something in their policy that states if the service isn't what it's suppose to be then they either 1) need to buy the phone back at the price they sold it to the customer for or 2) need to unlock the phone. Of course neither of these options were offered to me. I just wasted almost 4 hours of my life. Thank you for absolutely nothing Cricket.
The good - on the AT&T net work for coverage is good. Cost for 4 lines for prepaid service is about as cheap as you can find. That's about all the good I can say.
The bad - when something goes wrong, customer service is a nightmare! A week ago yesterday my main phone number was ported out of my account without my permission or authorization. I have been on the phone with "customer service" EVERY DAY since and there is still no fix for this problem. I use my phone for business so this is a big problem. Their call center is clearly outsourced to an out of country call center as I have yet to speak with anyone who speaks very good English nor do they understand me very well. When I try to escalate to a higher authority they can't do anything. Additionally, they have basically told me they are "researching" to determine if I am telling the truth about my account (i. E. they think I requested the number be ported out) which is asinine. Why would I sabotage my own account? Why can they not resolve this in less than a week (much less within the same day)? What happened to the customer is always right? Anyway, your choices are (1) roll the dice with cricket that nothing will go wrong and you'll never have to deal with customer service or (2) stay away! I recommend #2.
I'm so annoyed with the run-around you get with this company, can't even express it enough. I suspended my grandson's phone because he lost it in Wisconsin and we live in Oklahoma. First off, I could never get to a human to talk to about the situation when I called Customer Service to see if we could just activate his back-up phone. Finally, my grandson is now back home and I want to take the suspension off. My daughter goes into the local store here, of course they can't do it and keep telling her it's suspended for non-payment; nope, I have auto-pay. After may daughter explained that for the umpteenth time, he finally gets it but can't do anything about it. I call customer service again to have the suspension removed, called the store to see if they can now activate my grandson's back-up phone and he can't tell me that unless I'm there in person... why do we have a pin number then? So annoyed with all the hassle... never again!
Answer: That's what they do best. Lie. When I first joined I was trying to get the New Customer deal. But they did not Honor it.
Answer: The bbb is definitely no help. Lawyers are out for themselves. Post the truth on every review platform you can. They work. Im a professional reviewer for a major home improvement warehouse and they do get results. Cricket is the worst company i have ever dealt with. Expose them
