Even if the site looks amazing, very professional and shows such a diversity of quality products at a decent price, COOKSTORE.CA is a scam! BEWARE!
The ordering process is regular, they grab your money and confirm the purchase by email and claim they will send you a follow up email to tell you when the product will be shipped.
As you can imagine, the shipping confirmation will never come. Have fun calling the 1-800 number as you have 2 choices that ends up nowhere:
CHOICE 1: they tell you contact customer service through email... which is useless because they dont reply
CHOICE 2: talk to a representative for further info on products... which will leave you waiting for 15 minutes until you get the choice prompt back, select again and wait for another 15 min to finally get a message that they are experiencing technical difficulties, try your luck later.
Check BBB, they have tons of complaints on their backs. Seems like the only place where they actually answer.
Cookstore took my money and after several emails apologized for the one month delay in delivery. That was their last communication despite several follow up emails from me when there was still no delivery. 2 1/2 months later I have not received my order. A little (unfortunately subsequent) research on the web showed their "store" to be a rented warehouse. The company last listing on any Ontario business registry is 2011. Lesson learned - do your research first if you and your friends have never heard of the enterprise. Be warned!
Too bad because I wanted to buy Canadian
Ordered a SMEG kettle - website said it was in stock. After a few weeks I emailed them to ask them the status of my order. They said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could ship it. I asked them to cancel the order and I haven't heard from them since. They won't answer my many emails, you can only get an automated message that tells you to email them when you try and call them. They have my 250 dollars and I have nothing. I am basically being ghosted. Merry Xmas. Don't trust this unethical company.
I wrote an earlier review to share my experience and am following-up to say that after waiting 2 months, I still have not received a refund, or product, and the company has not called or emailed me. I've reported them to Windsor PD who told me they "know who they are" and have received complaints about them. I also found the warehouse address and also a POBox, which is not listed on their website, and another location, in another city. I find that suspicious. I wrote to BBB and filed a complaint with them. I also wrote a review in the yellow pages but they rejected my review, claiming I had mentioned the merchant? The address listed for that Cookstore.ca location is in York, ON. I would never order from this company as they clearly stole my money and am working with my credit card company to get my refund.
I had previously ordered an item pre-Covid with no issues so I felt comfortable ordering again from Cookstore.ca. This time I ordered and was charged for a product which stated it usually ships in 7 to 14 days. I wasn't notified of shipping after 14 days so I contacted them and was informed the product was not scheduled to be in stock for 2 more months. Against my better judgement, I decided to wait as they assured me they would ship it once in stock. Two months later and no word from them. Cookstore.ca contact number leads to a recording instructing to email them. No response from them after 3 emails over 9 days. Now my product on their website is listed as "out of stock". This appears to be a crooked business. They either forgot about my order or intentionally sold out new stock during black Friday period knowing they had my money in their back pocket. I am working with MasterCard on a chargeback. Mastercard has been helpful. Cookstore.ca have had my money for 3 months and still won't respond to my legitimate emails that are trying to determine what's going on? Buyers beware. I no longer recommend this business.
Do not order from this company. They charge your credit card but don't ship anything, they don't answer your emails, when you call, they put you on hold then hang up on you so you have to call again only to be put on hold and then be hung up on again. Nobody ever answers the phone. I will have to report the issue to my bank for a refund.
Do NOT place an order with this site, it's a scam. Got a confirmation # but never any notice of shipping. Tried calling and sending emails, never EVER got an answer or replay. Beware!
Cookstore.ca is a fraudulent website. They are happy to take your money but will never actually ship your order. Everything I ordered was marked "in-stock" and said it would "ship within 12-14 days". It has now been 2 months and I have not received my items or any updates. Customer Service is no longer responding. I will be forced to complete a chargeback in order to get my money back from these scammers. Avoid them at all costs and support another retailer who actually wants your business.
Looked for cookware for daughter's new home. Promising site with good prices. Placed 2 orders on mid November and my credit card was charged promptly. If only the goods ordered were shipped as promptly. At this point, neatly 3 weeks later, nothing. Called their number: recorded message on repeat with no option to talk to anyone or even leave a message. There is an email address on the web site and another included on that recorded message. The latter promised a response in one business day. No reply. I can only conclude this business is a fraud with a nice storefront but nothing behind it except some scammers. I will be working with my bank and the police to shut these guys down.
Worked with BMO, alerting them to the problem. Ended up spending a little time with their fraud department to explain what I believed was going on. No direct response but the charges were reversed on the next statement.
We bought the small stainless steel French press and wanted to return it and buy a larger on.

I ordered 2 frying pans on October 9th. I immediately wrote to customer service to ask for the $10 discount I forgot to apply to my order and they gave it to me. I wrote again a few weeks later because I had not received any notification of delivery. They told me that it would be done within two weeks. 1 month later, I still haven't heard from them so I wrote again but this time no answer. I have been trying to reach them for a month without success. I haven't figured out how to request a refund either.
Cook store took my money and never shipped my items. They won't reply to emails but last time I heard from them my stuff was apparently shipping soon. I'm still waiting. If you need Christmas gifts from them, be sure to order a year in advance. Just kidding. Even 1 year of lead time won't help.
Absolutely despicable
I ordered a Emile Henry stewpot Jan 2022. The site did say that there would be a two week delay. It's been 11 months now and I'm still waiting. They never proactively provide me with updates; I have to chase them each time. I've complained so much that they have thrown in an All Clad whisk. I managed to buy the product from another provider but am hanging out for this one as I want to give it as a gift. Not sure what year I'll receive it. They've got the money, I've got nothing.

I have been trying to resolve this for 3 months and at this point they do not even reply to our emails.

CookStore is the worst company I've ever dealt with. I placed a large order in June. It's now the end of October! I wouldn't have heard anything from them in terms of an update if I hadn't have inquired. This is pathetic. Shop ANYWHERE else. Don't get scammed like I did.
I placed an order for Fondue equipment in September and told it would be 2-3 weeks. I can not speak to anyone except for Sales - and they know nothing about accounts. My business is currently on hold until I get this equipment. I would not order from this company.
I did an order sept. 1st, and add the items to the cart by clicking (ADD TO CART) but after they take the money (paiement), they were quiet, I had to do a follow-up to learn that the product are not in stock...

Answer: I am one of those who hates supporting the world wide behemoth online store so randomly bought from this Canadian company. The item I bought was not available in any local retail stores which is still my preference for shopping.(Victorinox - Blue 8" Fibrox Pro Straight Blade Chef Knife). I placed the order, had the confirmation email shortly, item shipped as expected and I had it in a few days. I'd use them again.
