This "company " is ridiculous. They train their employees to NOT HELP. I dont know if they are jist taking advantage because they know we have to use this company to interact with our incarcerated loved ones/ but because of this factor I believe that the founder of this company cannot be anything less than a piss of $**t. They blantly steal from customers. I literally had $5 bucks on one of my numbers that im no longer using. All I wanted was a darn refund so I could load it to my new number. These heathens wanna send a CHECK for $4.97! And their excuse was there is no card on file! Such a lie. I have my card stored to the account and thats how i make my payments. Then none of the reps there care enough to try and figure out the proper way to get it done.! Dont want to work. Dont want to help. But they call it "customer care" when they reallly dont gaf. Im going to the "BBB". You all should do the same if you want to help with shutting these no-empathy-having-$#*!-theiving- $#*!- non-helping- $#*! group of degenerates down.

Thieves
April 29, 2024

ConnectNetwork is a den of thieves. In order to make any calls you have to deposit funds into their service called AdvancePay Phone. There's a minimum amount you can deposit and the fees are ridiculous. Well, say you get to the end of your friend's incarceration, and you have $24.00 left on your account. If you don't use it, after 180 days they just take it. In order for your funds not to be forfeited, you have to sign into your account before 180 days expire and keep signing in every 180 days at least. You can call an 800 number to get a refund of your deposited funds, but they run you around so much to get a refund, they make it almost impossible. This is a scam that should be investigated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. A total ripoff from start to finish. I really had no idea this is how it worked, but I lost $20.36 one time and $24.04 the second. DO NOT USE THIS FRAUDULENT SERVICE UNLESS YOU PLAN YOUR PHONE USAGE DOWN TO THE LAST RED CENT.

NC switch from jpay
September 6, 2023

This system is horrible, can't get money to love ones due to an error message that I am not a depositor. Connect Network is saying call the facility and the facility is saying call Connect Network. I can't keep going in circles. Can we just go back to JPAY; it wasn't broken!

For as long as I can remember it has been 2.40 for a 15 min call plus tax per call on top of a 3.20 cent fee that is taken out of each deposit which is already too much but I am now paying 3.70 per call plus tax on each call and never got a notice that rates were going up. It just started out of knowhere without notice or anything. This is not right and they shouldn't be allowed to raise the rates that much more but they should have to give notice to customers before they add funds.

You steal my money. Twice i send money to Connect network. It was for the phone. My son said he didn't get it. Twice he said he didn't get it. Well i read all the complaints of this company. I receive a receipt thru my email that claims he received. I think this email is to cover up their stealing money from me and probably others. Now that make me want to get a lawyer.Maybe taking it to the TV station. Its not right! They will reap what they Sow! I wont let it go! I will pray and fight until people get their money back! The trust fund was the only way i got some money to him. They steal from u on the phone! Beware they are not for you! Rip off Company. The Jail system don't care either. These people going to Reap what they Sow!

You will not get a refund. I called connect network they transferred me to a sub company 4 times and the sub company said 4 times they do not have my information so they are not able to help me. I've ask to speak with a supervisor he tried to transfer me to. I don't recommend this company if you have to give them money to contact the people you want to contact. Keep it old fashioned write letters and go see in person.

Taking advantage of people that are in need of making a call. When calling to understand the process, frustrated as everything I have been told over 3 calls, each representative states the other gave me "misinformation", the 1st 2 men were at least trying to be helpful, though contradicting, but this SARCASTIC, RUDE & ARGUMENTATIVE staff - demonstrate they DO NOT CARE.

I hope the arrogant male I spoke with, finds himself incarcerated & in need of making a call, irony is justice.

This is the most worthless excuse of a company I have ever seen. They double bill you, then if you complain they will suspend your account. After 6 weeks, and dozens of calls, they tell me I owe a balance. I tried to pay the balance online, but they said I have to pay with a cashiers check or money order. I send them a cashiers check to avoid a 10 day hold, and they send it back to me. Then they tell me if the account is inactive for 2 months I have to reapply for an account and wait for that to go through before I can put any money on anyones books. They wont give me a corporate number and every person you talk to tells you something different. They're playing games with peoples lives.

They just steal your deposit after 90 days
January 17, 2023

I put $30 in to allow an inmate to call our office. I assumed it would stay there until used. A few moths later about $24.00 it was forfeited for nonuse. I called customer service to ask that the funds be restored as I received a phone call recently and there was no balance. They refused to re-credit my account.

Rip off
January 5, 2023

I spend so much money trying to talk to my loved one and I call about some calls that were distorted and we could not hear each other and they will not refund any calls. No matter how much you add to your account, they take over 3.00 per deposit. You shouldn't have to be charged fees every time to deposit money and then charged for every call. It is a rip off!

Had money I put money on for phone service in September because it was running down. I talked to my friend twice in September. I missed a call in November. Anyway I get a message from this company stated the account hadn't been used for over 180 days and they would resolve it immediately. The message was left Dec 23rd. Looked at my records I last used it September 23rd. That's only 90 days not 180 days.

My account is being charged 44% for taxes on each phone call made to the Dane County, WI jail inmate. I have contacted ConnectNetworks several times to find out how it is legal for WI to charge this percentage for taxes and they can not tell me. They keep saying that it is a State thing and there is no one to talk to about this. This percentage amount for taxes appears to be illegal in my mind, but what do I know? Seems like just another way to drain people of their money.

Beware of theft
August 2, 2022

Don't throw your money away,, the minute you open an account to send money to your Loved one in jail, they steel your money immediately. I have called every day for a week straight trying to find out what happened to the money I sent to my brother. He never got it. To avoid refunding, they pass you around and make you wait on hold for hours until you give up. Don't put yourself threw this. I am turning this over to channel 3 news. Let them have there fun with this. This has been thee worst experience ever.

I have never had to do this before but my BF got in some trouble and went to jail. I used Securus and never had a problem. He was transferred to prison and they said I had to use connect network. I made my account and added money so he can call me. Well so far I still have not been able to talk to him. I called customer service and like everyone else on here I got a person I couldnt hear, or understand and he said would take 3-5 days to resolve. What are they resolving? I wasnt told. The website is horrible I never got any confirmation for anything. I just want to talk to my loved one it should not take this long.

I hadn't had to use this site in 15 months I was in shock how high their prices r now. It's bad enough our loved one is in jail and they take nearly 50% of the $ u put in! I put $15 & & only got $7.00 out of it, the call I do get is another $6.95 to gtl basically all I get is 1 call out of my $15.00 THANK U GOD my loved 1 comes home today I HATE gtl for taking advantage of us bc even prison calls r down to $1.00 they used to b $3.65 I wonder if there is another way to send $ to a loved one in county? Not to mention the customer svs guy I spoke to was RUDE! He had a thick accent & tells me "get closer to ur phone I can't understand u" I told him "my phone is already on my face there is no other way to speak into my phone" IDK if people told him often he's hard to understand bc he was and no not Hispanic, he kept saying "Do u want to continue this call?" He was a JERK!

GTL Connect & its sibling GTL Telmate are two of a kind
- frequently broken website
- frequently broken login page
- broken webpages
- broken processes to add funds
- mobile number verification is broken/ bugged
- has had no Quality Assurance performed on it
- incredibly rude, obnoxious and arrogrant Customer Advisors who have a low level of understanding, low level of English and are too keen to quit the call if they don't understand what to do. Even the Supervisors struggle to resolve problems that are not on their list of 20 questions.

How is an organisation with such an important / responsible role as this, allowed to recruit low-skilled workers who struggle to answer the most basic questions?

I received notifications from a legal team showing evidence that millions-upon-millions of dollars were basically STOLEN by this "business".

My best friend was UNJUSTLY imprisoned & I was one of the FEW trying to financially help him during that whole fiasco. The NH Dept of Corrections gave me ConnectNetwork as my "only option".

Calls constantly failed & my best friend told me he NEVER saw a penny I sent him for "canteen".
That enrages me... because I am NOT a "rich man" & I knew he needed help during that legal fiasco.
I hope to see FULL RESTITUTION once the case is determined.

Connect Network... DOESN'T "Connect"
March 3, 2019
Previous review

I had been using Connect Network for a while to communicate with a friend of mine who has been incarcerated over a farce of a conviction... he's my best friend and it's important to be able to communicate with him and be there for him.

At first, it worked.
Next, messages failed.
Bug fixed.
Didn't get my credits back, but no big deal... at first.
Next, the upgrades gave me the option to send video and pics... but they'd never load...& it cost MORE.
I ended up adding phone minutes and I received NOTHING after paying $15!

The final straw that pushed me to this review is that GTL (Connect Network) has made my username and password "not exist" any longer after I filed a complaint.

Absolutely absurd.
