They use java script its a known weakness to hackers if you have used this site in the past they will have your name and password not to mention the site itself is a known scam to steal your money its not free
I selected a three month trial costing $7 each month and was charged 9, then 18, then another 18 after 3 months and found that the charge was being autaomatically debited. When I contacted them for a refund, a frighteningly shady man wrote back that I my paid period would end in sometime in 2023 and after change back to free statusa. He stated that I agreed to Terms of Service when signing but when I scrolled down very long Terms of Service cuold not find information about being automatic debits and no refund policy. In addition, whicah I wrote him, these importants facts should be visible with the plan selections. Thae level of shadiness is surprising, scary, depressing, and enraging. Please beware!
This is an auto renew rip off that won't give a refund even though I requested it within 24 hours of the charge and I hadn't used it nor will I use it ever. I took the 3 month trial expecting to review it before the auto renew date and, due to family matters, missed that date by 24 hours. I called their customer service and spoke to supervisor Crystal who just said "too bad", we don't issue refunds under any circumstance! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and suggest everyone to do the same!
Classmates.com offered a three-month membership for $9. On July 11t, 2022, I decided to take advantage of that. On October 11,2022 I decided to check my bank statement. Classmates.com had charged me $18. I immediately contacted PayPal to have the charge reversed because I did not agree to an automatic billing renewal. I made sure of that when I agreed to purchase the three-month membership. I also immediately contacted classmates.com and discontinued any membership. Paypal.com responded that classmates.com was requesting a copy of my billing agreement something thar I never received from them and that they in fact possessed. Moreover, the onus was on classmates.com to prove that I had agreed to an automatic billing renewal not that I had a billing agreement. Realizing that this was an antic being played by classmates.com I immediately contacted my bank and had the charge reversed.
Classmates.com are rip-off artist! Please make sure that you review your billing statements and make sure that you do not pay a penny more than what you agreed to. My regret is that this organization will probably continue to use my information as though I am a user of the site which I am not. I will try to find a way to prevent that from happening. Please take care!
It is impossisble to cancel them. One has to jump through hoops. I could not log on after I paid but I still had to pay them. Do not EVER log on to their site. Worst company I ever dealt with.
I didn't find anything useful on the service. They will sign you up for and automatic renewal and they double the price when they do it.
After receiving offers from this website, I took an introductory offer for $3.50 but the website didn't mention anything about recurring charges. Now they've charged me $7.58 for another month. I called and they wouldn't remove the charge. It's barely worth that introductory offer.
Well guess I am not the only one running into a mess with Classmates. I got notice a few days ago that a renewal was paid from my PayPal account. When I checked PayPal I found they had paid $96 for a 2 year renewal that I was never notified about. PayPal did not get the money back since they said I had no documentation to prove Classmates couldn't charge me! Holy cow! Classmates was happy to move my account to non-renewal status per some setting and no more charges would occur. Classmates will not refund the $96 they charged me even though I said I was canceling on the exact date of renewal. Oh my where has this country gone with such scrupulous charging and non-willing to discuss the cancellation of membership. BAD companies, both of them, stay away or you will end up with similar non-agreed upon charging.
I just found a $9.00 charge on my credit card I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. These guys are CROOKS! They also are impossible to contact. SCUM!
90 day trial turned into another 90 but much more $$$$ then it can be a year. I called them 1 hour an hour later they gave me the run please stay away from classmates is a con and a rip off.
Site will will take your money by making unauthorized forward billing notifying one after the have all real ready charge you for renewals at highest possible price option. Also Site takes person info and shares or sells your info?! Facebook some how ends up with personal photos posted at Classmates & visa versa?
This appears to be a Data collecting (gathering) tool for commercial interests and is abusing its customer base. Users beware.
Signed up. When opening the site it was a mishmash of intelligible indiscernible images appearing like a puzzle. The images would not respond to clicking on. Its a joke.
Was charged a $60 renewal fee for a service I ended almost year ago. Tried to resolve on their site but kept telling me they had no info on me at all. PayPal would not refund because I have no cancelation info. Called classmates & waited over an hour on hold to be told there is nothing they can do for me. Stay away from this site. Total waste of time & money! I suggest reporting them to BBB. Not that it will do me any good but enough people report them, maybe they will be shut down!
Unhappy, and have contacted. Hoping for a reply more than hope. I ordered a 1963 yearbook and paid, they sent me a 2010 yearbook, the WRONG book. How can they make that mistake, unless shipping is just grabbing books and sending wrong ones?
I made sure that i turned off renewal on classmates but the f UCKING thieves took my money anyway. F uckers robbed me in broad daylight. SO KEEP IN MIND EVEN IF U TURN OFF THE RENEWAL CLASSMATES WILL STILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. F UCKING THIEVES
Stay a way from these people, it is a total scam They NEVER have any of the people in your class / No one talks to each other / RIP -OFF
They automatically put my account on automatic renewal the same day my credit card was charged I contacted them and they declined to refund my money they do this all the time this outfit is a scam save your money and leave this outfit alone.
If I could give this site a 0 star, I would. Unbelievable, how you do not get any reminders on upcoming renewal fees. On top of that, they do not have a deactivation on there site. Contacted customer support over 4 times via email and finally received an email. Take a look at the attachment. Stealers is what this company is! Beware!
I had canceled this account more than once. They finally stopped sending me emails but continued to charge my credit card. Insisting that they stop is ineffective. I was forced to cancel the credit card and open a different card to get the billing to stop. When I decided to forward a complaint I was not surprised to see the terrible rating and multiple people who had similar experiences.
There are a disturbing number of companies who scam internet users and this one is among the worst. My strong advice to anyone is DO NOT OPEN OR ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE.
THE COMPLAINTS ARE ALL SIMILAR. ANYONE WHO AGREES TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT IS SCAMMED AND STOLEN FROM.
I will file a complaint through the credit card. At a point, the process is so time-consuming that most people just give up because it cost more to file the claim than you could recover.
I am a busy business owner. My time is valuable and taking the time to write a long and complicated complaint will cost me. The best thing I can do is warn any potential subscriber; you will have money stolen from you by these people. Stay away...
My name is Patrick Kelly, I graduated from Rummel High School in 1974.
The money was taken out of my account to renew and when I requested a refund they said they don't give refunds. I did change the auto pay to not happen again. Just beware- no refunds. Not worth the $60 a year.
