Can't do anything without a subscription even though they state free accounts. Paid for an account and really not anything special or useful. Tried to use their "easy cancellation" process 3 times. Kept getting renewed. Finally had to get credit card company involved before they stopped. Scam, scam, scam.

I received an email recently that indicated that Classmates renewed me for three years. No advance email to tell me that my renewal was coming up, nothing. I called and they said that three years ago I checked auto-renew on their website. Such bull$#*!! I never auto-renew. They said no refund was coming even though I called on the day of the charge! I now have called my credit card company who is researching the matter. Classmates must really need the money. This is thievery at its worst.

I was OK with the site and have been a member for a few years, but things have changed. Why they have to continually change the format and add/remove features is beyond me - but maybe it simply justifies their overpriced fee. They changed things and I cannot post as I had in the past. Under "NOTES", it shows I have 5,000 characters available to post what's on my mind - typically life's update. The change only lets me type 200 characters and it stops. I have contacted the help people 4 times about this and I simply get a follow-up email each time from a different person stating they are working on it. I think it has been near 3 months and no resolve - just a generic response just like the ones I see here from Classmates. Sorry to disconnect from some class mates, but the subscription is too much for what I use it for and the IT department hasn't a clue on how to fix a program issue - one they surely made when "upgrading" the site to provide me with a better experience. Does anyone know what "less is more" or "keep it simple" means anymore?

I went on classmates.com to view a picture of my late father's senior yearbook photo. I did not give any information other than my email address. I did not purchase anything nor did I choose to become a member of anything they offered of any sort. I noticed that it said that one of my late fathers high school friends was still alive.(which I later found out was a complete lie, he had passed away years beforehand). And I had the opportunity to email this person for free so, I did. About 2 months or so later I received a text message from my bank saying that there was a strange and suspicious reoccurring charge on my debit card and when I called my bank to see what it was, lo and behold it was classmates.com trying to charge me about $46, and it actually had already successfully charged me that amount a couple times beforehand... but for some reason my bank had never warned me about the prior charges. Since some time had already passed before the previous charges were made, there was nothing that I could do, I had already lost that money which totaled over $92. I was luckily able to get the new occurring charge stopped by my bank. I had to get a completely new debit card, and change all of my automatic payments with a new card number which is very annoying and time consuming. When I emailed classmates.com about this I unsurprisingly got no response, so I had to go through the Better Business Bureau and then manually find a way to unsubscribe and block my email address from classmates.com. I absolutely in NO way EVER gave them ANY credit card information, so how they were able to make multiple charges to my card beats the hell out of me. Obviously they put spyware on their website and they are complete SCAMMERS. I did NOT unknowingly or willingly subscribe to any monthly service or paid subscription that they offered. Everything that I did was supposedly supposed to be 100% free. BEWARE of this website. If I could give it less than one star I would. These people are criminals and this company should be completely taken down and be put out of business because they are scammers. How this website still exists is very surprising to me since the majority of the reviews that I've seen about them are 99% negative. I wish I had read these reviews prior to visiting the website myself. BEWARE of classmates.com.

I cancelled my membership some months ago and they are still charging me. I don't need to add 100 characters to state my point

Beware of this company! I signed up for a year and tried to cancel a year later on Saturday 5/25. The company is closed on weekends but they managed to charge my PayPal on 5/25 for $60!
When I emailed them for the $60 refund, they won't respond. They don't have a phone number listed so I can't speak to anyone.
5 emails later, still no response.
Zero customer service!

Many years ago I purchased a special offer lifetime membership which I used for a long time without issue. Now that my 50th reunion is coming up, suddenly I can't access my account and customer service says there's no such thing as a lifetime membership! RIP off.

Classmates.com does not understand the unsubscribe function. I have unsubscribed more times than I can count yet they usually resubscribe me in a few weeks without my permission. I am now reporting them as spam and do not let Google unsubscribe. They won't take NO for an answer.

Was notified by PayPal 1/11/24 $96 was paid out to Classmates. I called Classmates to cancel subscription and was told it would cancel 1/11/2026. I was told I was notified of the renewal and price increase which I have no record of. Reviewing the hundreds of complaints filed with The Better Business Bureau, Classmates has perfected the art of legal theft and should be avoided.

They are a Scam and Fraudulant! Uncooperative and Rude. I was charged $96.00 on 12/07/2023 without my approval. They said that they renew every 4 years and one must let them know after automatically doing so to cancel before the next auto charge. Do not do business with this company they are not to be believed.

Stoe 99 dollars from me without any notice. Charged me that much to renew and did not tell me of the pending charge. Did not get refund even though I asked for one. Crooked. NOt worth the robbery. I was dubious about spending 12 dollars a year to see my fat old classmates. Run away from these guys. Robbery

Classmates business practice leaves a lot to be desired. Don't give them you credit card. They take your money and you have no way to get it back. Buyer beware.

After numerous years I'm going on this site and reading about the classmates I finally decided to make the plunge and join their group with the $10.30 for 3 month subscription yes I agree to the agreement I did not know that I was agreeing to a automatic charge to my credit card monthly after I was recharged a second time of $21.30 I believe I called up the cancel took me forever to get somebody on the phone and finally I was told that they have no cancellation policy I was flabbergasted this is the second time in 2 weeks that this was done to me by classmates and also another website I put a complaint in through PayPal turns out that there's nothing they can do and I figured that before I put the complaint in but if anybody ever wants to try to get on to this site please do not ever sign up cuz it's the worst thing you'll ever do if you look at the reviews which I normally do but this time I didn't because I've been on it for off and on for years the site is only rated with one point star so as my title is scammed that's what I believe classmate thing it's a shame that people are out there trying to join this to connect with former classmates and these people found a way to rip you off please tell all your friends and anybody else never join this site I'm just glad I caught this mistake before it got too far I can't imagine how many other classmates out there have gone on and not even realize they're being charged

When I first learned of this site, I was given a 'lifetime' membership. I understand things change, but there was no communication or exceptions. I have yet to return and my school had their 50th anniversary last Sept, which I did not attend.

I got on Classmates years ago but always just used the free version. It wasn't very useful. They were always sending me emails about people who were not in my class and most I had never heard of. I never signed up for any payment option. Then one day I got a notice from PayPal that they had paid $96 to Classmates! I contacted PayPal and they said it was a recurring charge that I had signed up for. I had not! PayPal was not very helpful. They said there was nothing they could do until they contacted Classmates. I called my credit card company and they credited my account immediately and sent me a new card with different numbers. I have cancelled my Classmates account. I would like to cancel my PayPal account but they won't let me because they consider this an "open claim". This all happened six months ago. They said they can't close it until they hear back from Classmates!

I am constantly getting emails from them telling that someone has added a new photo. It's a lie. The photos have never been updated by the people that they claim.

I signed up for services, introductory rate. They say it's automatic renewal and I was told. I wasn't. Then they double billed me claiming I signed up under 2 different email. I didn't They refused to credit the double billing. Furthermore, they notify me of contacts from people from different classes. I'm overwhelmed with notifications. Then they say, I contacted myself.

I did NOT sign up for automatic renewal. They said I did. They are liars. Watch yourself with this company.
