The list of 166 former classmates, supposedly yreaching out to me, included mostly duplicates of people I have never known. 3 only were actual former classmates.
I once browsed their website upon clicking on their ad, just to see if I knew anyone, but I hardly recognised anyone and definitely no one worthwhile. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. But, boy, did I really regret ever checking out this site. I would have never signed up for any of their products or memberships! Why would I? However, they insist that I did, and I was charged a total of $158.70! Now that's a lot of money for a person on Disability, who never even was interested in their products or ever received any product. I can swear on my life that I never signed up for anything, (and I consider myself a spiritual person). Again, why would I? I figure this must be some kind of mistake or even fraud. The rep, Paula, was so rude; she cut me off while I was still speaking and hung up on me just because I politely asked her just for one month's refund. I never was impolite to her nor had I ever raised my voice to her. How unprofessional and greedy this company seems to be! In my humble opinion, this merchant isn't worth any of your time or money!
I have not received notifications of profile visits or anything since January 2023! Everything on my end is how it should be. I called them but you have to pay a 3rd party for help! Extremely disappointed in classmates. Com!
THE WORST TRASH SCAM COMPANY ON THE PLANET!
Do not even think about signing up for the trial membership - they will AUTO-RENEW you for 1 year / $60.00 / WITHOUT your consent
The whole site is a FRAUD
FAKE enrolled classmates that they say looked at your portfolio - the classmate is not even remotely involved with the site
TOTAL FRAUD SITE!
STAY AWAY!
I bought a three-year membership for $48 and realized after just a few minutes that I made a horrible mistake. I wanted to plan a reunion. They offered ABSOLUTELY no help whatsoever in getting in touch with my classmates, which is bad enough, but then they FLOODED me with emails from people who graduated either from my high school but not in my class, or from other schools entirely (in other words, people of no interest to me). They are laser-focused on making money and not on helping you get in touch with your classmates. BEYOND WORTHLESS! Sorry there wasn't a No Star review I could have given. They don't deserve the time I spent writing this review except that I felt it important to warn others of their uselessness.
They get a few people you went to school with, then message them that someone looked at your page. Then when you check to see, it's just someone that checked their page that was given the same notice. This goes round and around, never anyone you knew, never a new person. Then it says you have mail, that's them trying to sell you more worthless crap. Then they autobill you a hundred bucks a yeat and won't refund it without sending notice that they are going to bill you.
Classmates is not like they advertise, really no information about your classmates, site hard to navigate.
If you do subscribe they automatically renew your subscription without your consent withb no refunds. Extremely rude staff. They really border on being a scam outfit. From their response to customers you are valued. Its pay for nothing. My advice do not bother with them.
I signed up hoping to learn more about my classmates from 40 years ago. While our class was farily large (more than 800 students), there is no participation from them on Classmates.com. There are usually weeks or even months without a single update.
I've posted a few pictures myself, yet Classmates.com sends me spam constantly asking me to post a picture.
Time to move on.
Claims you can find classmates you potentially know but then hide them behind a paywall. It's impossible to find anyone.
I am 87 years old and all of my classmates are deceased and they charged me 21.60 in march of 2023 saying I had enrolled in December and it was up to me to tell them I no longer wanted to be a member. They refused to refund my money. They are not to be trusted at all!
Said my account was opened in 2001 and charged in 2023. Will not refund a 96 dollar Charge for what I have no idea. This is a rip-off company. I feel very violated as I have no way to battle this company for this charge. For nothing! Don't use this company!
Recently, I received notice from my bank that a $96 payment had been processed by Classmates.com. I did NOT receive any notice or invoice from Classmates.com. When I called, they said the fee was non-refundable! I checked my payment from 2 years ago. It was for $36, and the payment was reversed because I cancelled. This payment is $96! (a 167% increase). Classmates.com used my payment information even though I actually cancelled 2 years ago. When I asked the supervisor how to remove my payment information, she said they did not have any payment information on file. THEN HOW DID THEY PROCESS THIS PAYMENT!?
A supervisor told me that she would email a copy of the payment notice to me, as well as a copy of the original "contract" which says funds are not refundable. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED EITHER DOCUMENT!
This "company" is either TOTALLY INEPT or actually FRAUDULENT! Hard to tell.
I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THEM. They stole $96 from me! I WOULD LIKE MY $96.00 REFUNDED ALONG WITH A WRITTEN GUARANTEE THAT THEY HAVE REMOVED MY PAYMENT INFORMATION FROM ALL OF THEIR FILES!
PLEASE NOTE: I can not submit any "proof of purchase", because I never received ANY invoice or email form Classmates.com. My only notice is the statement from my bank!
I paid for a yearbook and never received it! Then i tried to get in touch with them! WOW talk about impossible,i tried for about 3 weeks and still haven't got my yearbook order yet or my money back.Do not ORDER from them.
Classmates makes it unnecessarily difficult for friends and fellow students to find photos I've posted for them to see. It offers very little to users compared to other social media programs even though Classmates charges membership fees while others are free. And now users encounter numerous advertisements while using the Classmates app, so users pay to view ads! Prepare yourself to be disappointed!
I called to cancel my 85 y/o moms account and get a refund of the yearly fee they auto charged 2 weeks ago. My mother doesn't use classmates and can't even see the computer screen. The supervisor said she'd been using it, but it was me trying to find out if she had an account after seeing it on her discover bill. Mom wasn't using it and didn't have a password to get in. I had to make a password to even see if she had an account. I told her all this and the supervisor argued with me until I was totally frustrated and hung up. Classmates trains their supervisors to be cold, callous, and greedy. This is a company that is taking advantage of elders.
I ordered a yearbook for my husband's NYC-based high school and was sent one from California. When I tried to get a refund for THEIR mistake, they refused! They are not reputable and have scammed far too many individuals! I should have researched Classmates.com BEFORE doing business with them. There are tons of complaints about them online! 'CROOKS & SCAMMERS are we, Classmates.com'... should be their tagline!
It's a nice idea that you could get in touch with your high school buddies or find someone you haven't seen in decades. Classmates offers to get you in touch with your school chums, and maybe it happens to some people, but the reviews are more than 90% negative for a reason. I received an email that said someone from my class was looking for me. So I joined Classmates to get access to the emails. The emails were being sent to my address by Classmates not from my buddies from high school. Also on the list of people supposedly in my class, there were people who were never in my school or my class and several people who had died years ago.
I checked the reviews of the site. It is common for any business to get a few bad reviews, but Classmates had greater than 90% bad reviews and allegations of fraud and abuse. I wanted to cancel the service, and Classmates wanted to charge me for the initial period. I disputed the charge on my credit card. Better to use Facebook to find your long lost friends.
I have spent hours resetting my password and I'm ready to give it up. This site is very complicated.
I thought I was making a one time purchase to use the site, I was charged over 68.00 a month for MANY months via PayPal which is where I discovered the charges.

Kept in touch with multiple high school associates from class of 1975. Also contacted others from graduating classes near 1975. Attended a December 2022 reunion, in Chicago Ridge area, with ROTC graduates and families. With pandemic and decrease in social gatherings in 2021 was glad to maintain friendships over the years. Looking forward to another larger high school reunion in 2023.
