CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS A SCAM! THEY DO NOT PAY OUT ON CLAIMS! AWFUL! My AC broke they would not reimburse the work order claim or a replacement of my AC as stated in their booklet.
Choice home warranty is not reliable its been over 2 weeks to resolve my issue. First we waited almost a week and the told we need to clean the coil.they would not cover that although we change the filters.so we paid for that then told we need refrigerant. They send this moron out. He was not told to fix issue by them so he left. Then almost a week later they send another company out and again we were told they won't cove the coil because it in bad shape. I wanted to cancel on the prorated price,I was told they will prorate but charge for previous calls. I have a voice recording from sales saying they will only pro rete not deduct for previous calls.
In June 2023 I had to replace a covered broken part on my pool equipment. CHW approved the claim and their selected technician used 13 YEARS OLD replacement part to complete the repair. I even sent proof to CHW. They did not care. Decide for yourself whether purchasing a warranty plan from CHW is actually worth it for your home.
So, in 2020, we purchased a home built in 1997 with original appliances and a stinking home warranty from Choice. Dishwasher (life span 15 years) goes out early 2023 and guess who says it stopped working because of neglect...CHOICE. Fast forward to Jul 23 and water heater (original) goes out and at first they said it's NOT covered, even though the plan says it is, so i have to call, scream and use words my mom would not appreciate and so they open a claim, only be denied because a failure after 20 years is NOT normal wear and tear. Buy from Lowes/Home Depot and get a warranty. CHOICE SHOULD BE YOUR LAST...CHOICE!
This company give you the run around. And they are liars. Unethical. I paid upfront for 3.5 years $1,200. When I didn't get anywhere with any of my claims a year after signing up, I had to call like 100 times just to cancel. And when I was finally cancelled my refund to be will be $500 out of the $1200 which means they took from me $700 for one year and just gave me the run around and wasted $65 each visit without getting any claims approved. For the refrigerator claim, one month later and they could not assign a technician. They claimed sears was assigned when no one showed up. I had to replace AC unit and now I have to replace refrigerator because I trusted in a home warranty company that are nothing but scammers. Dont waste your money with them. Horrible. Worse than horrible.
Choice Home Warranty
A technician never came, after 5 days with no power in half my house I was told to hire an electrician and I would be reimbursed.
After many daily calls and your company not being capable of hiring an electrician (wow) until 5 days after initial cali, I was informed to hire an electrician which I did, later that day I was informed that you scheduled a technician. IFOUND AN ELECTRICIAN that came to my house in 90 minutes from my call, do you see a problem with this?
On 7/1/23 I filed an emergency claim due to an inside water main break. CHw never sent anyone out, never provided a claim number, nothing but did tell us to pay a plumber to stop the damage and they would reimburse. They have refused to do so saying once they sent an email with a link and another time stating that I needed to get prior approval for the plumber and fees. So they voided the contract under UCC code title 2
I opened a total policy like most do. Later my AC quit cooling. They stated it must have been an Unkown "Pre-existing condition" and would not cover repairs. BE AWARE, their fine print says they will NOT cover "Unknown" or "Known" Pre-existing conditions. Which means, if they do not want to cover your issue they can play the "Unknown Pre-existing condition" card and you are out of luck. Definitely do NOT reccommend! Their Customer Service is the worst on the [planet weeks go by before any responses. The HVAC tech stated that all in his company and his peers at others will not answer the phone when Chioce calls. They too have been competely ripped off. Terrible company - just terrible. They are vampires. I am out around $2800.00 in repairs and service.
I have not been able to reach a person. I have left emails, messages, I have called, I have requested call backs and nothing. It has been two weeks and no person
ATTENTION VETERANS: Do not use this company! Terrible customer service, long wait times for service, and their technicians do not show up once you schedule an appointment, and when you call the scheduled tech they are extremely rude. They do nothing to make right except say, "You have a reimbursement option." Terrible experience.
Absolutely Horrible company. Took 5 days before a technician showed up for a plumbing problem. Technician stuck his hand out for the $65 fee, took some photos and told me that he had to get approval from the company to complete the repair. He should have it by 10 am the next day. The next day we received an email informing us that the claim was denied. We could appeal and someone would get back to us within 48 hours. It has been over 72 hours and still no contact. AND, we can't get our $65 back! I would have felt better if the technician had put on a mask and robbed us with a weapon. He literally walk in, took our $65 and left!
BUYERS BEWARE, This company is a joke. We will be cancelling this warranty. I'm expecting to be charged an exorbitant cancellation fee. This company is a JOKE! The only reason they got 1 star rating is because there is no zero star.
I have no kitchen sink for 23days already. Pevious home owner purchases this warranty for sales purpose. Leak happened under kitchen counter at the pipe divider after I moved in for 2 weeks. Contacted Choice on their app, never heard back. Called 3 days after become they are in EST timezone and I'm PST. Found out they scheduled a technician on a random day and random time. Tried to contact the technician to reschedule for two days. The technician never pick up the phone, return the call and the voicemail was full. I had to contact Choice again, this time the technician came, I paid $75 and did the inspection. Now Choice refuses to fix it because they claim my home inspection report said the faucet was leaking before the house was purchased, and the leak at the divider under the sink is on the same pipe and therefore it is the same issue. I wonder why they didn't say that when I filed the claim or before I paid the technician for inspection? And I think their reason is not valid because the entire house is on the same pipeline, so their can use the same reason not to fix any leak in the future. Faucet leak is totally a different thing from pipe divider leak at the upstream. I believe this company is a scam. Dont buy your warranty from them, they will use ridiculous reasons to reject your claim and waste your $ and time. And I believe the high reviews you can find somewhere else are fake.
Choice home warranty has proven to be the most fraudulent company I have encountered. We had a technician come out to assess our AC. He identified the problem and the cause of the problem to be "normal wear and tear." Unfortunately, choice home warranty denied our claim stating the coil had been "physically damaged due to misuse, abuse, neglect, or physical damage." This is a blatant lie and misrepresentation of contractual agreements set forth by choice home warranty. We initiated an appeal; however, conveniently the representative isn't available over the weekend. We have an infant and 3 dogs and live in south Florida. We cannot be without AC while this company fiddles around with nonsense. Whatever you do, DO NOT take a warranty with this company. They are liars, fraudsters, and an absolute disgrace to the American people. I will be contacting the BBB (where they already have a horrible C rating). Additionally, I hope to share my experience so the rest of American consumers stay away!
Dear Mr. Mostofi, I hope this email gets to you. On May 16,2023, I filed a claim with your company (*******). The claim was for multiple plumbing leaks. A technician was assigned to the claim. He came to my home on a Thursday. Took photos and made some notes. He said he would return the following Tuesday. He never showed up and never called. I notified the Chouce claims rep. They assigned a new technician who set up a time and day to come out. He never showed up. Your company said I could engage my own plumber and approval of his estimate work could begin. Out of the 6 plumbers I called, only one begrudgingly agreed to come. He does not work with Home Warranty Company because of the paperwork. He agreed to come over because I am an 81-year-old disabled senior, who was just released from the hospital after major heart surgery. He came up with a labor estimate of $930 and perhaps a parts estimate of $500. He submitted photos and a total price. Your company required additional breakdowns which he refused to do because of the time involved.
I phoned a supervisor, calling your stateside number. I requested she elevate my claim to management and send me a check for $1,400. And I would have the repairs done. She refused saying Choice would get another technician to come out, This was one week ago. In the meantime no technician and drip drip drip. Hopefully, you will authorize direct payment to me.
Sincerely,
Horrible experience getting an AC system replaced. Choice sent a technician, didn't accept his diagnosis that a replacement was needed and was sending a 2nd tech. 2nd tech was not working with Choice anymore, due to them not paying. Choice suggested I start their reimbursement process and find my own tech, which I was forced to do after 4 weeks of no AC. He diagnosed the same problem, a replacement was needed, we submitted the info and an estimate. Choice requested more info, which I provided. My AC tech replaced the old unit with the quoted equipment. Choice comes back a over a week later and asks for proof maintenance was completed, but when I provide the evidence the new unit was installed, they denied the claim, stating the repair was never approved. All of this was by email, they never returned calls. Every interaction was always deflecting and asking for more info. I initially made the request for service on 4/21. I had to complete the whole repair and pay for it on my own on 6/24. Don't use Choice.
My water heater went out on 6/13, but I thought maybe it was just a fluke. I filed a claim on 6/15. It took them 2 days to find a tech and it was going to be another 4 days for the tech to be able to come out. I reached out and the tech came on 6/19. He thought it was the pilot light. He lit it and I told him less than 2 hours of him leaving the issued remained. He came back out and told me 3 parts needs to be replaced for my issue to be properly resolved. We notified Choice. Choice authorized one part to be replaced and said come back if that does not work. That's crazy. I have gone back and forth with Choice many times about the issue because they need pictures of the failed item, which is an component of the water heater. I have been told 4 separate times my issues was escalated and that someone would call. They never cal. I call and I'm left on hold for long periods of times and repeatedly hung up on. I'm going into week 3 without hot water due to waiting on a part and going back and forth with Choice. It's extremely disappointing. And they had the nerve to call me yesterday about renewing my policy. Absolutely not after this. I should've known better to renew last year when the agent who was renewing my policy mentioned a 3 year deal if I paid that day. I declined and he said something along the lines like "You don't have $1,200" Another agent yelled "oh my God" while we were on the phone and I was explaining my reason for the call. Agents always refuse to transfer me to a manager when I request it. I'm just extremely disappointed with their conduct and I would advise anyone who has them to cancel it and run. So I am basically having to buy the other 2 parts the technician told Choice were needed to properly get my water heater to work and pay for additional labor.
I would not recommend nobody to do business with them. I am a faithful customer. I paid them every month on time is drafted at my account. I never use them until now and I needed a thermal expensive valve they sent a heating and air guy out here. He was awesome before he got out my driveway they denied me and I never asked them to get nothing fix until now I had to go back-and-forth with them a couple days they approve everything and told me they were only cover $100. It was a $400 bill and they wouldn't even pay that, I don't recommend nobody doing business with them. They don't care about you all they care about is getting your money and my bill is due on the first of every month. They always take my bill before the first time and I have it drafted I cancel my service I could've paid for my own problem sir getting them to pay $100 it was a $400 bill that's ridiculous so if you imagine if it was more than that they definitely wouldn't even pay for it. All they do is sell you a warranty and they don't standby they work I will never do business Dan with ever again. I can save my own money and get my own prepares. The money is hard to come by so you don't do people like that, but they keep they keep saying I'm a loyal customer if I'm loyal, they treat me like I'm loyal you couldn't even pay for the bill. I had to pay $300 out my pocket all they did was pay $400 but oops they going to get half of their money back when they get the payment from me I don't recommend nobody to get anything or any service with them. I really don't even want to give them no stars.
Imagine this- you're a new home buyer and you get a home warranty, you think "wow, I am protecting my assets and myself", until you have to put in your first claim and realize what an absolute dumpster fire of company this is. Nothing meets the standards of a claim for them to actually provide a service. IF you do meet the standard, hope you're ok with living with that issue for a month or longer- sewage water backing up? Heck they'll get someone to you in a few 45 days or so. I could imagine SOOO many other poor life decisions I could have made with the $700 that bought this policy, and I still wouldn't be as disappointed as I am with this company.
I was quoted a specific price and the salesman did not give it to.me in writing which I requested. My service call fee is 20 dollars higher than quoted and I've only gotten the runaround trying to find out why. I put in a claim for AC not working 36 hours ago and nothing has been done despite 3 calls and an online claim. My house is now 89 degrees inside and I am out the money for the contract. All you get from customer service is form responses and canned apologies. Don't waste your money.
Paid in full can't get a email or call from them about a claim I submitted might as well submit to thin air. Constant battle stay away!
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
