I've been waiting over 2 weeks for someone to come out and fix our refrigerator. They are a joke, the absolute WORST COMPANY EVER! I thought our last insurance was bad, Choice makes it look very good. Don't get it BUYER BE WARE
This warranty company is #1 in denying any claim. Their marketing department is top till you sign. Once a claim is submitted,they will find a way to reject most claims regardless of its validity. I have some non working electrical outlets in my home. They assigned a Tech to my claim. Immediately, they denied the claim based on an assessment that never occurred.
First, they lied about the technician visit and assessment although he never get to my home to assess the cause of the problem.
Second, when they were told by the technician that he needs to troubleshoot the problem in order to resolve it,they told him troubleshooting is not cover under their policy. How can you fix something without troubleshooting it.
Third, this is not the first time that they manage to deny a very legitimate claim.
Choice home warranty is by far the most fraudulent home warranty in the country.The Attorney General of Arizona is persuading them got fraud. Do Not Trust them.Do not trust their own website reviews. Check out Google and independent reviews. Do Not trust.
We had a washer that kept breaking after three years. 4 paid $60 service claims then Choice allowed for replacement and gave us voucher for Lowe's. WTH? Now water heater broke-valve is done. They couldn't find a service tech to come to our house and sent a reimbursement option. I went out of town so didn't click on it because gathering info and now got an appt. Two weeks after…now they won't allow the reimbursement. DO NOT get a warranty just save money monthly-I would be better off with the money I paid upfront to use for our repairs. And I would still be up over $1500. Do not choose CHOICE if you do….complete hassle at every claim.

I just watched several you tube videos about Choice Home Warrenty on the news. THEY SHOULD HAVE A ZERO RATING. THEY REFUSE TO LET US CANCEL THE POLICY. ONLY USES SEARS THEY EVEN SAID THEY PAID OUT WHEN A LG REP CAME AND FIXED OUR REFRIGERATOR BECAUSE WE WERE UNDER WARRENTY. I HAD A BIG PLUMBING ISSUE THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEND A LEAK DETECTION PROVIDER OUT SO I CALLED MY OWN BECAUSE THIS WAS WATER AND DAMAGE I DID NOT HAVE AND I HAVE CANCER I LET THE PLUMBER FIX THE ISSUE SENT CHOICE THE INVOICE THEY DENIED STATING THIS WAS NOT APPROVED
WE THEN REQUEST THE REMAINDER OF OUR CONTRACT TO BE CANCELED AND THEY TOLD US NO. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. I will be taking this to a news outlet.
They are 100% a scam. My wolf microwave broke, and they told me to go back to Wolf for the warranty. The tech. That came out had no idea what he was talking about. I had to have wolf verify the tech was incorrect in his determination. My next conversation with the case manager she mentioned that my microwave is $2,000 and she is not going to pay out on that size claim. Obviously, it matters to the case manager how much they pay out. There is also no body to complain to other than case managers. According to the company they are the highest-level employee in the company.
There is no reason to have one of these policies if they are just going to make excuses to not cover anything.
I had a warranty, but here's the type of service you get. My Air Conditioner broke and needed service. I live in Florida. Temperatures then were 100 degrees. I filed my claims. I waited 2days to hear from them who was coming out. I. heard nothing. I called them. They said they haven't located a person yet to fix my air conditioners. I live in a large city. There are 100's of AC repairman. They told me they were working on it. Two weeks passed. I called them repetitively since the house was 100 degrees. All I was told is that they haven't found anybody yet. Finally after 2 weeks, I gave them a piece of my mind for torturing my family with 100% heat and no one to repair my AC. They told me that I could hire my own AC repair person and submit for reimbursement. I did that. I spent $2000 on the repair and when I went to submit for reimbursement, they told me I could NOT do it because repairs need to be approved first. I told her the representative said I could call up AC repair service and I could get reimbursed at their rates. They screwed me. Royally for never being able to get a repairmen for weeks in 100 heat, allowing me to find my own repairmen which took one phone call, and then never reimbursing me as I promised. This company is awful. I would never use them again and would tell every body never to use these people. They don't have the resources to repair your issue and they tell you things that just aren't true to get you off the phone and so they don't have to pay you. Use anybody else besides these guys. This whole thing was ridiculous, infuriating, and awful.
I am writing this review as a vendor, not a homeowner. I began taking jobs on for Choice/ Rely home warranty 4 weeks ago. They have been nothing but a nightmare from day 1. They do not pay their vendors. They do not approve any work needed. One example is they finally approved a garbage disposal install for an approved amount. Then a month after the installation, they decided they didn't want to pay for it so dropped the approved amount by 1/3. They still haven't paid one cent for the install or materials and I am now attempting to just recoup the cost of the unit. They are a disgrace and people deserve to know who they are giving their hard earned money to. They should be shut down.
Choice Home Warranty is one of those companies that say they will take care of you, but too many vendors have had bad experience with them and won't work with them, so then that leaves you to find your own vendor, often out of their network and they won't pay for the repairs you need. They also only want to pay for items at their cost, not what it costs to replace the appliance. Overall, terrible service, terrible customer service. I will never recommend this company and will never use them again. What a rip off.
They don't know what they are doing. My shower has been not working because of a leak, for over 3 months now and till this moment it's still not fixed. First they didn't have a technician to send then asked me to find a plumber to fix it. I got an estimate from a plumber and they didn't accept his estimate. Then sent a plumber who doesn't do this kind of work. They require you to pay $65 every time a technician shows up wether they fix the issue or not! Total scam!
This is the worst service for home warranty ever. They schedule unreliable technicians, who don't show up and make you wait days in order to get another technician reassigned. DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY FROM HERE!
This conversation would best be handled verbally.But they do not want the facts. We have been turned down for two claims with CHW. We had no electricity as of 7:00 pm last night. The circuit breaker box shorted out and you could smell electricity burn in the basement. We called last night to submit a claim, claim number *******. We did not hear from anyone this morning. We called a local electrician and they were here within 30 minutes. The circuit box and several breakers needed to be replaced. This was done immediately by KG electric. Now your company is denying us for not using their technicians and for not getting a prior authorization or the work. We did not get the email until 12:51 that the electrician needed to call before the job was complete. At that time the job was complete.
They never paid us back.
Been without a washer for 2 months and now we have to wait weeks for a check for a new washer which will not cover the cost of a new one probably 300.00 shy that we have to put out
This company is worse than AHS
Upon purchasing my new home, I decided to select the upgraded warranty package. Within the first month, I had a bad exterior leak from rain. While this is covered by Choice Home Warranty, they required that all of my solar (which was no where near the leak area) be removed - this would have costs me thousands and they knew it. They acted in bad faith. My second claim was my primary pool pump which went out. They couldn't find a technician so I used my own. The pump and labor ended up costing me $2500 - after 4 months of arguing, CHW agreed to reimburse me for $500. In addition to their overall approach in screwing you, their customer service is awful. You primary communicate via a web portal, or if you'd like to speak with someone overseas and wait an hour on hold, that was also an option. I'm canceling my policy today!
It is so painful getting a claim paid it makes it too painful to deal with them. Even in cancellation they pull some shady tactics. Avoid this company. Save your money for repairs and do not pay them a fee to make your life more difficult. It is currently my goal in life to let people know that this is a huge waste of money.
After a estimated repair time of 13 days after the complaint for an AC unit in 95 degree Florida heat I have had enough!
Check reports with BBB and the New Jersey Newark's Attorney Generals office. When I did the representative stated "we have so many complaints about this company I wish people would look into them before getting a warranty from them." +1 *******910. You have been warned I can't believe they allow a company like this to continue to do buisness? Wish I could give them a zero!
I bought the insurance of choice home warranty. I have a problem with the air conditioner not cooling. And I contacted choice home warranty to fix it. And they contacted SA Heating and air conditioning to make an appointment. But CHW technican arrived late. And they looked for less than 5 minutes and said that the refrigerant coil was broken and couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced. And take me $75 deductible. Then they reported it with choice home warranty. In the end they didn't want to fix it and saw a lot of new when we bought insurance like when we bought it. But I don't believe so I called service king air to come and see. And they checked and told me Pressure AC turned on and they fixed it and put AC Coolant in and my computer is perfectly fine. I think we don't spend money to buy any insurance they cheat all money
We had 2 appliances break. One they couldn't fix, but didn't let us know for 3 months. It is a Bosch oven. We had it fixed for $564, but they would only reimburse $333. The other was a Samsung Refrigerator...same 3 months to fix. The company is HORRIBLE. They scheduled with us twice, had us empty the refrigerator twice, and didn't show. The first company they hired, took our deposit and didn't come back, b/c he said that Choice Home Warranty didn't pay him. That caused another month delay!
I had a leak coming from my upstairs bathroom. I had to pay my deductible for them to come out and find the leak. I had to wait 2 days for them to get approval from Choice to repair the leak. When looking for the leak, they cut 3 holes in the sheetrock in the ceiling near my front door. They said they don't repair holes. Called Choice and they said I have to file another claim and pay another deductible for the holes to be repaired. FOR THE SAME CLAIM! Someone came out, took pictures said that they had to get approval for the repairs, waited another 5 days for them to come back and repair the holes. To find out that Choice doesn't cover the texture and painting of the repairs. How ridiculous. They only cover the "ruff repairs". I wasn't told that upfront. I was told at the end of the repairs. So another $100 later, the job was completed. I asked myself, what am I paying $63 a month for? What a scam!
They will take the service call fee, and walk away and deny the claim. Technicians didn't even recommend them. You will receive many calls for renewal.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
