I was comparing home warranty companies and contacted Choice Home Warranty among others. Talking to the Choice sales people was like talking to a used car salesman with a good deal of pressure and even though I told them I was only comparing several companies and not making a decision at that time, they kept calling and emailing me until I finally told one caller that I decided to not go with them because of all of the sales calls with new "deals" every time. If they use this tactic when trying to get my business, I am fearful they would be a difficult company to do business with.
In Nov I called to set up an account the representative said it would take effect Dec 1 but I would need to pay my first month. I confirmed if paying now I wouldn't need to pay in Dec and the next payment would be Jan. He confirmed the payment was for Dec. My bank account has been debited Nov, Dec and Jan. When I call there is long hold times. 1/2/24 spoke with a rep who then transfers me to a recording to leave a message. So I now wait. If I could do zero starts I would.
I paid in $50 per month for years. When things went wrong they often were "not covered" - like my fridge WAS covered but my ice maker in the fridge was NOT covered? They made me pay extra each month to cover that. Then when my HVAC all broke they only covered part of it and didn't replace it with a similar replacement. I got a much inferior unit and - get this - I had to pay $1000! Don't use them
I called CHW about my hot water heater and was told I would hear from someone within 24 hours, when I did hear from someone it had been 3 days. That person told me that they just received the order that day and it would be another week before they could come to my house. I called CHW back and they said that was not true about putting out the order that it was put out the day I called, Anyway one of them are not telling the truth. I had them problem fixed on my own and will be calling other companies and get away from this poor service company. By the way this was my first claim that I filed with them and get this kinda service.
Technicians/plumbers, etc refuse to work with Choice due to non payment of work done. As a result they have little local resources to call on for customer service. Two selections for work on our home were for more than three hours from our home and refused to service us. One selection after we were advised they would be coming told us they fired Choice two years previous due to non payment. Two claims which would require a technician about 15 minutes each to repair were denied. No solid reason why. Another time they simply refused to pay. Absolutely the worst home service company out there.
This company is terrible! The worst customer service! They are a scam. They do not fix anything when filling a claim. They partner with "third party companies" they don't have a website no way to get ahold of them. Total scam beware. I have filed a complaint with BBB and my Attorney generals office.
I purchased a one year home warranty from Choice Home Warranty in Sept 2023. In December 2023 my Air Conditioning unit stopped cooling. The unit is only about 4 years old yet they state the entire inside and outside units must be replaced together at a cost to me of about $4500. No local AC company agrees with this and the AC service company Choice Home Warranty sent out will replace the leaking condenser at a cost of only $1790. Choice Home Warranty needs to reimburse this cost as there is no such requirement of replacing the entire unit per AHRI that they said mandates this. In discussion with Choice Home Warranty management, Eric Pardo, he could not give me the section of which AHRI document they used to make this determination.
CHOICE does not care about its customers nor its vendors. STAY AWAY. They are cheap, don't cover anything and don't pay their vendors. Horrible customer service. There are much better Home Warranties out there that work for the customer, not for the money.
Choice is false advertising in Hawaii. They have NO ONE willing to work for them in Hawaii. They will assign a vendor and the vendor will say we don't do any work for them because they don't pay. Choice will give you the run around and is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. They HAVE NO VENDORS. They will leave you without hot water they will leave you without AC. I think there should be a class action lawsuit in Hawaii as they don't have Vendors and shouldn't be allowed to sell Warranties in Hawaii. I am not sure how they are in the mainland but are honestly a complete JOKE> They are unethcial and are basically stealing peoples money and can't provide coverage.
Put in repair order for my garbage disposal. The "repair" man showed up with a pencil and 2 small cheap screwdrivers. The noise alone coming from the disposal was like I had a whole drawer full of silverware stuck in there. He turned it on once and said it was fine. Nothing was wrong with it. Also had a leak under the sink kept asking me for tools that I did not have wondering why he didn't bring up any knowing that he had a job to do, he finally asked me for some cardboard and a can of vegetables put it underneath the pipe and told me never to move it. Was there less than 15 minutes and charged me $75. Did absolutely nothing did not repair a thing! When talking to choice # Warranty after the fact they did not care one bit never offered to have somebody else come back to fix it properly or refund the $75. Do not waste your money biggest scam I have ever come across!
Filed a claim 2 weeks ago and still not assigned to a service rep. Requested their reimbursement option and was told it was only offered once per year regardless of their inability to find and provide a repair company...absolutely a worthless company
I signed up to a plan with Choice Home Warranty to cover all major appliances, including my air conditioner with an effective start date of coverage on October 13,2023. On that day, my air conditioner compressor failed, causing electrical interference on other appliances. I was relieved knowing I had recently signed up with Choice Home Warranty, only to find out that my air conditioner wasn't covered because they claimed it entered the plan with a preexisting issue. The unit worked fine on the morning of October 13,2023, so I was perplexed with what they told me regarding my claim. I would strongly urge anyone reading this review to not do business with Choice Home Warranty, as they have no intention of paying for appliance failure. They're a scam and shady company. If you enter into a contract with them, rest assured you WILL NOT have coverage on a claim. I give them ZERO stars! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!
I am getting unsolicited emails from this company. Their "unsubscribe" link generates an error message. Their "customer service" representative dumps you to an IVR with 3 choices, all of which apply to existing customers.

To tell me he can't fix it. After choice, sent the electrician prior that never showed up billed me $75 over phone to have choice tell me he canceled service contract with choice. After Waited almost a month and a 1/2. To then have choice tell me my clame has been denied They're good at taking your money They take advantage of senior Citizens Totally disgusted make all my premiums on time. But when you need their help, you're denied. This company does not have your back they have only your wallet Avoid this company run away why you have a chance
This company is rife with deceptive practices. They dispatched a garage door service to my residence, even though the garage itself was fully functional; I simply required adjustments to the garage openers to align with the sensors. Regrettably, the technician they sent not only mishandled the situation but also damaged my garage door, caused an electrical panel malfunction, and inexplicably departed without charging us.
Subsequently, they sent another technician who refused to accept responsibility for the garage door issues, citing alleged door faults. It's worth noting that I had a thorough home inspection prior to purchase, during which the garage was declared to be in perfect working condition with no concerns raised by the inspectors.
Shockingly, the company informed me that they do not assume liability for the actions of the technicians they send, even if they break or damage things. I strongly advise against using this company. They not only damaged my garage but also denied my claim based on contractual clauses. To all prospective buyers, exercise caution!
I paid in advance for 1 year of service. Near the completion of the year I was informed via email that the contract was expiring and I needed to renew it. I wasn't impressed with their slow service so I did not renew. I found out today they have been changing my credit card a monthly contract fee. I did not authorize this charge. I talked with Andrea in customer resolutions. They finally agreed to refund less than half of what they illegally charged me. Bad service and fraud. Definitely stay away from this company.
Purchased contract in 2021. On Sept 12th I filed a claim for plumbing, and as of Oct 10th I'm still waiting even after numerous calls. The last call to resolutions department the agent got upset and was very rude because I wanted to cancel the contract and hung up on me. Contract canceled!
After reading all the reviews I can only say: I wish I had read this before I signed up. Our AC went out at the hottest time here in Texas (over 100 degree) and long story short they wanted money from us and payment to the repair company! Was supposedly a special rate and the AC was old and not covered. Never responded to e mails or letters etc. We had enough of these shenanigans and called a reputable HVAC company. They installed a complete new system in one day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
I have a house in GA. I submitted a claim for a pool leak over a month ago. Was given the reimbursement option because CHW could not find a technician. Did not accept the reimbursement option because I live overseas and it would be too challenging to find a repairman. Contacted CHW via website to explain this and got no response. Called to explain the same and was told the claim was closed! I asked the representative for a complaints number. I was given the number to real estate sales. Though the rep re-opened the claim, I was sent a repeat email the next day offering the reimbursement option. Called from overseas again and was told my claim would be escalated and I would receive a message in an hour. Message never came so I called again. Spoke with a supervisor who told me an escalation was never submitted. The supervisor was of no help. Here it is a month later and my pool is still leaking.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
