TOO BIG TO CARE!

I normally recommend warranty company's because they save you money. But in this care there lack of caring and incompetence deserve a bad review. I live in Florida one of the hottest states and currently its 100 degrees in day time and high 80s at night.My ac went out Sunday and I called immediately to make a claim. They responded the following day saying they couldn't get anyone out until Friday! I wasn't able to rationalize that there was no one that could come and having kids and animals I called around and found a repair on Wednesday night. I called and complained and also let them know the response time was unreasonable. What if I was elderly or had small children. I cant believe the lack of caring and I live in a small city so there should be better service available. They offered no help and nothing to try to help with bill.If one of there executives had no air I bet theres would be fixed pronto.It all comes down to money. They just dont care!

Had them for 7 months. My heater broke they assigned tech company that came out diagnosed problem and said no worries all home warranty companies cover this then I got a call back that Choice said it was excluded. I called another home warranty to see if they cover that part and said they do. I took it up the ladder to a Case Mgr and she was so rude I had a terrible experience. Do not use Choice Home Warranty

My air conditioner condenser needs repaired so I filed a claim. The repairmen came out and sent them an invoice stating the problem is from normal wear and tear. Choice Home Warranty claims the unit is not old enough for the problem to be from "normal wear and tear" therefore they will not cover the cost of repair which was $1900. So now I paid 475 for a home warranty for the year and have to pay 1900 for repairs. CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS A RIPOFF. DO NOT USE

It's a scam!

My air central air 't blowing cool air, so I filed a claim. They sent a repairman who told me the coil had several leaks and it would cost between $2500 and $6000. To fix it After he. Left, it started working fineI told him I wasn't spending that kind of money. After a week or so, it starting freezing up. I called a local company and paid to have it fix. I canceled the policy, bc they wouldn't reimburse me. I got no refund.

Remorse Worst Scam ever

Refuse to pay for claim Have you prepay the policy three years in advance, once you discover their scam they charge a 10% cancellation fee plus the service call for the unpaid claim the worst of all I have called about three different times after cancellation for my reimbursement No repayment Please do the Math denied your claim, charge for service they did not cover and then charge a cancellation fee on a service you did receive
I do not Know about you but to me they are thieves

Looking for a home warranty? DO NOT... I SAY DO NOT USE CHOICE HOME WARRENTY! Their version of "normal wear and tear" means... WE DON'T COVER THAT! If you use them and try to cancel your policy, their terms and conditions require any funds that they have paid out be deducted from the prorated policy reimbursement fees. Basically, you pay them to tell you NO! And once you call to cancel the policy, they automatically remove your online account so that you cannot provide feedback regarding their customer satisfaction which would only serve to lower their approval rating! So how accurate is their own approval rating... I'd say MUCH LOWER than what Choice would like for you to know.
Since using Choice, we have paid out over $800 in 2 months. The policy cost for the year is $500. No thank you Choice Home Warranty.
I've used different home warranty policies and am not new to policy coverage. It was not our decision to use Choice as the vendor. I'm going back to American Home Shield, a reputable company with a valuable policy that I can depend on when appliances fail from true normal wear and tare!

Bought 6 yrear arranty. Everything was ok until i filed a claim. 1 refrigerator. A strange technician came, did not fix anything an for a month it still broken. Airconditioner they said it was dirty thats why motor fan broken. I asked a 2 opinion tech. He said its absolute nonsense. They say about preexisting conditions though they dont come and dont do pre policy exam. They send tech yu pay upfront money and then they dont approve service. They cant find a tech in yur area and you have to do their job to find a tech and they promise reimbursement and then they find a million reasons not to. People, dont buy anything from them. I am stil in the middle of this dirt. So most likely i will take them to the court to find the truth

First you will be spammed by the marketing company they use. None of the unsubscribe links work. The more you unsubscribe, the emails you will receive. If you do contact and eventually get a real person, the terms and conditions are terrible.

Do not recommend them at all. Read the fine print CAREFULLY people. They are NOTHING THEIR SITE SAYS THEY ARE. Save yourself grief and money.

Complain to the BBB in your state. If a company can not be an accredited business with the BBB, that is a red flag. Deal only with companies willing to get accredited. LET'S SHUT THEM DOWN.

We had Choice for 1 year. I made 3 claims. Every claim was denied. The last claim was for an air conditioner not cooling. After they sent a technician and I paid the service fee it was the same old story, not covered. Not covered seems to be the only words they use. It doesn't even matter if you escalate to a manager for review, they have the same script. I recommend anyone else!

This company is a complete rip-off and a scam! They have not honored any claim so far. Water heater failed and they wouldnt cover it. I asked the water heater technician if he ever had Choice Home Warranty cover a water heater and he said NEVER! Now my AC went down and again would not cover it. Asked the AC technician if he ever had Choice Home Warranty cover an AC unit and he said NEVER! Ceiling fan - same story. Home warranty companies in general are difficult to work with but Choice is the absolute worst - EVER! It any repair is more than $45 they will fight to the death not to pay and pull out every vague clause in the contract.

I am a Property Manager so I deal with the different Home Warranties for the properties I manage. I have NEVER dealt with a Warranty company where they send you a check for what they feel is the reasonable amount and you do the work to replace an appliances! You have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for the check to arrive. I personally have Choice Home Warranty, my DW needs replaced; you can not replace the brand of DW I had for $179.00 unless you go to Craig's lists! DW costs $275.00 and up. You can believe me I will find another Warranty Company that does the work doing the replacing of the appliance with the same brand. Be sure to read the fine print!
DO NOT PURCHASE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

Poor Service

They have been Sued for poor business practices
I was looking for a new home warranty and in searching Google. Choice Home Warranty came up as being on of the top 10. When it was time to file a claim I got nothing but the ran around,. My A/C went out on June 22nd. They sent out a service guy who told me the unit would need to be replaced. Choice Home warranty would not cover the unit because they stated lack of maintenance. When I called the service tech he told me it was not due to lack of maintenance the unit is over 13 years old he was surprised that choice home warranty would not cover the unit. I went out and got a second option and it was due to the duck work when the home was built putting extra stress on the unit. Choice still would not cover the unit. I asked to cancel my contract and requested a refund. They deducted $498 for service they paid for and $50.00 for me canceling the contract. I still have not received my refund. I should have check with the BBB before I sign up for this company. They where sued for almost the same issues I had with them. There is the law suit:
Edison-based CHW Group, Inc., which does business as Choice Home Warranty, has agreed to pay the State $779,913.93 including consumer restitution; revise its business practices; and retain a compliance monitor for at least one year under a Final Consent Judgment resolving the lawsuit brought by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs in July 2014 against the company and its current and former principals, Victor Mandalawi, Victor Hakim and David Seruya. If you want to see the final consent judgment go to the office of the attorney general website or to State Division of Consumer Affairs or by calling *******846 (toll free within New Jersey) or *******200. Do not by a home warranty from Choice Home warranty. They wont even give me copies of the invoice they paid that I have to pay them back for so I have no idea what I paid for.

They are quick to collect monthly premiums, but will find every chance they can to deny a claim. Check the BBB. They were in a lawsuit for false advertisement and not paying claims - finding reasons to deny claims. Happened to me multiple times with them!

"Rain Man"

The movie "Rain Man" depicts an insurance company that collects premiums and "like a bad slot machine, never pays off". Choice Home Warranty's motto should be "No need to worry, it's not covered".
They were perfectly content with letting me wait three weeks for "their supplier's"part to come in for my stove. In the meantime, eat out or nuke it, I guess. The guy they sent to fix the HVAC answered the phone "D____'s Hauling & Maintenance. And, of course, it wasn't covered. I have more... Want to throw $500 in the toilet? Contract with Choice Home Warranty. Careful though! You backed up toilet won't be covered.

BUYER BEWARE!

A year ago I was looking for a new home warranty company. I found Choice and the sales rep that I spoke to was great. I explained concerns that I had, my biggest being my Air Conditioning was old and loud and service techs that had been out in the past said that there was nothing they could do as the unit is functioning, it will just eventually go out. I asked if that would be considered an existing condition or if a home inspection was needed prior to service agreement. The sales rep said no, none of that was necessary that if it went out it would all be covered under my warranty for my service fee. Now it is almost a year later and what happens but my Air Conditioning goes out so I call my home warranty company to send a technician out. 5 days later someone shows up to look and tells me that the unit is old, it is over heating and needs to be completely replaced. I called Choice Home warranty 3 times before getting the answer that this was not covered under my policy. WHAT? This is the reason I have a home warranty. I have my unit serviced once a year and change my filters monthly. What else was I supposed to do. When I asked to speak with a supervisor and explained that I have referred several people to this company and am getting ready to renew my contract as it is almost over, but if they are not going to cover this I will have to rethink that. He said that he didn't care. I said you are willing to lose a customer and his response was yes. This claim should have been covered as I did everything a responsible home owner should have done.

I contacted this company and got several quotes. I finally structured a package and paid for 1 years coverage up front for a rental I have. In July, there was a small leak with a pipe and they were called. They refused to fix it, stating there was rust in the pipe. My husband replaced the foot long piece of pipe for the time being which only cost us less than $40 for everything. We did a total repiping in late July. Then approximately November 9th, the water heater began a small leak. Our property manager called them to come out. It took FOUR days for them to respond with a name of a company who would come out, but they were booked until December 2. They claimed there was no one else that would come out- and this is in Portland! When the plumber came out, he tried to get confirmation to proceed and Choice would not get back to him. Our management people tried- no luck. I called over the weekend and got the "my computer is down" in the repeated calls. December 5th, I called early and waited approximately 25 minutes for them to say they are denying coverage as they water heater was not covered. I told them I had it as part of the package and they said they only cover the electronics. I am soooooo done with these people! I have a child in the hospital with Leukemia and this has only added more stress to my week just chasing them down. My tenant was very understanding and waited patiently for this company to do their job. I fully believe this company is scamming not just me but everyone who uses their service. They find every reason not to pay a dime but are quick to let you know if you owe them any money... I am generous when I give it a one star. THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY!

We called Choice because our bathroom sinks were slow draining. They referred me to a plumber, I called, Mings Plumbing came and did not do the job. The sink drains are still slow. Mings told Choice that we have a blockage outside the house and that is not covered but we do NOT have a blockage outside the house. We confirmed that with another plumber, also we had Just one month before had a new septic tank & drain field installed so all pipes outside the house were $6,000 worth brand new here. Choice would not send another plumber to confirm nor to verify, so we were out the cost of the service call and the job was not done. Choice would not back up their claim to fix or replace in fact they took the word of this plumber over ours and would not verify anything. Also, Mings cheated us out of an additional $450 telling us that we had to pay him for the camera verification of the plumbing pipes up front but he would get that back for us from our home owners. He did nothing, did not get the money back to us, he cashed the check and we never saw him again. Choice Home Warranty is a cheat company and their plumber is a crook. I have reported them to the BBB and Attorney General's Office also but so far nothing was resolved. Next it will be small claims court, and believe me you do not need this hassle. Do not believe Choice Home Warranty or what they say - they lie. Their sales man also told me that I could cancel at any time and get my money back but when I called to cancel, they refused and told me that they do not agree to do that. I am out $2.200 for the contract also for Choice Home Crook Insurance Company.

EVERY PERSON THAT THEY HAVE SENT IN TWO YEARS TO MAKE REPAIRS HAS WARNED ME ABOUT THEM. THEY DON'T PAY THEIR VENDORS AND THUS THE VENDORS DO NOT USE PARTS ON THE SHELF. MY DISH WASHER NEEDED TWO PARTS. FIRST ONE TOOK TEN DAYS AND THE SECOND IS SO FAR 11 MORE. THAT IS 22 DAYS SO FAR AWAITING PARTS AS THEY MAKE THEIR PROBLEMS MY PROBLEMS.

I had an AC that went out, Choice Home Warranty sent someone out, afterwards, the repair was declined because my AC unit was not old enough. My unit was about 8 years old. If it was 14 years or older, they said they would have covered it.

I recommend Old Home Republic, I've used them before and have been quite happy, I switched back to them

I was in the market for a home warranty and had provided CHW my private email address when I requested a quote from them. Since that fateful day, I have been bombarded and spammed with emails from domains that keep trying to get me to buy a warranty from CHW despite sending multiple requests to stop to all the sources and even reporting some to their ISP.
