Don't waste your money, or more importantly your time with Choice Home Warranty. They send incompetent contractors, then they deny the claim after saying that there will be no charge for the multiple times the contractor comes to repair the original problem. Very unprofessional Customer Service Reps.
Call for a claim that fixed the problem and then they told me it's not covered by the insurance. Not 1 time 2 times.

After 30 days I had a shower pipe problem. They did not want to cover it because they said it was pre existing but it did not happen until after 30 days. They finally relented after lots of hassle and paid for it. Then two months later I had a water heater break. They did not want to cover it. So I canceled and asked for a refund.
My AC unit is approximately 20years old according to the information on the units and the technician that came out. And it's time for a replacement they usually last 10-15 years. They have denied the claim to replace the one that's out saying it's not due to normal wear and tear. Just anything to not cover the expenses. The woman at the customer service was super rude and unprofessional. Before you decide to go with this company Please check the BBB site and check out the lawsuits against them.
I am locked into a 3 year contract. So far, I have called 5 times. 2 repairs were covered. The second one took 2 weeks to complete with NO communication from the company. There is NOTHING good to say about this company. Stay away!
I've been a consumer of Choice warranty for more than two years. The compressor on my stainless steel LG French door refrigerator went out! Choice warranty informed me that they would not repair it but replace it. They offered me $730. There is no way you can replace that type of refrigerator for $730. After multiple attempts of trying to contact my so-called case manager (while having no refrigerator) 6 days later I was able to talk with my case manager and she agreed to give me $1199 towards the purchase of a new refrigerator, I was not happy but figured that would be the best I could do! So, I immediately went out shopping to purchase a new refrigerator comparable to what I had, which cost me $2600. I found the best deal at NFM (6 months no interest)! I continued to wait for my $1199 reimbursement check. 3 weeks later I contacted Choice for status on my check, I left multiple VMs for my case manager no call back(terrible service). I called back to the claim center the said I should Be receiving a Lowe's gift card in a few days. I said, I don't want no Lowe's card, I've already purchased my refrigerator and I need to have a reimbursement check! And once again I was referred to my so-called case manager, seven days later I still not have received a call back. I called back in and spoke to another caseworker who pretty much said she can't do anything to help me and she would have the manager Anthony call me! I still have not received a call back from Anthony or Shante my case manager or anybody from choice. What the hell am I gonna do with a $1198 gift card to Lowe's when I have a $2600 refrigerator that I need to pay off! This is some BS and I am super pissed! This is the worst warranty company I've ever worked with who in the hell gives you a gift card without confirming its ok first! It would be nice if someone would contact me! Be careful if you're a customer if Choice warranty and there say there'll replace your appliance!
We have been with CHW for two months and it took us one month to get someone out to our house to try and fix our water heater. First they deny our claim due to normal wear and tear then they rectify and approve it, they send us a plumber who doesn't show up, after my husband took a day off using his paid time off, they tried to rectify and send us another contractor which never showed up. Another personal day my husband had to take off. So that leaves us with 16 hours of his personal time he had to take off. We called that contractor to ask them why they never showed up, they told us that they don't work with home waranty companies and not sure why CHW would dispatch them. Two weeks later they send another contractor to come out and this time they denied the claim from that contractor! How frustrating! I called CHW and all they tell me is we have to assign you to another case manager to resolve claim, mind you a contractor is at our house waiting on them to approve the claim that they already approved. At this point we have had a leaking water heater that flooded our garage for almost a month with no help but chaos and confusion from CHW. We decided to cancel our plan with them for them to take 250.00 from us which actuality they should pay us for taking time off only to be denied a claim that was already approved. I would not recommend this company if you want a company that requires you to do the work and lose money.
I enrolled in Choice in mid 2020 after leaving another company. The pricing was attractive and the promise of better service was there. The day before thanksgiving day my disposal cracked and started leaking. I notified Choice, knowing that it would probably be a few days due to the holidays. There is no argument that this is a covered repair. The first technician came out and took photos (apparently required by Choice) and said he would be back soon with a disposal. He also took the $85 copayment. He was never heard from again. Choice then contacted a second technician who asked me to take pictures for him. Since I already paid the first technician, Choice said they would waive the payment. The second technician went AWOL as well. I have started asking for a full refund and was told by the resolution center that I could get a prorated refund, less a cancellation fee, if I cancelled. I spoke to the resolution center three times. The last time they said that my policy had been cancelled and I wasn't eligible for a full refund or reimbursement for the disposal, which I ended up buying and replacing myself. The resolution center refused to allow the call to go to a supervisor and ended up hanging up on me. Ridiculous they are highly rated.
Every time I've called for a repair there is all kinds of excuses why it's not covered. Had air condition claim and it took them three months to fulfill their end of the contract. You also can't get any one to answer many, many calls to many people. The absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have since ended my subscription with this company. Again, an absolutely horrible experience.
It is very frustrating whenever you have big ticket items needs repairs like A/c they assign to their claim specialist who will never respond to any of your questions and you left alone no one will talk. Finally you will have no choice than to get your items repaired or replaced with your money. They just collect your premiums for mainly 6 years and don't spent any thing on your repairs.
So far I haven't found which Govt. Agency controls Home Warranty companies. I have kept all invoices paid by me for my A/C, as one can't live without A/c in Texas.
I bought a plan, but when I call with a claim 9 months in they say I'm not covered. They admit their reasoning is wrong and assign me to a case manager. I was promised 3 different times that I would get a call, nothing. No supervisor will take a call, you have to email and hope they call back. They never call back.
They literally want you to have someone come out and service everything they cover often and if you dont they wont cover anything you are paying them to cover its a load of crap they dont show you any of that until your already paying for the policy and need them thanks for thing

DO NOT BUY THIS HOME WARRANTY. I strongly believe they have their own sales force writing positive reviews. I've been waiting ONE MONTH for an "approved" repair to take place. Choice blames the service provider, the service provider blames Choice while you wait for something to happen.
I have small leakages in bath room and shut off valve due to wear and tear and both times choice home warranty declined saying it is not covered! I will give negative to them and thy are huge fraud. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS HOME WARRANTY. ALL THE GOOD DEALS THEY GIVE YOU TO SUCK YOU IN ARE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE AND WHEN THE TIME COME THEY WILL REJECT YOUR CLAIM. MOTHER $#*!ING BASTARDS STEALING MONEY FROM PEOPLE.
When My AC broke down, choice Home Warranty sent a tech who tried to replace the control board on the machine twice and then gave up. The second tech said the entire unit is dead and needs replacing. Choice home warranty said that they do not cover replacement and denied payment. Then I contacted the original company that installed the unit, they said that the only thing i needed is to replace control board and that it will cost $350. I called the case manager Mr. Marc Ruehle with Choice Home Warranty who said to go ahead and send the bill. A week later he said that this payment has also been denied because i did not get the authorization prior to paying the other company. Obviously this company that was sued several times by states Atty Generals is perpetrating a legal scam.
This company is a total waste of your money. They do not have a network of service technicians. They farm out the jobs based on the cheapest bid. That is why it takes days for them to get a service technician out.
Then they deny the claim because the technician didn't fill out the paperwork correctly.
If you get sucked into this scam, you just flushed your money down the toilet.
An inspection of my A/C revealed a cracked heat exchanger. I confirmed it with another A/C technician of my choosing, and again with one of theirs. None saw any evidence of anything other than normal wear and tear. Choice home warranty rejected it because they concluded the crack was caused by "a corrosive build up on the outer shell and rust which causes premature cracking". By the way, the A/C is six years old.
Attached are pictures of the heat exchanger; draw your own conclusions as to the "corrosive build up".
Just had Choice out to repair second refrigerator, which I pay extra for coverage, had a leak in the cooling line, when repairman person called Choice the claim was denied because leaks are not covered, when I purchased the warranty I was told all repairs are covered, if not repairable it would be replace, The repair person said this is the only company that he has dealt with that denied a claim for this problem. I will be writing reviews on any site plus contacting the BBB.
I called last week deciding should I purchase into another promo deal of $1050 and 6 months free from 2017 to 2020 even for heater. Today, Dec 4, from 340 to 4 pm Pacific time and I called last to two Sales Manager They twisted stories & put me on speaker as this manager was rude to me being sarcastic.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
