After having many technicians come out to "fix" the AC problem over the course of a year (although somehow the upstairs never would fully cool after the "fix), I finally gave up and spent $7000 to buy my own unit. (Now the upstairs cools perfectly). And watch for the automatic renewals! Not sure why they call/email DAILY regarding renewing your policy - when it renews automatically! (Wish I had read that fine print). I will NEVER pay for home warranty again! Waste of money!
This is a review on their cancelation policy. We had them for a year and never actually had to use them. My contract specifically said a start to end date for one year. The month before the end date I called to say I would not be renewing and wanted it to end at that ending date. Was told no problem and nothing else was needed on my end as long as I did not call to renew. I also removed my card from the account. Of course the next month they charged me and at a higher rate. I called and asked why since I canceled and to refund my money. I was told I was month to month and couldn't just cancel and they would only credit me for a month if I stayed. I told her no I canceled the month before but she refused to refund me so I now am having to do a stop payment at my bank and disputing the charge. So basically if you want to cancel your contract at the end do a stop payment at your bank or credit card or you will be sorry. Terrible business practice. Also you will be told if you pay month to month that you do not have a end or renew date even though it states a date on their website. I was even sent an email from their sales department telling me my contact person for renewing the contract. All in all they are dishonest.
Just spent 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back trying to cancel Choice Home Warranty. The sarcastic guy told me he'd have to ask me several questions before I'd be allowed to cancel. It was absolutely horrible and had to call my Credit Card company to ultimately have it canceled. Stay Away from this company.
Highly NOT Recommended. I would like to give "NO" stars as its not worth it. People working at Choice home warranty are very rude. Our stove wasn't working, out of 4 burners 3 burners are not working. Choice sent two technician to double check the issue. Both the technician mentioned that all four infinity switches and stove glass top needs to replaced. With that said, our ovan door had some issue. According to Choice Home Warranty, door doesnt fall in "Normal" Wear and tear issues and hence they couldnt repair or replace the stove. When escalated by us, we were assigned case manager AZFAR ALI for our Stove, who was the most rude person to talk to. He kept on saying this is not Normal etc etc. and same issue. We added the technician on our call who provided the report. He asked the technician whats the cost of repairing the switches and stove glass top. When technician told him the cost of the repair work. He mentioned to us, that this is not normal situation for repair and this comes under safety. If this is not normal then what is a normal situation. If the case manager says this falls under safety issue, it highly needs to be replaced or repaired. I would highly recommend NO Choice Home warranty, if anyone are considering.
Even after having requested and receiving an email from the sales person indicating they would cover all pool and spa equipment. 1 yr later they would not cover a starter capacitor and hard start kit on the spa heater. Cost me $450 plus their deductible. Asked for review of claim, they said doesn't matter, vague verbiage used by sales person still allows them to not cover the parts.
However, no issues with simple repairs with past refrigerator on different property.
This company has not repaired or replaced either of two furnaces which were 43 years old. They have lied, ignored my demands, failed to honor their own contract. Two miserable months of suffering cold, dealing with absolutely unqualified technicians, meeting with half a dozen representatives from unknown companies is just tooooo much.
I have had choice home warranty over 3 years on 2 homes. I've been denied coverage about half of my claims. I am Now trying to get back my remaining prorate from this company... In my opinion this company basically makes money off of people and does NOT deliver.
This is a terrible warranty company. Please go elsewhere! I had a clogged toilet and they argued about covering the fix (which they didn't). My refrigerator went out and I'm now throwing out all the food and the part to fix it is still not here after several days. They said they will contact me in 3 days to give me an update. I'm looking for a new company as of today.
Choice Home Warranty contacted us to service their customers. They almost always denied the claim. They also have had a hard time paying. They are no good at all. They make their own rates and try to force you to abide by them. We submitted our price guide and they changed it without our knowledge and then refused to pay us anything different than the price guide they created for us. We dropped doing service for them within 5 days.
I am a ac company In arizona. I've done over 100 call for choice this year alone. Homeowner run and don't sign up with them. They will only cover small low item if you need a full replacement you only get choice to pay 1500 on a new system. Guess what homeowners will have to pay the rest of the system.and the catch Is that 1500 is for the company came to your house to tell you need A new system. I won't do any more work for them every again they are crooks!
They have No contractors, takes weeks, then they don't fix, reject your claim/repairs, don't reimburse.
The contract reads "We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity, and efficiency, but not for matching dimensions, brand or color." They did NOT replace my furnace with this in mind. The old furnace had a 2-stage burner and a variable speed fan motor. They replaced it with a unit that is a single-stage burner and has a single speed fan motor. The only thing that is close to matching is the efficiency, we had a 96% and they replaced it with a 95%. On top of all of that, it took them 11 days in the middle of winter to get it replaced.
I requested a repair of my inoperable garage door opener under my warranty coverage. The repair person came out and said the motor had quit working but that it was doubtful the warranty would pay as they almost always decline coverage of anything. Then, I received an email stating the coverage was declined due to a prior repair attempt, which there wasn't one. I have lived in the home since it was built, both garage doors operated normally until 1 quit working. I opened the cover of the unit to look at it just as one would to change a lightbulb. Choice Home Warranty used this to decline my coverage stating that I should not have opened the unit. They are a complete scam and should repair or replace the item as covered by my warranty coverage. Their using the fact that I looked inside the garage unit as rationale to deny the complaint is unethical and poor business practice. If you buy a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty, you have just been scammed. They find any way they can to not complete repairs.
Not any good send people that don't know what they are doing. You never talk to the same one poor commutation. They got to me for 1,100.
Choice Home Warranty sells policies with NO intention of honoring them. Even when the technicians that THEY sent out could NOT identify the problem, CHW fraudulently filled in a "reason" for the failure, right off of their list of "things not covered" in order to say "claim denied" and "case closed". They are a total scam and extremely unethical in their practices. Good luck trying to get anywhere with them, as their customer service is nothing but a 24-7 circus! Don't just take my word, read up any of the thousands of complaints easily found online. WALK AWAY from this company.
We have had them for 6 months and they have denied 2 out of 3 claims, ended up paying on my own. This is a rip off!
Beware of this garbage company. Do not buy any of their garbage aftermarket warranty products. You are better off just putting your money in a pile and setting it on fire. For over one month now we have been waiting for them to send someone out to fix what they are contractually obligated to fix. Our garage door. Claim was never denied. They agreed to send someone out. They give you a four hour window when someone will come out. When you call out of work and move your day around to accommodate that nobody shows up. For over thirty days we have dealt with this. When you call customer service they just spew out nothing but lies. They will not keep their word. They will just lie to you and keep kicking your issue down the road. Don't spend a dime with these con artists
This company uses its sleazy spammer "affiliates" to flood my inbox with dozens of home warranty spam emails per day. No legitimate company needs to use this type of advertising. And even if they were legitimate, there is no way I would ever use the services of a company that resorts to this level of harassment.
Don't walk away, run. I'm on my second issue with a new home. The warrantee is worthless. It's a stove oven problem. I've been waiting two weeks for two parts, and they've sent Part #1 twice. Choice is charging me every time a tech comes, so at this point I feel like I should apply the tech payment to getting a new range. And Sears Repair Service keeps trying to book my new appointment last week. The whole thing is ridiculous. Don't waste your money.
Initially Choice seemed like a great deal but in the end you get what you pay for. We had a contractor come out to check on our water heater when it stopped producing hot water. They replaced a part and then two weeks later the water heater burst. When the contractor came back out they admitted fault and expected Choice to cover at least a portion of the repairs. They did not cover any of it. What is the point of a home warranty if it doesn't cover things they say they cover? On top of that when it came closer to renewal time they kept calling me multiple times per day from different numbers. I have had to block them over and over again. They also emailed and texted me. When I replied to them with my concerns about this harassment and poor treatment they ignore it. They then proceed to keep calling. They also tried to auto renew me without me first approving it. At the time I write this review my warranty has expired and I'm with a different company. But the calls still keep coming. Avoid at all costs!
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
