Their customer service email is down and has been all week- all emails kicked back or just won't go...
Site was down and phone calls kep getting disconnected but eventually, they called back and were able to help me change my flight-then change it again after my visit date changed due to factors not under my control. I still had to pay $100 but at least they were able to help after many long waits on the phone and several disconnected calls.
I am pleased with their efforts in the end.(Below outlines the problems I had initially but again, they DID help me in time!

I wanted to change departure date for my husband's flight for four months from now. His grandfather was having surgery and he wanted to be there. CheapOair would not refund me for the original flight, or offer some money back. Instead, I would have to buy a regular priced flight and lose the money I had already given them. I even purchased insurance and they would not honor it. I will not be doing business with CheapOair anymore.

I had made reservations with CheapOair to fly to San Diego Diego March. When I made them I bought the travel insurance. Well because of covid all plans were canceled by the airlines etc. all of the other companies that we had booked with gave full refunds. NOT CheapOair. They kept the balance off the amount after Frontier refunded the air. I will never book with them again. In all this chaos and uncertainty they did not do the right thing. Please spread the word.

I've been trying to speak to someone at Cheapoair for a couple of months, I get put on hold and then after an hour or so I get cut off. All I want is my refund from a flight I was unable to take due to Covid-19. When I went online NINE weeks ago I was instucted to fill in a form and that they'd be in touch, since then nothing. Needless to say I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WITH ANY LUCK AT ALL THEY'LL BE OUT OF BUSINESS. At this point I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that they've stolen my money and I'll never hear from them. I should also mention that I paid for insurance.
The booking process is little difficult because too much selections for extra charges. I hope it can be changed and improved. For the customer services, comparing with dDreams, cheapoair is much much better than edreams. So, I would like to recommend it to people but not edreams.The eDreams is cheat. Trapping our money, and no refund. But Cheapoair is reasonable.
I bought a fly through CheapOair and one of the airlines cancelled due to covid-19. I could not get a refund so I had to take credit but the airline is not traveling the same route so it is worthless to me. I tried to call CheapOair and they told me to call Air Canada so I called Air Canada and they told me I need to call CheapOair. I am out $655.

Trip tours cancelled due to Covid 19. Car rental and airline deferred. Cheap O Air charged an additional service fee to their booking fee. Definitely not a bargain. Both car rental and airline cost more than if booked directly. Lesson learned!

Getting to a customer service rep will take you at least 30 minutes, then they will tell you that you can not get a refund. Oh and the travel protection you pay for is only for a 24 hour period from when booking so that is also a scam where you pay $30 thinking you get full coverage incase something happened (LIKE A PANDEMIC) and they will tell you no they can not refund you.OH OH OH best part, they will issue you a credit that you must use within 3 months but get this it gets better... YOU HAVE TO PAY EVEN MORE TO DO THAT. Literally a scam of a site. You are better off using anything else.
I just want to warn people from booking flights with cheap o air during this pandemic season.
I booked a flight with them thinking that they are cheaper but ending up paying a lot than what i supposed to.
First, I booked a flight March 30 and the airline cancelled due to COVID 19. Cheap o air charge me $75 and rebook the flight to April 20. The airline cancelled again and cheap o air charge me again another $75 and rebook the flight for May 12. Then it was cancelled again but because I don't get a full refund that will take 30 to 60 business days I choose to rebook again for June 17 and paid the difference of the flight plus their rebooking fee which cost $99 and this happen May 11,2020. Every time that the flight was cancelled I receive an email from the actual airline which is PAL and another email from cheap o air stating that the flight was cancelled and asking them to call for rebooking or get a refund. I receive an email this morning, May 26,2020 from cheap o air stating that the booking was cancelled. I was surprise because we are not cancelling anything so we called cheap o air and they told us that it was PAL who cancelled the flight so we called PAL. And they said that it was not cancelled and flight was still a go for June 17 2020. I called cheap o air again and they said PAL cancelled it and it was a blocked out date. I went to PAL website and it was not a block out date at all. They are clearly lying to me and won't admit that they have cancelled the flight by mistake and asking me to accept the refund which is almost $400 short of what I totally paid them. And what so funny is, they want me to book a new flight and pay for it because the refund will take 30 - 60 business days. I really learned my lesson with these guys and I just want to warn you not go here. I wish I can sue them too and have them close so that there will no more victims at all. Better to book it directly with the airline as they will give your full refund or a future credits and not make you pay for any changes as this was an emergency matter and the changes are not made by you.
DO NOT BOOK WITH CHEAP O AIR.

Cheapoair.com stole my money due to negligence.
I put in a refund request 4 days prior to the flight due to covid 19 lockdown restrictions. They did NOTHING ABOUT IT. Refund request ******* 5/11/2020 for a flight on the 14th booking ID *******. The airline had an approved refund policy too... Had Cheapoair done their damn job this wouldnt be an issue
They did nothing about it and claimed I NO SHOWED. I stopped using Cheapoair because their service sucked. I clearly screwed up by using their services again.

I cannot get any response from customer service. I tried calling and got put on hold for 45 mins without any success, I requested formal inquiries on their websites twice and following up multiple times and NO ONE can answer a simple question why I got a travel credit instead of a refund even though I paid for cancellation insurance. The absolute worst customer service!

On Jan 14 2020, I reserved 2 air tickets through cheapOair with an international airline from airport TAO to KIX on 5/24/2020 for $291.96.
On 04/04/2020, I got email and text message saying there was change for my reservation and asked me to call in. I tried to call many times and only got auto answer like "Due to Covid-19, no service is available". I also tried to email or submit the customer support case online and never got response.
On 05/05/2020, I finally called in and the representative told me that the airline canceled the flight and no flight is available from airline. And then he filed the refund request on the airline's website and there is no fee charge from cheapOair. I asked for the confirmation email and he said no such email. He told me if I want the receipt, I should go to cheapOAir online to file the cancel/refund request, but it is not required.
On 05/18/2020, I still got no response from cheapOAir and the call to cheapOAir became auto answer like "Due to Covid-19, no service is available" again. On CheapOAir website, it showed my reservation is still active and the flight has to be cancelled before the departing time. So I submitted cancel/refund request on cheapOAir webside as I was told by the representative. It turned out that I did not get the refund of $291.96 and there was $70 more charge put on my credit card.
On 05/26/2020, I was contacted by CheapOAir. And he filed the refund with the airline to resolve this. Need to wait for 30 to 60 Business day to get refund after airline agrees.
On hold for over 30 minutes. They would not let me request for a refund do to the covid-19 even though on their website it says you can request for a refund. They kept saying my credit card was decline and I used 3 different cards. Horrible customer service I will Never use them again
Customer service is horrible. They leave you on hold for hours. The airline said I was eligible for a refund and cheap o air had to call the airline to confirm. Let me on hold for extended periods of time. I've been on the phone with them for over an hour and still have another flight to cancel. NEVER AGAIN!
My review is not good. I have been calling them and telling to give the refund and they never give your refund I also spend a lot of money on the tickets and I hardly found a good ticket. They rescheduled my flights 2 two hours later and I said I am not happy and I asked for refund. Over an hour on hold, just to be hung up on when a refund was requested for a flight to Italy which is no longer available. Called back and was on hold for an hour, at which time the call was disconnected. Very poor customer service. Stay away from this company! Never again

This company is HORRIBLE! During this Covid19 pandemic, our flight into Canada was canceled! I sent numerous emails, and made numerous calls asking for assistance in a refund or future credit, and received NO response for months!? I finally got through to a man I could barely understand, due to his accent. He stated false information on Alaska Airlines behave, and i knew it could not be correct! I called the airlines myself, and they confirmed the information I received from the CheapOAir agent was wrong! They made it possible to work directly with them and not CheapOAir! Praise the lord! Again, I do not recommend this company!
In the midst of a pandemic, the airlines are giving full refunds or vouchers but this outfit charged us a $70 fee. Save your money, book directly through the carrier.

A friend of mine bought me a ticket through CheapoAir the morning of Feb 2nd. That evening a rep from CheapoAir called to sell me travel insurance. I verified several times with the rep that I would be able to cancel the flight for a refund regardless of the reason for cancellation. I paid the fee and felt good about it considering I was finishing up my BSN and figured my schedule could change at any moment. I definitely did not expect a pandemic to change my plans, but it did. I felt confident that I was protected since I paid for the travel insurance. When I finally got in touch with a live representative I was told that that travel insurance was only good for 24 hours after purchase of the ticket( why the hell would I buy the insurance with only 12 hours left to use it?). I spoke with a supervisor that said he would listen to the recording of the transaction and get back to me. He hasn't even with multiple attempts to contact the company to resolve this issue. I wouldn't normally write a review like this, but this company is selling a product based using fraudulent tactics and consumers should be aware!

Update: After numerous long distance 45 minute phone calls, most of which were simply dropped by the call center, I finally managed around midnight to talk to someone who resolved the matter quickly, refunding my booking within the 24 hour limit, all this because the online app booking cancellation had been disabled for my booking. What a waste of time and money.

Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
