Just finished inquiring about my cancelled flight from CheapOir, still not yet fixed and they want me to cancel my booking and book a new flight with extra charge. First they re-book me to a flight that does not exist and now they want me to do a refund and book a new flight that is 3 times more expensive.

Cheapoair canceled my flight and booked me on an alternative return flight with 1hour 5 min layover time on connection flight. They don't have a Canadian number so we had to always make long distance calls to customer service although we booked the flight from Canada. They keep transfering the calls to different departments and we spent hours in long distance calls. The two planes were very far apart and needed trains to get to the terminal. They confirmed that it's enough time but we missed the flight. The airlines put us on another flight the next day. We had to pay +200 for the hotel. After many calls, cheapoair said they will reimburses us for the hotel but never happened. They have the poorest service you will ever see. You think they are cheaply priced but you will end up paying much more in the end.

The Nanaimo leg of my booking through cheapoair-- flight 8037 on Christmas Day was cancelled due to adverse weather. My son Vincent, the traveler, was coming from the UK and very exhausted and had to sleep in the airport. We were unable to re-book with cheapoair as there was no one on the other end of customer service. I ended up having to pay for a taxi to the ferry and a ferry ride to the island. I subsequently tried repeatedly to contact cheapoair customer service on the following days-- to no avail. Really, really bad service. I'll never use them again.

I dispise being contacted by a third party from some boiler room overseas to sell me insurane that I already reviewed and decided against. I don't need to have the insurance salesmen applying hard sell, tactics to get me to buy something I don't want or need. I read the offer on the website and declined it at the time. It is unethical to contact us after the fact and try and strong arm us into paying for something that we considered and decided against. This practice and conduct like this in the travel industry is just making the travelling public angry. You need to do a lot better instead of trying to find more ways to "fleece" the traveler. Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
