You guys don't cover a throttle. My car is not running, it's the holidays and I'm broke. I need the car to get to and from work, so I can pay for a throttle. The first time I actually need you guys I felt you let me down.
I've been a member for quite a while, never really used it, when I did need them they couldn't help me. My throttle went out and they don't cover it. It will cost 900$ that I don't have. So now I have no vehicle to get to work or anywhere. I pay 109$ a month for carsheild.
One call and I had my truck back under a warranty - gave me a sense of security
This is a waste of time, unless you have the time to fight with CarShield, who then turn your claim over to a company that doesn't use an address only PO Box. It's called United Car Care. I have current information for you Do not Get This Coverage. A horrifying experience, I am presently still fighting with "United Car Care" who authorized my claim then denied it. You are better off putting your money aside in a cookie Jar to save it for car repairs. All the monthly payments I made were in vain, think my 2016 Jeep with under 78,000 miles are covered. It's alright, they will ignore your calls. Then the blame games begin, in your contract is United Car Care, but when you take your vehicle for service, you have to say I have Carshield. Then the service people begin laughing, you have who/what? Lady, have you checked their rating lately? Yet, I paid thousands of dollars, for abandon protection. They will not cover you they will find every excuse possible. You are paying Car shield, and they throw you off on United car Care only for your claim to be denied! RUN from these people it's a scam. A Waite of time, you have to continue to call, and get bounce around. I am still waiting today 12/29/2023. I want to help someone not to get hurt. Save your money, Do Not Buy CarShield! They will fright you on every claim. I am still a customer,I paid to experince this horriable experince.
The commercial and advertising are all false. We have been with CarShield for 5+ years, making our payments on time and keeping our car regularly maintained at the dealership. We had a problem with the throttle body a couple of years ago and we were denied the claim because in the fine print, throttle bodies aren't covered. This past month, when we took the car in for service they said that the car was burning oil and needed to do a teardown to figure out the problem. We reported this to CarShield, they approved the teardown and authorized us to get a rental vehicle. The dealership did the teardown and realized that a new engine would be needed, but had to wait three weeks to get an inspection from CarShield. They finally came and did the inspection and sent my wife a text saying that the repairs are approved. Great! Until the following day when they called to say that the repairs were not approved AND since they weren't, we had to pay for the rental car...after a 3 week delay on their part!
Basically, in our experience, every word in their commercials and ads and on the website are untrue. We paid over $5,000 in premiums for absolutely nothing but disappointment in return. We have canceled this bogus service and recommend that everyone else do the same. No matter the issue with your car, they have some unseen little loophole to get out of paying for it like they say. This is not an extended warranty, this is a scam. The only response they had to our questions is "you didn't read the fine print." If we saw everything in the fine print, we never would have paid a nickel to this company, because nothing is covered.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST A MONTH FOR MY GOD DAMN CAR THAT YOU PEOPLE CAN'T SEEM TO COMMUNICATE ANYTHING ABOUT WITH MY AUTOSHOP. YOU NEED TO EXPODITE THE PROCESS.
The shop recommended was expensive and told us it was the battery which required replacement. We paid for the battery and replace break pads which after checking around found it was double what should have paid. They replace a break sensor which should have been cover under the warranty, but thy made no effort to see if Car Shield would cover it. T

Had coverage on 2 cars and cancelled due to the fact that they make shops jump through hoops to get authorization on repairs as im waiting months for vehicle without rental. Customer service reps could care less and put little effort to help.Not worth it at all...save the money to pay for repairs.

This and para 25 excluding any TSB on your car would exclude any repairs to your vehicle so buyer beware that this is a sham contract.
Para 8 "BREAKDOWNS due to gradual loss of performance and resulting from normal
Operation and use (due to VEHICLE mileage and/or age) unless worn beyond
Manufacture tolerance, including, but not limited to: valve guides, valves, piston
Rings, transmission clutch pack discs and bands."

Buyer beware that your Car Shield policy does not cover problems including normal wear and tear of all parts of your vehicle that are included in a Manufactures Technical Service Bulletin called an "TSB. That includes most every part of your vehicle including drive train, motor, engine, brakes, steering etc. Car Shield should go by the legal definition "Unlike recalls, manufacturers never cover TSB-related problems out of pocket unless there is a warranty. When it expires, this burden lies solely on the owner" and cover your vehicle. This is obviously a redefinition of responsibility and will include any repair they chose to not pay. This defines Car Shield to me as a SHAM COMPANY. Please read paragraph 25 carefully and when it says that they don't cover parts that the manufacturer accepts responsibility for, they really mean anything that has a technical bulletin. My Ford F150 have over a hundred on it including almost every part so the truck is exempt from Car Shield coverage as they interpret paragraph 25.
25. Manufacturer responsibility:
BREAKDOWNS as a result of a defect, product improvement or change
That the VEHICLE manufacturer has announced as its responsibility by a
Public recall, technical service bulletin and/or special policy for the purpose
Of correcting such defect or product shortcoming.

Very easy to claim repairs. My auto shop called and worked out all the details. Just dropped off the car and had it fixed.
Customer service was very easy to deal with other account concerns.
One of the better companies to deal with and no hassle service. I have 3 cars signed up.

Carshield doesn't stand by the contract warranty. I had to go back an forth eith them to finally agree to pay for the part that my car needed to be repaired. Then they didn't want to pay for programming the part that my car needed. I was already frustrated about my car needing to be repaired then Carshield added to my frustration. I wouldn't recommend Carshield to anyone.

Had my truck seated at the shop for 2 weeks because they were making 1000 excuses not pay for the repair
The shop sent them everything they asked for and each time they kept asking for more info
Shop sent them pictures and details of what needed to be replaced
They ended up asking for a picture that was required to take whole bed off to get it
This was gonna cost more than the repair itself
Ended up paying for the repair my self just so i could get my truck back

Couldn't find the charge on my CC bill for Car Shield so I called to make sure I was still covered. The automated answering service was simple to navigate and the customer service representative was more than helpful.

I called car shield on my way over the car dealership car shield had my claim but not claim and auth from dealership? So I know lithia called car shield but maybe couldn't connect? They are very busy in customer service department! I was customer service rep and would have called dealer to give auth so customer wouldn't be caught in the middle :). Dealer gave me goodwill and covered cost of parts and deductible for being in the middle so I was very appreciate! Not sure if dealer got paid yet I hope so :)
