Peace of Mind in Vermont

I have leased new Toyota Camrys 4 times now which is a total of 12 years ending in 2023. I didn't stop leasing due to disappointments, but because I decided to buy out the lease in November, 2023. I've been used to having all my service and parts taken care of under Toyota's excellent vehicle protection policies, however, I never had a problem with all 4 Camrys. Now that I financed my current car, I wanted to make sure I have peace of mind when it comes to protecting myself against potentially expensive parts and labor as time goes by. I looked into many of the top car protection plans from the top companies, and finally decided to look into more details from Car Shield. I feel like I'm in good hands should I have any hefty repair expenses to deal with down the road.

With the repairs that are being made on my Chrysler 200s, I have to say that I am shocked at how much you covered. I am very pleased with your service and I do say that even though you did not cover everything, you covered exactly what you should have per the contract that was agreed upon. Great customer service good price excellent. My car was shaking and wouldn't pick up speed took to the mechanic of my choice and they told me that I need a new transmission. Carshield took care of the issue the warranty, no complaints. I am happy I recommend it to everybody I know.

Professional Car Dealerships

It seems every dealerships I've been to here don't have anything good things to say about Car Shields coverage.They won't accept Car Shield stating it's hard to get y'all on the phone & can't get you all to pay for the claims filed.I really don't feel good about having this warranty because every dealership frowns when mentioned.It's like having a warranty that might get accepted,I'm kinda get nervous when taking my vehicles to these shop because I don't feel secured…

My journey with CarShield started off rocky, largely due to the disappointing customer service from their third-party administrator, American Auto Shield. The heart of the issue revolved around a contentious debate over a supposed "pre-existing condition" with my vehicle. Despite providing exhaustive maintenance records and ensuring no warning lights or codes appeared during the mandatory 25-day and 500-mile waiting period, American Auto Shield remained unyielding.

The situation escalated when they proposed replacing my failed transmission (which gave out at 92,000 miles) with a used one boasting 80,000 miles. This offer was far from satisfactory, and my requests to escalate the matter were met with a firm "no," as they claimed there was no higher authority to take my case to.

Feeling cornered and frustrated, I reached out directly to CarShield's leadership, which turned out to be a game-changer. Their response was swift and empathetic; they immediately contacted me and took charge of resolving the issue. The resolution they offered was not just a band-aid but a substantial one—a replacement with a rebuilt transmission.

What impressed me most was not just the resolution itself but the manner in which it was handled. CarShield's leadership made continuous efforts to check in, ensuring that I was satisfied with the outcome and inquiring if there was anything more they could do to assist.

In light of this turnaround, I feel compelled to give CarShield an excellent rating. However, it's important to note that this rating reflects my experience after direct intervention from CarShield's leadership, not the initial service received from American Auto Shield. I hope my experience serves as a catalyst for CarShield to reevaluate and enhance the customer service protocols of their third-party administrators, ensuring that all customers receive the level of service that I ultimately did.

Didn't work for me.

I had gotten Car Shield because my warranty with the Dodge dealership was over and they weren't willing to extend it, even though the car has gone through them for everything. So I signed up for Car Shield. It was really easy. I had been with Car Shield for about a year and was informed by my mechanic (not Dodge) that he doesn't work with Car Shield, so I ended Car Shield. For the few times that I did talk to a Car Shield representative, they did act professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I'm just not willing to give up a good mechanic.

Misleading

Not saying that car shield isn't a legit company you just need to know what you're buying.
There are little clauses that are not clear or explained when purchasing a plan.

Not entirely happy

There were two separate items that based on the contract it was covered and I received a text stating they will be covered, then shortly after received a call saying that it won't be covered due to rust the other claim will be covered (the less expensive claim). I live in Illinois rust underneath a car or SUV is par for the course seeing the type of weather we have here. I was told by the shop there was in fact a leak in the oil pan, which is supposed to have been covered. I didn't appreciate being told one thing then 5 minutes later told another.

Car Shield became an option for me because my (now sold) vehicle had passed the minimal 1-year standard warranty, and even though I drive < 2,000/yr., I know that the mechanicals in a car can go South quickly and without warning. I priced Car Shield and, as its ads promise, it was quite reasonable, especially when one considers that Labor Rates at somewhere at or higher than $150/hour. My decision to cancel CS came when I decided to sell the car to get out from under my 40 remaining monthly payments of $450. I'll probably get a used vehicle with a more reasonable payment because I live in Metro Phoenix, AZ, which is *Vast*. When that time comes, I'll be paying attention to car maintenance again.

Auto Pay blunder

I didn't have funds to cover the auto pay and the payment was denied. I panicked and called Car Shield immediately they re-entered the payment and my problem was solved.
The customer service person was professional and personable and handled my situation in less than a minute.
