Caring Lies
September 12, 2022

Caring only posts reviews that are positive about their clients so you don't get an accurate review of the facility being reviewed.

Everyone care and tried to assist each other. The nurses are there for our needs and medications on time. Assistance for those on personal needs feel safe in their care. Personal employers for any question on insurance or papers need attention.

I gave an honest and accurate review of my families experience concerning a Caring.com facility in Sebring Fl. They declined to post it because it was not very favorable. I can easily see how the facility gets a 4 1/2 star rating. They just toss out the bad reviews. The Palms in Sebring is the rehab/nursing home that I was referring to. Locals who I've talked to who also had experience with The Palms share my concern. They are understaffed and only offer bare bones care.

Our loved one is there to get the help she'll need to get home with the assistance of in home care. At this rate she'll die there. She's getting worse, not better because of their neglect. We're desperately seeking alternative options to get her out of there as soon as possible. It's important to me that others considering this facility take a serious look before committing a loved one to their care. The fact that Caring.com is burying negative reviews is a great disservice to the community.

Can't trust them. They would not accept my original review for Canterfield Franklin since I "posted on Google@ already.

Then, they wouldn't accept a negative review.

They are bought and paid for. Not worth using. No honest reviews on their site.

Hello Charlotte, Thank you for your feedback. Please contact [email protected] so that we may help you remove your email and phone number from any further outreach. We typically reach out to consumers after they submit a request to be contacted, such as to learn more about a senior living community or home care agency in our directory, or when consumers participate in our online reviews program (we send status updates about their review submissions). We hope to hear from you directly so that we may address your concern.

Caring.com filters negative reviews and calls them heresay. What's the difference between a negative review and a positive review? At the end both can be labeled heresay? However they are more inclined to post the positive than they are the negative. I posted my negative comment and it was very professional. It was also very true but they decided not to post it. Not only did I find out that facilities like the one I commented on pay them for referrals, but also reviews. I know people staying at that facility also writing negative comments and those also being withheld. Do not trust caring.com to make a decision about staying at a facility. The one my nana stays at have a violent people and they are free to hit caretakers and med techs. If the employees try blocking them, employees will be suspended and warned. Drugs are smoked on premises, violating state and federal laws, but the facility allows them too. Anyone going to the facility I wrote a negative review about will be subject to inhaling Drugs that are smoked outside the facility and inside the facility. Also,, no one is safe with violent residents.

Thank you Kacey for sharing your feedback — we hope you'll also take the actions we suggested for you earlier today: please submit a review within guidelines to [email protected], and please contact the State of Oregon long-term care ombudsman about the allegations you're making about an assisted living community there. Employees of the facility may also contact the long-term care ombudsman with their concerns.

Caring is not paid for reviews, and we apply the same public-facing review guidelines fairly to all reviews we receive, regardless of rating. We don't publish reviews from senior care professionals (or any other conflict of interest reviews). From consumers: we ask for firsthand experiences (rather than rumors or hearsay), and we decline potentially libelous content. If a consumer review is declined for having content outside the guidelines, that consumer is given the opportunity to re-submit.

"Caring.com" is anything but. They censor their reviews to make horrible nursing home environments still look squeaky clean. I was told that my review was "hearsay" while my aunt is distressed in a home where she is miserable, all thanks to Caring, where their motto should be "We are Caring; only caring about your monetary referral fees & could care less about the comfort of your loved ones!"

DO NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE, THEY ONLY POST WHAT THEY WANT TO FURTHER MIDDLE MAN PROFITS.

Sickening excuses of "humans".

We've run a high integrity reviews program for over a decade, and have publicly published tens of thousands of negative reviews of senior living communities, nursing homes, and home care agencies. The reviews we publish meet these guidelines: https://www.caring.com/about/review_guidelines/ Ellie may contact [email protected] for help submitting a review within guidelines that is her firsthand experience feedback (for services/experiences she has witnessed directly). For nursing home care, we also provide information about how to reach the long-term care ombudsman. There are no fees exchanged in the Caring reviews program; advertising and referral fees are not considered in processing reviews.

I put a review ton Caring. Com that mentioned that my mothers Jewelry and other valuables were stolen while she lived at the reviewed Assisted Living facility They sent me an email saying it was approved for posting and it was up on the site for at least a month. They it was taken down without notice. The other remaining reviews are older reviews than mine, some two years old. I think that they were told to take it down by the assisted living people and that the site answers to the industry. Therefore it is not a reliable source for the consumer.
I need to mention that I did not in anyway say in the review that the assisted living was to blame for the theft. I said that it happened there and if anyone has the same experience they will know there is a pattern. I said t was told the agencies had access to her things, such as her hospice care workers, and it would be difficult to tell who to blame. I mentioned that the facility director said they would get back to me about it but never did.

Please contact [email protected] so that we may research which specific review you're referencing and provide accurate information about the removal. Or you can reply to the decline notice to reach our team. Their representative never replied to my specific communication beyond form letters and offered no other options when informed that the only one sent was far away from our needed area.

Moreover, their only "personal" email was about what information I could give them to close their file-not one word of interest in what they can give me and hadn't provided me for some time as the customer!

Lastly, the company kept repeatedly calling me with disengaged robotic representatives who offered no information when I told them I had been requesting other locations.

To enable us to investigate the service transactions referenced and validate the feedback, please contact [email protected]. Our Family Advisors are highly trained to provide quality, no-cost referrals for consumers to senior living communities and home care agencies, and they provide a range of information to support seniors and their families; we document such referral communications. What was described in this review doesn't appear to match our standard approaches, and we're available to assist Maggie if she directly communicates with [email protected] and provides more specific info that we can investigate and take action upon (such as the phone number or email used in the referral). Our management team takes referral feedback seriously, but we'll need Maggie to get in touch directly with us so that we may accurately and effectively address her concerns.

I clicked one button about assisted living and filled out my info just to gain information on all things assisted living since I have no base knowledge on the subject. I have received tons of referral to assisted living facilities that don't even meet the criteria. They must have a list of everyone in the 200-mile radius and just refer you to everything so in case you move in one, they get some money for a referral. This should be illegal. The Male that did a follow up call to me, was rude, pushy and acted like I needed just to stick my sister in a facility on the list, it didn't matter about any differences in care. As long as they got money, it was good enough. I got another call based on my responses to a survey at the end of the male's call. The lady apologized and said they would be removing me from the contact list. I said great. 2 days later I got another set of email referrals that had a bunch more facilities that some met, and some didn't meet the criteria I was looking at. This company will dog you till forever, and don't even care what you are looking at. They just want to show they sent you a list and get money from the business for a referral. Very unfair to the businesses who actually go look at facilities, and work with professionals in the field to place your loved one in a place that not only meets their needs but might make the happy. Geez, what a scam for finding a place for a loved one. Just do not click on anything that says by caring.com or answer any question or you will never get rid of them. I am not from a company or agency; I am someone looking to warn others of my experience in finding a place for my older sister.

They make money from assisted living facilities. If they see a negative review with someone they work with, they will not publish. They state that you can inquire why but they will not respond. They don't care about giving an honest unbiased review. Complete frauds.

Anthony R. - If you are a senior living or senior care business owner, please contact [email protected] to discuss your concern about the Caring.com reviews program. We have public-facing information about how communities and agencies get valid online reviews from their customers for publication on our website, and for businesses partnered with us, we offer free review generation services (including a free review call-in line that your customers can use to give a review of your services — we provide free marketing materials businesses can share with their customers to get those reviews). We'd also like to learn more about the interruption and monthly questions you referenced so that we can confirm the service experience you described and follow up with the account executive or account manager to address such concerns. It's possible your review wasn't meant for Caring.com but for another company, and we'd like to discuss this matter with you further. Please do contact us ASAP: [email protected]. Thank you!

No Help!
August 30, 2021

After I contacted them, they gave me a list of a few facilities that might meet my needs and setup virtual meetings. I received emails with my advocates name, phone number and email address. None of the places suggested met my needs and when I tried to reach out to my advocate I couldn't reach her. The phone number did not work and the email address kept bouncing my emails back as "undeliverable." When I reached out to the general number on the website the person basically talked in circles, could not tell me why I couldn't reach my advocate and said he emailed her and she would get back to me. Of course she never did. I reached out to senior services in the county I was moving to and they were a hundred times more helpful. I'm not sure why caring.com didn't care, but they didn't. You're better off finding other resources.

We'd like to research the call you're referencing - it's not matched to our standard service levels or approach in helping seniors and their families find best-matched resources (including referral to low-income options where needed). Please contact [email protected] at your earliest convenience so that we can get more information from you (such as the phone number you called in from - to enable us to revisit the call recording and address any concerns as needed). MisRepresentation
July 29, 2021

Their site says that they represent facilities that accept medicaid. After accepting my call and referring me to a specialist (knowing that I was looking for a facility that accepts medicaid) I was told that caring.com only deals with private pay providers. It is stressful enough trying to find appropriate care for a 101 year old woman. Did not need this lie.

Please contact [email protected]. This will help us gather specific details about how you accessed our free informational service, and revisit how the calls with you were handled. For a variety of reasons, the majority of our community partner network are private-pay only, but we do have extensive, relevant information to help seniors and their families find appropriate care and support while navigating how to find and pay for care. We hope you'll follow up directly with [email protected] so that we can further address this concern. Thank you!
