After 6 months all of my interest free was added to my account. I was nearly paid in full! Now I owe just as much as I did when I first enrolled! When I call to ask to customer service when I can after I go through hell with the automated system, they are rude and will hang up on you. They treat you like you are ignorant, will not listen and if they don't want to help they hang up. This company is a joke.

Manipulative
July 2, 2016

I applied for Care Credit for an orthodontic procedure that would cost about $3700. I have excellent credit, however I was drawn to the idea of Care Credit because their pamphlet mentioned a promotional period of 0% interest for 12 months. After applying, I was approved for $4600. First of all, I didn't like the idea of being approved for MORE than the cost of the procedure because I felt the doctor could drag out the procedure or find a way to take advantage of the extra money I was approved for. Second, and most importantly, there was NO mention of a promotional period after I was approved. I called Care Credit customer support and was told that the doctor's office would be able to see the promotional rates and periods I was eligible for after they scanned the card. The representative stated she didn't have access to any information regarding the promotional periods. I was very uncomfortable with this response. I called the doctor's office and informed them of the response given to me by Care Credit. The employee at the doctor's office told me that Care Credit is the one that would tell me the promotional rates and periods because they are the ones extending the credit to me. These conflicting responses have led me to decide not to use Care Credit. I'm putting the full amount of the procedure on one of my credit cards. I have several credit cards that offer 0% interest on balance transfers so I'll transfer the balance from the card I'll use to make the payment over to one of these promotional cards with the 0% interest for a year.

First - I have used CareCredit for years and it has been very handy. But I agree that no one in customer service knows anything. They make it up as they go along. I made a $4000 payment and got the usual email that it would not be reflected on my account for 48 hours. That was 7 days ago and it still is open on my account as due and the amount is not reflected in my available credit. I have since paid off the remaining balance in two payments over just over $200 dollars, which have been subtracted from my account and included in my available credit. Now about the missing $4000 - I called and was told that for large payments, it took 5 business day to credit because they had to make sure the amount was received (this was an electronic payment that was out of my bank account and in their bank account within minutes of its making - they sent me an electronic notice of receipt). They told me date it would be credited. That date came and went and no change, the amount is still listed as being due and not included in my available credit. I called again today, and was told for payment amounts over $500, they held crediting the payments for 10 days to make sure they get the money (which they have acknowledged they got on the day I made and which they acknowledge on my online statement by saying no further payments are due because the account is paid off). I asked was it 10 days or 10 business days. This one said they are supposed to say 10 business days, but since they do business on Saturday and Sunday, it really is 10 days. (Sorry, lady, you are making it up, business days is defined by law), So they will not reflect the payment, and increase the credit available until the hold period is up because they have to make sure they get the payment -- Fed law requires this? They really do make it up. I do not expect them to credit the payment until 10 business days have passed. Essentially they have had $4000 to do what they want to do to make money on it. In the interim, if one of my pets has a crisis, I do not that access to that $4000 to take of it. By having these hold periods, you are deprived of the use of your money and use of credit and it impacts on your credit score. This is a huge ripoff and some class action attorney should sue them again. I do not know when this started, but I do know I have made payments over $500 in the past and they credited them immediately.

I just got a letter in the mail stating that my credit limit has been lowered. I called to ask someone at CareCredit to review this with me but it's a true anomaly that NOBODY WHO WORKS THERE HAS ANY ANSWERS TO ANYTHING.
I have NO open claims against me.
I have paid off this card TWICE before, once for over $7,000 but the people who work here DON'T CARE. They are the RUDEST BUNCH OF A$$HOLES this side of the nuthouse.
I'll never use this card again due to the behavior of the d! Cks that work here. I'd rather go without then deal with them OR give them any of my money.
I hope all of their eyes fall out of their sockets and their a$$holes rot out.
F**K YOU CARE CREDIT.

This is the worst bank I have ever done business with. They must sit around their conference table and figure out ways to screw their customers. Need to be shut down!

When I called to inform about the passing of my wife and wanted information about the account the person was actually laughing on the other end of the line when I asked. I could go on about how horribly I was treated and the sneaky things they pulled on me but I will just leave it as run don't walk from synchrony and care credit. The customer service people are the absolute worst ever. Closed the account and told my dentist what happened so he would be cautious to recommend.

So because I make my payments on time I don't qualify for a lower interest rate? To qualify for a lower apr one must not make their payments on time each moth. That's the most absurd thing i think I've ever heard... Way to reward your good, loyal customers care credit. I'm shocked at my experience with customer service today. Very little help and just seemed in a hurry to get off the phone.

I've had Care Credit now since 2014 and have never had a problem with my account that was not immediately and respectfully resolved. Customer service has always been responsive and polite. I pay my bill every month before it's due and everything goes smoothly. I read the credit agreement they offered and am fully aware of how they operate. No surprises as some reviewers state they've experienced. Read and know your obligations for this card.

I feel bad others have trouble with this company but wanted people to know there are some positive experiences with Care Credit. You keep your end of the agreement and they will keep theirs. I would recommend this company.

I have used the card twice since I got it and have paid off the balance each time, but 2 months after getting it paid off my card was canceled due to inactivity... Wth? Inactivity? I just paid it off! Was about to use it again, but I don't have that opportunity anymore! I was told that it automatically canceles if you don't use it after a couple of months wtf kind of account/company is this! I'm so pissed!

Care Credit- First the name misleads you- this is the new financial scam that seems to be working. This bank can actually send you a bill that say's the MINIMUM DUE is say $150.00. If you pay what they ask for and only that and have say 5 different procedures billed independently your real bill might be $265.00. They will then charge you interest of say $80.00 which they add to your balance. EVERY billing procedure has an amount set as a minimum. If you on your own are not smart enough to figure this out -DONT MESS WITH THIS SHARK PERIOD... It will cost you a lot of money to play their game. And a game (that seems to be legal) it is. They have never got me for one dime extra- but you have to figure it out. WARNING. Honestly- wait and see a class action suit will be filed and they will either fall or change their PRACTICES because it is horrible for the working family.

Atrocious
May 17, 2016

Care credit representatives should probably be taught some manners! I have never dealt with such rude customer service in my life especially representatives named Tracey and Jan! Maybe they answer the same questions on a daily basis but there is no need to have an attitude or raise their voice to get their point across. I'm not sure how care credit will continue to have customers if their customer service reps drive people away!

Stand clear of this credit company! Our story in the short version was our pup contacted parvo. Looking to do what ever we could do to save his life, we hit a limit do to our wedding, cancelled the honeymoon and opened a credit account with creditcare to make up the balance. While applying at the receptionist desk at the vet ER, creditcare kept ensuring me that it was 6 months interest free with no other information but 6 months interest free. Later after calling them about unexplained interest fees, they explained to me that I "Enrolled" in a card security program. Weird, I was never informed about this... On top of it when I asked them to send me a copy of this enrollment they were "unable to locate/retrieve it" and will send me one as soon as they can. When I had my computer screen up on my account and questioned Paris-(the very condensending representative) about payments on my account she answered them wrong and none of the information she could give me was correct. This company will hold your hand when you're in need and bang you hard after! Go else where, don't fall into our hole.

Very misleading
May 10, 2016

This is a come on to get you to pay higher interest! It is confusing and not clear at all
That you will be charged interest even if you pay more than the minimum. I had a dentist
Visit that cost less than $200 and was paying on time and above the minimum and one
Visit cost less than 200 and they could not wait to charge me fees!
I will not use them again!
I have to wonder if my dentist knows about this practice!

My dentist recommended Care Credit for two costly procedures. We unfortunately do not have dental insurance because my husband is self-employed. Since Care Credit is
A "dedicated health and wellness credit line," and very often provides assistance to people who have no insurance or insufficient insurance, I just assumed Care Credit would provide that needed assistance at a fair interest rate. When I realized how little progress I've made in reducing my balance, I called Care Credit to get the current interest rate and learned it was approximately 28%. I was absolutely appalled that Care Credit could charge such a ridiculous interest rate, especially to the population they service. I blame myself for making so many assumptions; I just never could have imagined that a company would take advantage of people who need help with paying for health/dental care. I truthfully have never heard of such a high interest rate by a reputable company. Unless you are absolutely sure you can pay your balance off in one year, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy.

Great company

I have always use care credit and never have a problem. People need to take responsibility for reading the fine prints. Some of the reviews i read people are saying they did not get a bill. Well bill or no bill you are responsible to make your payment on time and before the six months interest free dead line.Do the math if you have a $300.00 bill and you have a monthly payment of $25.00 its going to take you 12 months to pay of a six month interest fee bill.

THE WORST
March 16, 2016

I spoke with the rudest people... I would never use care credit again! Some how I never got a bill from when I opened the account till January. I made my first payment in February, but could not cover all of the missed back payment and fee that i never got a bill for. With all the late fee and reports to the credit bureau that I believe is complete wrong for this company to do. I can't catch I am paying the minimum pay but i am still getting fee.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! AND THE WORST PEOPLE TO WORK WITH!

I had a good experience with Care Credit because I took a zero interest loan for a year and paid it before interest kicked in.

However, just out of curiousity, I called Care Credit when I had $1000 left on my bill.

I asked what would happen if I did NOT pay it off when the zero interest period expired. I was shocked to discover that I would have to, pay $845 in interest on TOP of the $1000 balance

And you can be sure that they are counting on people thinking that Care Credit works like any other credit card. It does not. So you can bet that I paid that off my bill in the zero interest time frame!

I think this Care Credit terms are misleading and not many people understand them. However, IF you can create an automatic payment and pay off the amount while you still have zero interest, you will be fine.

I would suggest you use another credit card in an emergency (if you don't have emergency savings) and do EVERYTHING you can to pay off the Care Credit card in time. The interest on your credit card as well as the minimum, pay, Nets will be FAR lower than the interest if you miss a Care Credit zero interest time frame.

I am extremely grateful that I was able to pay the amount before any interest kicked in because that interest-on TOP of my remaining balance - would have been awful.

You cannot use your HSA account to pay your care credit without getting fees. I was constantly getting charged fees and having to call and dispute them. The online system is very limited and makes it difficult to pay. This has been a huge hassle and has brought us a lot of stress. Also, I was not informed about the deferred accruing credit. This does not seem right to me and seems like a scam. The customer service people would help me but it was a struggle each time.

I opened an account. With care credit... they never told me that I would be paying 29 per cent if my bill wasn't paid in a year! They charged me over.$350 for interest even though I paid my bill every month. They are sharks. Stealing money from people who need it the most! Please do not use them.!

Carecredit is a bunch of sneaky crooks I will never ever use this company again. Faithful bill payer who now has 26.99% interest fees monthly because my bill isn't paid off in full yet. Unreal. Just paid 200$ less than a week ago and will be getting 130$ tacked on TOMORROW to my bill. If you are thinking of signing up I highly suggest finding somewhere else. There is better out there! If I wasn't in a pinch at the time I signed up I most definitely would have done better research. So disappointed in this company. Not to mention the customer service just transfers you to people who don't help and to places that aren't ever open. Very sad
