I have been using care credit for 11 yrs, everything is stated as in terms of this credit card. Have used uncountable times for vet and dentist. I have read several of these reviews and appalled that these users "don't get it" it's honestly not hard to understand. Where ever you use your card ( dentist, pharmacy, vet, etc. Determines what your interest free period is going to be usually based on the amount you spend. Example vet $200, they ask do you want that on 6mos. Or 12mos. "You answer" My dentist won't do over 12 mos. Even when after insurance I owed $2,000. Not care credits fault, they do have up to 24 mos. If where ever you use chooses to offer that to you. They set up your deferred interest time frame. Very simply if it's for 12 mos. Divide what you owe by 12 mos. Pay that amount (It will be payed off before you acquire the interest. Minimum payments are nice, if you don't have the "200."to pay from your calculations of what you needed that month and just catch up when you can. I pay usually every week online. Divide monthly payment by four, easier than taking it out of a week, anyway on every statement by mail and online it tells you when that deferred interest payment is due. If you need to use card again say vet on 6 mos. Payments then go to what is going to be due first so the deferred interest doesn't get charged. Make adjustments for that so your next payment do your 12 month with your 6 month divided and added to it so everything gets payed very simple and nice that there is a company that will loan you thousands interest free up to the alloted time... No scam... Minium due by monthly date is not to have it payed off in allotted time, it's minimum due each month to keep account open and not past due and goes toward what you owe. Home depot, Lowes, Best Buy... All the same if not paid by special purchase date 12 or 18 mos. You aquire INTEREST... AND about the same around 24% of coarse you can't use them incase of emergency at several different places. Your dentist or vet gets their payment right then, you just have to pay cc back... Wonderful to have... period

HORRIBLE
October 6, 2016

I am the epitome of a solid citizen. I own my own home, I have worked for the same company for 26 years. I am never late on any of my bills. I pay Care Credit on time every single month. I always pay more than the minimum balance. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my initial credit limit of 3K was downgraded to 1800. No explanation was given. I tried to on line chat with one of the "customer service people." Total joke. No one could answer what happened. I will pay off my balance, close the account and never use these jerks again. Let's see what happens to their business when they lose all the customers that actually pay their bills. Hope they go out of business.

I've been a customer for YEARS. I've been late once and i am spammed at least 10x a day. I can not use the online services as i was told for over 3 months that someone was trying to log in to my account, no matter how many times i changed both my user name AND password. The customer service people had no control over anything and were completely useless in a POTENTIAL FRAUD SITUATION. Having a banking background and knowing what they [mostly cannot] offer, I would rather apply for any other credit card than have this on my credit. It is just embarrassing at this point. If you are going to "provide" emergency credit support, answer the f****ing phone after 5:00 pm.

These people are a bunch of crooks! Don't use this company they are a bunch of blood suckers. The interest is sky high and when you call them all you get is an Indian who can't help you at all. When you ask for someone who speaks English they leave you on hold. They have no empathy and zero interest in helping you in any way. You'd be safer robbing a bank then dealing with these criminals.

Horrible
September 29, 2016

Appreciative they extended credit, but call the number to talk to someone and you have to go through hell going from one extension and say or enter and voice recognition NEVER works and after putting in information it directs you to another extension and same thing over and over, down right madness. Set up account online, then signing in did not recognize information I entired, then locked me out, pure hell on earth, calling the customer service number went through that nightmare to get a rude agent which did not resolve the problem or situation, went in and uninstalled app, will send a check in, inconvenient but easier than dealing with the madness and frustration of a system set up by a bunch of idiots

Difficult if not impossible to access due to impenetrable IVR system and the third party providing credit card is twice as bad. Plus, they are only accessible for assistance with such trivial matters as login (because they upgraded their system and disabled user names) is M-F when the rest of us are working. Totally unacceptable. Obviously they need competitors.

WHAT THE HELL
September 14, 2016

I have never in my life experienced such horrible service. The people who answer the phones to "help you" dont know anything. Then when i asked to speak to someone in management they said i cant. And the whole reason i called them in the first place was because i owe a $250 late charge for being 8 days late on my very first payment because i thought my payment was due on the day i went to pay it... When i tried to explain to them it was my first month paying and i got my pay date mixed up they said there was nothing they could do... I have never in my life! $250 dollars for a week late? Ive had $20 dollar month late fees waived with no problem but really TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A WEEK LATE AND THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO thats unheard of. Ive never been so angry in my life.

They are horrible! They have been nothing but liars to me and my husband. Said no interest for 6 months if bI'll is completely paid in that time period... but they ended up charging us a crap load of interest. They're total liars.
When I tried to seek help for something very easy, such as accessing my account number, I had to deal with a robot over 'live chat' for over an hour that kept telling me the same BS stuff. Don't call it 'LIVE CHAT' when the people you're talking to, ARE NOT EVEN ALIVE!
Don't bother going this route. These people are very unethical, and it will be hell just trying to get some help!

BEWARE
August 31, 2016

They tell you the first year is interest free, that is the first lie. My original bill was 1920. 00. After paying 100.00 every month for the last 15 months I still owe 1226. 16. When I called to question them, I was told I have to write a letter to the company. She was Rude and gave me no information over the phone. She tried to tell me I had additional charges. I did, a 120.00 dentist charge. 120.00? Really? She is trying to make me believe that little charge added so much more to my bill. I have closed my account and fully intend to request a full review. I am begining to think these companies encourage us to go "paperless" in hopes that we will just make our monthly payment without reading the statement. Stay away from this company!

This company has told me so many lies. First I was told I had one year free interest, after 6 months they added $900 to my acct for interest and $120 every month after. My min payment is 119.00/month and I always pay $400-$500 monthly and my payment seems to never decrease. I have called several times and all I get is a bunch of rude, lying representatives.

I have been a Care Card customer for almost 10 years. Never been late on a payment, never missed a payment. Only used the card for vet emergencies and always paid it off in the allotted time to keep my interest rate at 0%.
Took my cat to the hospital for an emergency tonight and tried to use the credit card and it was declining. Called customer service and was told that my account was closed due to my credit status. The girl told me they do periodic credit reviews and mine had too many issues to keep it open so they closed it. I explained that I have never had any issues with this card, and in fact my credit is far superior now to when I opened the card. She said it doesn't matter, she can see my account wad in good standing with Care Credit but it's not just based off your history with care them. I asked if there was anything that could be done, because I also don't want this reported negatively as a closed account in my credit; I have been a good customer, etx. She said no-nothing can be done. What a way to treat your customers! Is it even legal to check your credit if you don't agree to it (unless it's at the time that you open the account)? Thanks for nothing Care Credit, and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know how awesome you are!

Customer service sucks. Two days late in a payment after being a customer for 8 years, and they assess a late fee of $37. You tell them why you were late and they don't care. (Son was in the hospital for three days). But that shouldn't even matter. Two days. Really. $#*! hats. I'll pay them off in full next month anyway, that way they can stop screwing me.

I HAVE USED CARE CREDIT IN THE PAST FOR DENTAL CHARGES, BUT BECAUSE I DID NOT PAY OFF THE CHARGES IN A YEAR CARE CREDIT ADDED OVER $600 TO MY LOAN. DON'T BORROW ANY MONEY FROM THIS COMPANY. THE INTEREST RATE IS 30% AND I HAVE GREAT CREDIT. WHATS UP WITH THAT? I NEVER HAD TROUBLE IN THE PAST BUT NOW IT IS TERRIBLE.

Deceptive Company
August 9, 2016

I have heard stories about their deception. Healthcare providers should be extremely cautious dealing with them. Read any application, document that comes from them, especially the fine print.

I worried about all of the negativity I read in these horrific reviews, yet honestly, Care Credit has been extremely wonderful to me! They REFUNDED / charged-back $3000. 00 to my account, resulting from my nearly dying from a Dental Malpractice living-nightmare! They offered a refund check to me, with the option to credit the entire amount BACK to my Care Credit account, while PENALIZING the dentist for his malpractice. The Credit Fraud Department told me they were on my side, and they urged me to SUE the awful dentist for nearly killing me, since I ended up in ICU on LIFE-SUPPORT for 10 days after choking in my sleep on the faulty corroded dental implant, which became stuck in my esophagus, as I awoke gasping for air, and somehow awakening on life support 10 days later. The hospital contacted Care Credit for me, submitting my medical records, and Care Credit began processing my refund IMMEDIATELY, while sending me get-well notifications that they were all PRAYING FOR ME!

Give them a break folks! I don't work for them. I'm a consumer just like each of you, so all of this negative publicity is unfair!

Best Wishes, & God bless you all...

My dentist turned me on to care credit for my dental implants and I paid 8500 to care credit and 6000 + in cash to my dentist. But if I knew that at the end I was going to be caught up with this companies slick financial practices I would have stayed or found another way. If anyone needs financial help don't use synchrony bank or CareCredit they do not use best practice when it comes to loaning money. You would be better off going to your bank or credit union. They synchrony and care credit are not in the business of helping people but ripping the off if they can. I'm paying the 5000 more because I paid my last promotion a month late. And then they inform me. They don't give alerts prior to like most companies call or email. They just leave it on the site but not obviously so you won't miss it they put under promotional field when they should have automatic alerts to your phone your email or call automatically. That would improve their customer service but not them.

I did not have the whole balance available in cash or on care credit to go pick up my dogs remains from the vet. I talked to care credit and was told that if I used my atm debit card the balance would be available immediately. I explained my entire situation. After making the payment knowing I needed $400 they transferred the vets office to someone else who processed the payment and it was denied. After being transferred repeatedly and sitting in the vets for 45 mins. Everything they told me has since became wrong and I was now in a position where I couldn't bring my pet home. My pet might not be able to come home because of this. I have to play their waiting game.

This does not work like a regular credit product. This company charges interest on the original balance until paid! Other credit products as you pay the interest charges decrease but not this. If you charge a big amount you will be paying forever! This should not even be legal. It is a complete scam. I learned my lesson. Will never use again or recommend. Get another card or credit line. This is an ultimate last resort and not even then would I ever use again!
