In 2018, I took my dashund to a veterinarian to have his teeth pulled. I am on SSI and could not afford my Vet. Bill for my dog. The veterinarian's office applied for me Care Credit so I could get help for my dog. I was told that I would only have 6% interest and I would pay Care Credit each month. My bill was around $700.00. Well, here it is 2020 and I still owe $466.00. I pay my bill early each month and even pay way over the minimum amount. Well come to find out I did not pay the promotional balance and was tacked a high interest rate, raising my bill a little over $200.00. If I had that money, I would not have gotten this awful card in the first place! They are going to do that to me again in August as well! This company does not care and will use every excuse in the book to scam customers! They put all that in fine print and knowing full well people like myself will never get this paid off! I have had to go to foodbanks because I have been paying extra to pay my Care Credit bill! I have contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for help. I encourage everyone else to do the same! Instead of receiving help, this has done nothing biut cause financial burden amd hardship for me! Do not get this card! They do not care about their customers! This is wrong how they are doing people! I may also see if Legal Aid can help me if I cannot get any help! This is an unfair policy and is dicrimnation against people on a fixed income! They will not budge and their policy needs to be fixed! Stay away from Care Credit! They will scam you out of every dollar you have and will only make excuses and justify their unethical policy! They need to be held accountable and that is exactly what I am going to try to do!

You can pay your bill on time for years but they run your credit every month to see your score. If they do not like it they will close your account (regardless of you're payment history with them and your score consistently increasing) and as soon as you pay your balance down to $0, they add "remarks" to your credit and close your account without any prior notice. This will drop your score substantially and the representatives will simply tell you to wait for a letter in the mail. Do not use this company. They will damage you in the long run.

After 9 years, they allowed my soon to be ex husband to call and cancel my card. They said his info was on the account but I disagree with that. I applied and was approved in my name and income. Stay away. Unethical business practices!

It's disheartening to hear that during this pandemic "CARE" Credit it not offering relief to it's customers. Yes they offered to defer a payment to "help" me out but since my promotional purchase expires next month if I do not pay in full I will incur all of the interest charges. Please explain how deferring my payment will help me? Deferring my payment will help THEM as it will cost me way more in the long run. Ridiculous.

Do not get this card. They closed my account out today. Yes I made my payments on time and I did pay my balance off on March 2020 way before my due date. So since I couldnt use this card for two month due to covid 19 they closed it out for no activity. Made my credit score drop. What a bull crap card this is.

Buyer beware!
May 11, 2020

I utilized the care credit card to have a root canal taken care of. When it came time to pay the bills, I requested a paperless statement and gave them my email. Over the course of four months, I never received a statement via email, nor received any statement at all. My first payment was late, because I never received a statement with due dates, yet I was informed via email that I would be charged "late fees". I called and requested these fees be removed. They were. Here is where this company begins its unethical behavior. I never got another email statement, even though, I gave this company my email address 4 separate times. I acquired 2 more late fees, while not getting statements in the mail or email. I simply was not informed of due dates for payments, but was informed that I will be assessed late fees. I attempted to contact them again, to give them my email address to make sure I get statements so I am not late with my obligations. Long story short, to this day I have not received an email statement, nor a mailed paper statement. Yet I have been assessed late fees three times. This is clearly a strategic way for this component to make money; They do not inform you of when payments are due, but inform you immediately when they are assessing late fees.

SCAM ARTISTS
May 10, 2020

I went to the dentist like most of the reviews and was told I had a 12 month promotion for interest free payments to make paying off the balance easier. I am usually great with credit cards and have every thing set on auto pay making sure Im never late. Apparently they changed the promotion to 6 months and I have been paying interest for the last few months. I have paid $300 in interest and get this I still owe $783 out of my original $879 balance. So I have paid $300 in interest and $100 towards my principle. This practice should be illegal. I will make sure that I call my dentist office and tell them to discontinue using this company. THEY ARE THE WORST. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU. STAY AWAY.

This card closed my account without my knowledge and based it on fraudulent activity on my credit report that I have not done. I would not recommend this card because they don't care if you pay on time and can close at any time. Now I have no card for the dentist after covid is over and my transunion report was cleared but it doesn't matter they already closed it and said I have to reapply. Don't get this card they don't care and will close it anyway even in a pandemic. I called to ask them to do a credit bureaus check to see if they can reopen as my credit does not have the false negative marks. They said no this is why I hate credit it's not even based of something I did wrong and I'm still penalized by carecredit

I'm always on time for my payments, never missed one within the year of having my account. In March about the time when Covid hit I was furloughed from my job and was two days late on my payment and they dropped my credit limit hundreds of dollars! When I called and explained the situation, I was told that there was nothing they can do! A whole year of on time payments I never received one increase on my account... yet, one day late they dropped my credit limit SIGNIFICANTLY. Shame on Care Credit for not taking care of their customers during a pandemic! I will be paying off my credit card, chopping up my card and throwing it in the trash where this company belongs!

Do not get involved with this credit company! Please listen to all these reviews. They charge so much on your card if for interest and on top of it, if you don't pay the day it's due they will charge you that same day AT NIGHT the late fee and interest. I have gone so many times to pay my monthly on the day it's due in the late afternoon and by then they have already put the late fee, when it's still that day and I should still have time until midnight? I just paid and closed my account. Wish I could sue them honestly. It shouldn't be fair how much they charge you. When your free 6 month/year of interest is up they sneak an entire $777 or higher amount on your card. Well there goes all your money you put towards paying it off! Sign up if you wanna watch your money go down the toilet

Rip off!
April 24, 2020

They take advantage of people who need help! They get their money and then some! If you don't pay by 12 months you have to pay all the interest of all the 12 months. Even if you were making payments. The money goes to the most recent charge. So you think you are paying off your old account but you are paying the most recent and then in 12 months you pay 800$ in fees! BEWARE!

Care Credit is absolutely awful. They robbed me of so much money for the last 6 months. I knew what I was dealing with when they started harassing me for payments only after a month of getting dental surgery. I would call and complain, but from reading these reviews, I can see there's no use. I just paid them off in full, and I'm still waiting for them to find some kind of way to rob me some more. Care Credit is absolutely awful!

I cannot stress enough how crooked this company is. I was charged exorbitant interest for promotional charges due to my payments being misapplied. It's all by design. After explaining how the payments should've been applied, I was told that if they go in and correct, it would generate interest on other balances. Again, all by design. I even have recordings of conversations with reps where they admit the mistake but offer no adjustments on interest. Watch your statements carefully & DO NOT GO PAPERLESS, as this is what they're counting on... that you won't bother to view your statements and see how they're applying payments. Bottom line, they are a PREDATORY LENDER and take advantage of individuals who need assistance with medical bills. How do they sleep at night?

We have this card for years now and today, our balance is $0. Last time, we have used Care Credit for a pet charity. Through our credit monitoring service, we have just learned that they decreased our credit limit, at a time when potentially people can use this card. Both me and my husband share this card, and we both have a steady high credit score. In other words, no reason to modify this limit other than trying to preempt people to use a HEALTH credit card during a pandemic.

Never missed a single payment for any of my cards. Out of a sudden, without any change in my financial life and without any previous communication, CareCredit closed my account saying that they see a high risk in my account!
What a wrong way to treat a customer...
