July 11, 2020

They are the worst credit card company ever my account was open on Wednesday and I checked yesterday and all of a sudden it's closed they claim they have a right to close my account due to high balances on my credit history which have been paid off. They were rude to me on the phone I don't recommend them

If you have good credit and pay your bills each month this is the way to go. Don't bother if you are not conscientious and cannot pay more than the minimum each month. The way I do it that ends up being the best deal is to take the total due and divide it by the number of months left to pay on the promotional balance, usually 12 to 18 months. I never pay interest and get the benefit of credit.

I would have given this horrible lying cheating company less than 1 star if I could. I made my payments on time each month (actually early each month) because I did NOT pay it on their due date (early as previously stated) I was charged a late fee. They took my money every month and charged a late fee stating I did not make any payment. Avoid this company like the plague. This company is worse than paycheck advance companies. I don't understand how companies like this can continually rip people off and sleep at night!

Unfortunately, I did not manage my CareCredit card closely enough. I didn't realize they had been assessing some phony Security Fee each month and then interest on that. Total Rip Off. I am cancelling my card.

Late fee mishap
June 26, 2020

I'm never late with my payments. I always use my bank bill pay to pay them. For some reason my bank sent the payment late and they charged me $70 late fee! So ridiculous! I called and spoke to a manager and they said they couldn't do anything for me! No customer service, no help! Just the typical, "i understand you're upset". Such BS to treat good, on time paying customers.

They have a bad system for verifying their own customers. The process has difficulty verifying their own customers. I felt they were rude and didn't want to help me. I still do not have access to my own account and had to unenroll from paperless to regular mail so that I can stay up to date with my account. I no longer wish to be a customer after many years. Be aware that this process include taking a 30 second video of yourself. This can be embarrassing for some people who don't feel comfortable with their methods.

I make numerous payments a month to pay off "promotional periods" quicker, however care credit allocates your payments where they see fit, causing you to believe promotional periods are paid off - when they aren't, and they they charge you outrageous on interest. I ended up paying close to $500 in interest that I shouldn't have since I paid off my promotional periods, but care credit allotted my money elsewhere. Company sucks, customer service is even worse.

I wish I had read the reviews before getting them to finance my lasik operation. The dr told me that it will be 24 months interest free financing I said great I'll apply for care credit and once I applied I notice on care credit for some reason there only giving me 6 months free interest. Long story short I gave customer services a call stating that I should have 24 months ANd not 6 months lady stated that no it's only 6 months unless you prove to us. I said the doctor even entered in the system that I receive 24 months interest free financing. Basically care credit said that there i no such thing as 24 months and that the dr needs to call us and prove to us it's 24 months. I wish I knew how shady this company is I will never do business with them again and i will inform my friends to stay away from them!

They have you do a verification process which is normal. Take your name, address, social. Then they bring you to a third party site and have you take a video of yourself (weird but fine). Then they ask you for a picture of your driver's license. After attempt after attempt, they couldn't match my driver's license picture with my video and they finally locked me out.

I called them up and they said nothing they could do about it, I will receive a letter in the mail in 7-10 business days explaining why I was rejected. (Well apparently it was from their failure to identify me visually) I've never had to visually verify myself ever in my life during a credit application process.

On top of all, head manager, Susan (Employee ID: SJM) was extremely rude and didn't even know how the company process worked.

This is all well and fine but don't run my credit if you're going to have me jump through hoops to be approved only to shut me down because you couldn't visually identify me relative to my state driver's license.

Do not use!
June 18, 2020

What a joke. An 820 credit score- but their identity software had an issue with my covid hair. So sorry I even bothered. Just wanted to space payments on a big vet bill for my poor little dog. I could have paid cash- and will. Don't take the hit to your score! Avoid care credit!

They wanted a video proof verification of myself for 10 seconds to fill out for credit. No other companies even have asked that. They didn't ask another person the same, just me.

Unfortunately I acquired several expenses with this card as one of my dogs got very sick and needed urgent care. I took advantage of the fact they offered different promotions and made the "smaller" purchases under a no interest if paid in full within 6 months promotion and the "larger" purchase with fixed monthly payments and interest charges. I have always paid my statements on time and way above the minimum payment so I can pay this debt off fast. However, ever since I made the big purchase, their customer service representatives lie to me about the payment allocations that are being made with my payments. I pay off the minimum fixed payment on the big purchase and would like the rest of my payment allocated to the smaller purchases (something I confirmed with the company could be done before I made the purchases) and even though they claim they have done it, they never do! I have to call them 5 or 6 times per billing cycle to get their mistake rectified and in some cases they still don't fix it and once the new statement comes out there is nothing to be done. They have also lied about other issues. It is a nightmare!

COVID19
June 9, 2020

Not only do they kill you on interest rates, they're one of the most difficult companies to work with. With everything going on with COVID19, most companies have compassion. I was 5 days late, payment do on the 4th, pure over sight. I went to make a payment on the 9th and discovered they shut off the card.

I called and sat on hold for over 45 minutes, they claim "due to COVID19". WOW!

Get a Discover card!

You will literally be paying on this card for 12 years if you follow the steps they prompt you to do. Your balance will increase monthly instead of decrease && when you call to try to fix matters they'll only make them worse && say "I'm sorry. It's policy. Wish there was more I could do."

Scammers
June 6, 2020

I would give zero stars if possible. I paid this card off $2,301 before the promotion due date to save on the interests. I always check my accounts after I pay them off for the next monthly cycle to make sure is $0 balance. I found out I had a $555 balance because I was signed up for some card security program that I never authorized. Each month that the card security was charged, care credit charge me interest on that as a new purchase. This is a scam, if I would have waited till the due date it would have been double that or a lot more. Customer service is horrendous. They don't care about the customer, they just want take peoples money. I would steer clear of any Dentist that uses their program, because it's a rip off.

Legal robbery
June 5, 2020

Everyone! Be very careful if you got this card. You can do only online payment. In order to do that you have to download the app called "CareCredit". As soon as you open the app, sign in into your account, there will be a system security payment that will automatically connect to your account. They will change a huge % for rest of your payment. Synchrony Bank will send you an email that you could cancel this option during 90 days. There will be link to their website and phone that supposed to help you to call them and cancel the option. But unfortunately it's IMPOSSIBLE! They did everything for you TO NOT CONTACT THEM! So you could still have this program and they could charge money from your account. It is like "legal robbery". You have to call to CareCredit service, contact with a real manager and tell him/her that you would like to cancel this function and that you need their help with this! Whatever they tell you, you know that they are ABLE AND RESPONSIBLE TO DO THAT! THAT IS A LАW! If you canceled the function before 90 days past, THEY MUST TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK! THIS IS ALSO A LAW! Good luck and please try not to deal with unclear. ALWAYS CHECK THE INFORMATION BEFORE APPLYING FOR ANYTHING!

Beware!
June 4, 2020

Could not even use my account for the purpose I applied for because I did not get my card in a timely manner. That's forgivable, but the customer service when I called for my card information was a joke. They sent me a 'one time code' (this code is 5 digits- impossible to mess this up) and the lady said it was wrong even though she was clearly entering it incorrectly. The solution for this was not for them to simply send another code, it was to send me mail with another 'one time code'! By that time I will have the card and the procedure I need will already have happened and paid for OUT OF POCKET! The incompetence is unbelievable.
