I paid 632.00 on a promotional period vet bill to bring that balance to zero. I specifically told the customer service rep. To apply this to my promotional balance. The next month all the charges were rolled over into the regular charges. Somehow, I had 632.00 in charges when I had not purchased anything. I have paperless billing and they say that I can"t access bills older thsn 3 months. It is their view that I can't prove they took my money.
The oral surgeon promoted the care credit promotion of no interest if paid off in 12 months. I signed up for autopay using their calculator of amount needed per month to pay in full by the year. Somewhere along the line, it changed to minimum due. I never noticed it because I got e-statements and my email said my auto payment had paid. No indicator of amount. So, I now owed more than the original amount. Be aware of these promotions.
Care Credit was confusing right out the gate. The system is not user friendly, for my first payment I accidentally ended up paying off the $5,000 promotional non interest loan. However, a representative set me up for Paperless billing that only appeared on my phone and with a payment that was suppose to have the loan paid off before the expiration date BUT it was only the minimum payment so I had a balance at the end. In March, I did not get a statement, (Covid?) warning me that my promotion was about to expire. My promotion ended, unbeknownst to me so I ended up paying $2,340 finance fee plus 29% interest. I spoke with 5 different representatives and NONE of them had the authority to renegotiate any of the fees. I will NEVER use this company again. I am so angry and feel like a fool for letting this slip through the cracks. Find a different company, I am also angry that the doctor offices push these loans, I could have taken the money out of my retirement fund now I just wasted $2,340.
They are horrible. They dint help at all. Interest charges every month. Don't do it! Find a better company
Had over 10 yrs, when care credit started for medical a/! 6000 credit amount. Used many times & thousands $ paid to care credit. Hadn't used for a little while & just tried to pay a medical procedure w/card that is still good & found out card was shut
Off 3 months prior, not used enough was told. The young people (3 at care credit) would not reinstate & was told to reapply.
I reapplied & was denied? The care credit young people couldn't state why only that I'll rec ltr in mail. You shoved out a great customer, care credit, & you are losing out on thousands of $. Thank you for treating a loyal & very good customer this way.
I had their card for 10 years, made payments on time, even got it to a zero balance. One day out of the blue, they close my account. The Customer Service agents tells me they looked at my credit and I didn't have a mortgage, so they decided to close my account. Before you assume, no there wasn't anything negative on my credit with all three credit agencies. The Customer Service agent said there is nothing they could do and promptly dismissed me after 10 years. Synchrony bank has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Simply put, they are worse than the criminals in the streets. I was under a promotional agreement that expired during the COVID-19 pandemic (which affected me and my family). I was sick and not paying physically able to focus on anything other than my medical condition. My payments were being sent automatically from my bank so I took comfort that I didn't have to look at anything. When I realized that the promotional period expired I immediately paid my balance of $1989 of the $3,600 borrowed. I asked for an extension/waiver/adjustment to extend the period an additional 8 weeks. I was flatly denied and hit with $1,816.00 in finance charges. THIS AMOUNT WAS BASED ON A BALANCE OF $4,178.27. The CREDIT EXTENDED WAS ONLY $3,600.00. Criminals.
I had been charged interest every month, even during the 6 month interest free promo. I tried and tried to call and talk to someone, but was difficult while at work. Finally got a hold of them today, after waiting 15 minutes on hold. Their representative was rude, she blamed me and wouldn't listen. I just wanted to know why I paid interest every month and why in March, they charged me $218 in interest in one month. She said we spent less than $200 each charge, and if I read the contract, I would know we would be charged interest. I explained that my very first charge was for the emergency vet and an overnight stay that was over $1500. She argued with me and talked over me and told me I made all of these purchases under $200 and she said I should check with my co-applicant. I tried to explain that I am the only with the card and then she hung up on me. These interest charges are insane, $218 in one month! I will also tell everyone to stay away! I was in an emotionally vulnerable state of losing my 14 year old dog, and they take advantage of that. I am still paying for our baby we lost in November, and with these interests rates, I will be paying for year. I will pay this off in full and close this account.
The only reason Care Credit exists is because people are desperate for medical, dental, or veteranarian help. Most of these places require payment in full at the time of service. Many of us are desperate to get help and will do almost anything to get the help needed and that's where they come in.
If you don't use it regularly or keep a balance you will have to reapply before you are issued a new account #. Personally had 3.
If you need to reach an operator on the automated system, don't respond to the cues. Otherwise you can't reach the operator for a long time. You must go all the way to the end of all the prompts before you you will have the option for an agent, and it's very annoying. It also can't understand high pitched voices.
When you finally reach an operator/agent they all seem quite helpful and friendly but as I said it takes a long time.
Ask the service you are seeking if there is any other payment option available before signing up. If you must set an account up make sure it's autopay because you will pay dearly for any missed payment.
Don't work with these people, they will charge you interest on bills that have been paid. I was charged an extra interest on bills paid by this card
I went to Boulder Dental Center for an expensive tooth implant, which was well over $3,000. They had care credit pamphlets all over and were more than happy to get me to sign up for one saying it's the best way to pay off balance with no interest if paid within promo period. I was told I had a 12 month promotion for interest free payments to make paying off the balance easier. They had me pay in two separate transactions (over 1,300 for both payments.) But apparently without my knowledge or explanation they used the 12 month promo period on one of my purchases but changed the promotion for the second transaction to 6 months. It makes no sense, I signed up for 12 months with the dentist and they had not informed me that the second transaction I made was not included in the promo period I originally signed up for. You'd think if I applied for 12 months at first, they'd sign me up for 12 months again or include it with my first purchase since it was for the same procedure. They scam you by going paperless with statements that don't inform you of promo periods ending, or that you've accumulated interested until after they charge you for it, as well as sneakily signing you up for the shortest promo period banking on you not noticing and not paying off balance within the time frame like they did for me. Luckily for me, I noticed just in time once I saw my due balance increased by $125 from interest, and caught it in time before 30 day grace period ended and they helped me take interest off so I could pay rest of balance in full and never deal with them again. After reading reviews which I should have done before singing up (but dentist makes it sound SO easy and in your best interest like they're doing to a favor even though it's you that's doing them a favor and how they make money off you.) This practice should be illegal. I even called care credit about not having signed up for 6 months at all and they told me there's nothing they can do and to call dentist. Called Boulder Dental Center multiple time through out the month saying they'll look into it without ever getting back to me until I kept calling and finally told me your initial services was a different promotion then we are offering with your second services so unfortunately there's nothing that we can do. That's how they get you. Complete scam on both ends. Never using this card again and Boulder Dental center lost my business and will be getting the same review. If I could give 0 stars I would. Reading the reviews it also states if you haven't used card in a while even if you've paid balance in full, they will close your account and drop credit score. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of care credit and companies who try to make you sign up for them. They will scam you.
If you are not going to utilize this card DO NOT APPLY! They will close your card without notice. I never had to use this card until I had an emergency and was able to pay the balance in full. 8 months later they closed it due to inactivity. It makes you feel like you are forced to use credit when you don't need to.
I recently used my care credit card at my dentist. I received my first statement and they already put a finance fee on there. This was my first bill since dentist. I wrote them because calling you end up speaking to India. No replie. I will close.my account.
6 months 0% interest actually means 6 months deferred interest. I woke up to find a nearly 1k charge on my account. Technically this is my fault but the distinction (which was not made clear) made a huge difference In value. There were other more affordable options at multiple points from financing through the provider, using a card with a lower apr, transferring balance to a card with a real 0% rate, HELOC, cash... lots of things you should consider before laying down with this dog.
With my assistance, my senior Mother applied for CARECREDIT to help pay a dental bill over time without interest... It turned out to be Biggest hassle and waste of our time ever for credit. First I had to get an affidavit notarized by my bank because I didn't own a smart phone, only a flip phones. Then we followed all the procedures only to not have an answer the day of the Dental Surgery to pay our dentil bill so I had to put on my regular credit card. Then when all the paperwork came by mail regarding the account along with the card, I could not find any information pertaining to how long my debt would be deferred based on $4,000. Would it be 6, 12, 18, or 24 months and then I read that all other non promotional purchases would be charged interest at 26.99 % Interest! When I tried to chat to get the answer I got a short reply from a rep that posted only the phone number to call... so I called, then the rep told me that I need to put my mother on the line... I did but then they said she had to stay on the line and apparently I could not ask the question and get the answer, it had to be my mother who doesn't hear well and need assistance but they never allowed me to talk to them in order to get my question answered. They kept playing games that they can not talk to me, only my mother... SO Frustrating! I told them to close the account because they were very sketchy about a simple question that should be clearly posted in the card holder documents, about how long the interest would be deferred on a qualified purchase. Should be SIMPLE but we never could find out the truth... I am glad to get out now as I can only imagine that my first bill would show 26.99 % Interest charged and I would never get a resolved without paying in full. IF it is this hard to get a simple question answered, I am glad not to have thousands of dollars subject to such a rip off interest rate... This whole thing stinks of PREDITORY COMPANY due to the lack of solid information necessary to make a smart decision on the use of their credit offer.
I had to contact this company today. I had a card with them for my medical expenses. I paid the balance off in full. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow only to find out today they closed my account last week. After speaking to a representative, I was told I am a high risk customer. After being laid off from work due to covid, I took a month to get my payments back on track. This company doesn't even take this into consideration. It's really a plus for me because I will not have to pay them any money back, Terrible business practices.
Gave it 2 stars ONLY because it helped save my cats life last July. Other than that, I would give it 0 for the way they screwed me.
Had an $800 limit. Used it for an emergency vet situation for our poor kitty. Paid off the almost $700 in the 6 month interest free period. Didn't use for 6 months and I look at my credit score the other day and it went down 40 & 50 points because they closed the account! How dare them! On time payments. Credit was being built. I was saving that card for my cat because he has bladder issues & I was also waiting for my dentist office to open in order to get my painful tooth fixed. How can I have 100% on time payments on all credit cards, and especially cards through their company and because I didn't use it for 6 months(I thought having a low or no balance was a good thing for credit scores) they close my oldest account and now my credit score is so bad I can't even get the loan I was about to get for a new vehicle. This can't be legal to do to someone! They don't take into consideration my good income: debt ratio? Or my 100% on time payments on all cards and loans? I'm so upset about it and I have no idea what to do because there's no way my score will go up that many points anytime soon just making my payments as usual. They are scammers. They are probably mad that they didn't get to make the money from the high interest they would have charged me because I paid my whole balance off within that 6 month promotional period. Any suggestions or if anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear from you. Thank you! Not sure if I can leave this but I'll try. Email- *******@yahoo.com

I used the 0% interest promotional offer for the $1,500 deductible that I needed for my BA. And used the 14% interest for 24 months to pay the rest. I wanted to pay off the $1,500 In like 3 months that was the plan. But unfortunately they bundled both and have me a fixed interest rate because they assumed that I wanted to pay 7k in 7 years hence they get their interest. I suggest get 0% interest for one year instead of what I did. Pay it off fast! Or else you will be stuck!
I never write reviews but I had to share the scam this company is. I over paid a month back- $100 to make sure that I paid off my care credit card and shut my account and I was told I would be credited this money ($100)back! I patiently waited 1 month and in that time- according to care credit " 2 checks" were issued and mailed to me and the explanation marry - THE Account MANAGER gave me was that she was checking incase the "checks issued" was cashed by me? What?!?! When I had not even received the checks(which is why I was on call) and they had been voided by company. I was provided with the most lame excuses you can find! And to top it off I asked if she would transfer me or provide me with someone with a higher authority since she couldn't help me she HUNG UP ON ME! Also, I was on WAIT FOR 40 MINUTES!
They tell you one thing and end up screwing you over. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT get a credut card with them unless you want to be in debt on purpose! Terrible terrible people.
