Don't use this company!
December 2, 2020

I'm essentially going to have to pay over $5000 on a $4000 loan. They are all over the place even their managers. I was told I could have deferred payments after covid hit and could pay remaining balance by October. Even managers were extremely rude. What is the point of saying calls are recorded when you can't easily access the recordings? Or listen to them accurately. This company sucks! SCAMMERS!

Canceled for no reason
November 27, 2020

I just received notice - " we have decided to cancel your card."The reason was "not enough credit." Meaning I am not in debt I guess. I paid every single bill early or on time, always more than the basic payment, often 3 times the amount. I payed off the last payment early by paying the entire balance. I have one other card - MasterCard - and I am the same with them... early and in double and triple amounts, and have excellent standing with them. I have no other loans nor any delinquent accounts. I have no debts, no unpaid mortgage or rent. I am current as always, with all my bills. The only thing I can think of is I have not used the card in over a year and they don't like that. They sent me several "special offers," which I ignored. To heck with CareCredit. Bad business, don't risk.

Terrible Customer Service
November 16, 2020

I have The Misfortune to apply for CareCredit for some extra money to pay for my cataract surgery. They sent me an email saying they weren't going to send me a letter but they disapproved my request even though I have a 775 credit score. They couldn't give me any reason and told me to wait for the letter. I never got a letter I called them twice and both people that answer the phone yelled at me, and were extremely rude and condescending. They were not helpful at all. I will never ever give this company my business and my business and credit score are excellent. They had no Foundation to disqualify me and they won't give me an answer they just keep telling me to wait for the mail. There is no mail! I guess they must all get trained by the same rude belligerent aggressive abusive guidelines. Save your money go somewhere else do not give these people your business they suck!

Unhelpful support
November 3, 2020

I am also very disappointed with the customer service at carecredit. I called twice about questions with my credit card statement and both times I didn't get the help I needed. The agents I talked to seem so unknowlegeable. They also talked down on me as I was trying to get assistance related to financial hardship from covid. The first agent told me they weren't even offering help, when it clearly says that on their website. Come armed with cold facts if you have to call them. They will just make up something to get you off the phone. So unhappy! Would not use them again after I manage to close these accounts!

Stay away from this bottom line, bottom feeder company! They prey on your duress and stab you in the back when all is said and done. Pandemic help or grace, not a chance. A company based on non-human values.

Sure can't count on them
October 26, 2020

I got the card under duress when my dog was sick. Paid the few thousand dollar balance off as agreed with no late payments. Less than a year from the pay off, I needed to use the card again only to find out they had closed my account with no notice. There is no care at care credit. I say find another card.

My vet suggested I use Carecredit for no interest funds for 6 months. I tried to apply online and they inserted someone else's email address as my primary email address. There was no help number I could call. I tried to apply online and half way through the application it kicked me out like it crashed. Again, NO phone number to call. Then I looked at real reviews - I am so happy I never completed the application process/. Hopefully when we get consumer orientated government back then can investigates consumer scams.

It's a SCAM!
October 21, 2020

Care Credit is a high interest credit card at 29.99%... close to 30% interest. It is not insurance. The company cheats the customer by changing the "deal" (promotion) each time you use the card. I was unaware of this until another doctor told me about the Care Credit scam. My doctor's receptionist told me the "deal" was for 2 years with no-interest but Care Credit changed the "deal's" due date to 6-12 months without my knowledge. They started calculating the interest at the point of sale which continued to add up each day. When Care Credit claimed the charge was due, the interest was already high. My $2000 charge accumulated $700 of interest in 4 months. Though, the interest was supposed to be deferred for another 7 months. No interest should have been charged. At that point my statement balance was only $808 but they still charged $700 interest 7 months before the deferred interest "deal" expired. Care Credit changed the "deal" without my knowledge and changed the due date so it would expire earlier. Care Credit refused to remove the interest, even during Covid 19 when we had close to 1000 people dying each day in NYC. They send numerous emails each month to entice you into charging more with Care Credit and use gambling tactics so you can "win", "win", "win" something "free." Reputable companies do not use tactics like this.

I've had the Synchrony Care Credit card a while for my kids braces and such. However, the past few years after paying them off, I didn't have a need to use it. They upgraded my regular Care Credit account to their rewards MasterCard not long ago, then, I noticed something weird. My credit score was fluctuating drastically even though I wasn't using credit and I couldn't figure out why. I checked my credit and saw it was because of something Synchrony Bank was doing (Care Credit). They would increase my limit, then lower the limit, up and down like a seesaw. They were doing this just because I wouldn't use their card and because I have other cards with much higher limits that I don't use. 'They're punishing me because I won't use their piece of crap high interest credit card.' Avoid Synchrony credit cards at all costs unless you absolutely have no other alternative with your health.

No relief for Covid!
October 21, 2020

Contrary to what Carecredit has on their website, they are not offering any assistance with Covid beyond deferring a payment for a month. No interest assistance or offer with promotions, nothing. Their call centers are not even out of the US in the middle of the day, it is often problematic to communicate an issue with their staff.

Carecaredit wants to get you on the hook for any amount of cash and charge you crazy interest for years.

Avoid at all costs.

I used a six month promotional period to take care of a dental procedure. I paid the amount off before the deadline and was charged 0 interest on the purchase. They are legitimate, but will take advantage of you if you are not attentive.

Here are the specifics:
They ultimately rely on deferred interest to make money. This means, when you use it for a promotional purchase, if you are late on any payments or fail to completely pay it off, you will be charged a high interest percentage on the principle amount.

Autopay: Is a sham. If there are any issues with it, that causes you to be late on a payment, they will charge you the deferred interest amount. Don't use it. Instead make sure to manually pay.

Paying Your Bill: The easiest way is adding a bank account, logging in once a month and paying it manually. People have reported issues with payments going to the cards full balance rather than the promotional amount. This is because the default is set to pay the card amount off. You have to manually choose what promotional period you want to pay, in order to ensure money is added towards that account. And do the math. Never just pay the minimum. Figure out how much your need to pay each month so that the whole amount is fully paid off.

Don't use this, if you are not responsible enough for it. There are no Grace periods, one mistake will cost you a lot of money. Lastly keep all the records, and I recommend removing your bank account information when you are done paying it off.

We opened an account when my wife needed to have some dental work done, and the dental office said to use CareCredit. I really wish I'd just borrowed the money from family. It's been nothing but a headache dealing with them. The only way you can make a payment is with a checking account, and any attempt to use an alternate method (debit, HSA) is a migraine-inducing hassle. Customer service is complete sh*t and not helpful at all, the people you talk to when you call couldn't care less about anything, and the standard reply is, "Sorry, that's not company policy." Run away from this card!

Account closed
September 23, 2020

Syncrony bank is ridiculous because if you own money on real estate or other credit card they will close you down, you have to have a real low amount on other credit cards in order for them not to close your account. I've never been late with them or with any of my other accounts but they still closed my account. This is not fair. I've always made sure never to be late and have other accounts that have been closed in the past as well because I owe other credit card. No one has a high credit score in this part of the state and everyone owes money on all their accounts especially because of this pandemic. Now that i need them they fail me.

Predatory lending
September 18, 2020

Absolutely horrible company. The Animal Medical Center "mistakenly" entered 24 months for 26 APR (more than my current credit card), and not the 6 month interest fee I requested. I called both AMC and care credit, neither would give me a credit for the interest charged. Interest that was charged before a month. I can't tell if its neglect, apathy or scam charging, whatever the case I wont be using it again. I intend to sign up for the Wells Fargo Health Advantage Card, which others have told me is less predatory.
