I ordered on 4/28 and was shown it would be shipped in 3-4 days to my state. I never got any tracking information, but I waited a couple days longer. I tried calling but would never get through. Finally, after 15 minutes on hold, got through on 5/7 and they said my zipcode was wrong. Even though they read it to me correctly and I verified I typed it correctly. They said they caught it early on, but never contacted me. I've been away with the military for the last 3 months and will be here for the next 3 months. I was going to be home for one day on mothers day and this was to be my gift for my mother. They didn't offer me any suggestions to make it right. So I offered to pay for expedited shipping, an extra $62, on top of the platinum cover. They reassured me that it would definitely get there by end of day on 5/8. It didn't arrive until 5/10. A day too late. Their lack of communication regarding the "wrong" zip code, being okay with taking more money because of their mistake, and their lack of acknowledgement of military members is why I won't order anything else from them.
Purchased a RV cover - it took a while to come in. Website said in stock and it wasn't. Whatever I ordered it with enough time. After having it on from December to April the cover is torn to shreds. We had an extremely mild winter with very little sun, less than 2 ft of snow all winter, and hardly any wind storms. This thing is shredded like I took a knife to it. Poor poor quality. I spent $480 on it - I went for the best one they had. I called when I returned and all they will say is I can get a warranty replacement but I need to pay $95 to ship the new one. This thing is less than 6 months old. When I talked to a supervisor all he could say is "that's the best I can do - we cant control the weather". When i explained to him this thing was in the calmest winter possible he got defensive and said there is nothing else they can do.
All I wanted was a refund. I don't want a replacement I don't want another crappy cover - just a refund for the crappy item they sent me. All they can say is well we can send you another one for $95.
Absolute terrible customer service and products. STAY FAR AWAY
Product was average quality when received new and 'fit' okay, certainly not an exact fit but nothing to complain about. Fast forward, not even a year, this PWC/jetski cover is already deteriorating. As a jetski it is docked on the Florida Intracoastal on a floating dock and not in 'full' sun but of course does get some sun.
I Opened a warranty ticket with the company and based on all the information I have to provide and/or potentially even send them the old one, this is going to take at least 30 days to resolve and I'd have to imagine longer. I don't live in FL full-time so when I do fly down next month, I will have to gather 'more' information that they need. (more pictures than what I've provide, potentially a sku# or batch # located on tags (if they are even still legible, if not it's not mandatory). Perhaps they will replace it, remains to be seen. However, if it cannot last a year then not sure if a replacement will do much other than last the same time period.
The email response on what needs to be provided to get the warranty reviewed is lengthy and I'm sure many people try to take advantage of the product's warranty. But honestly, not even a year did this last and if I opt to send the product to them (at my expense) they will examine it and maybe (maybe not) opt to replace it. So, I would say the warrant is not as great as they advertise.
I cannot speak to their other products, but I would not recommend a PWC/Jetski cover if you plan to store it 'on the water' and 'outside' in the Florida sun. Perhaps it would do well in some other environment such as a garage with a cooling system!
Bought a cover lifetime Warranty for my Buick century November 2018 submitted a claim 5 weeks ago, no reply, called their 800# no human answered left message with my phone -no reply. The cover is just shredding in the wind, Not conducive for future purchases.
I Just got the box with cover delivered, spent $194.35. Opened the box pulled out bag with folded cover in it, haven't even unfolded it before noticing a 3-4" slice or tear in it! Have tried calling and was on hold for awhile, then told too leave a message. No one has returned the call. They state if sent back that ya have to pay a restocking fee, but Why, when it arrived damaged and would be no good for resale!? Still waiting on the call back. Very Disappointed!
They do everything in their power to prevent you from returning their product. And when you begin the process, they direct you to a webpage that says "under construction" (obvious stall tactic). So I called and asked about the webpage and the employee said they'd been having problems with the site for months (really?). The employee then sent me a link that took me to the UPS return label, which I printed out and placed on the car cover box for return. I sent the box back to them and waited a couple weeks but didn't hear back so I emailed them and got a reply from "Rea" who processed my return within a couple days (Thank you, Rea).
Another odd business practice I noticed was the reviews on the carcovers.com website. I started reading several and they don't even match the actual product they're listed under. Also, you will not find a negative review; only wonderful and flowery reviews with way too many superlatives. Seemed very fishy to me.
Maybe they should spend some of their profit on ethics training instead of the incessant carcovers.com commercials we are forced to see.
Easy process/coupon application.
Ordered a car cover before Christmas 2020 with a guaranteed 2 day delivery, 3 months, March 2021, later after numerous calls and emails the product FINALLY arrived. Customer Service replies, "sorry we can give you a $10 off your next purchase".
Had a problem on my invoice that I needed straightened out and called numerous times and was put on hold. No one ever picked up my call. Money was withdrawn from my account before my problem was resolved and tried to contact a sales person again and could not reach anyone by phone. I'm really upset after spending part of my morning and afternoon trying to straighten this out and still have not heard back from this company. Wish now I had never gone to their website.
I am in need of a new truck cover to protect our truck. I ordered one online with CarCovers.com. The prices were reasonable. I received the cover and took it out of the box to put on our truck. It did not fit. I looked at the invoice and the labels on the box and realized they sent the wrong one. I had to submit a request to return it. They approved the request but they want to charge me $19.12 for shipping it back. You also have only 30 days from the purchase date to get it back to them. They in turn inspect it and decides whether it is still in like new condition. If it is not, they will charge you a 30% restocking fee. I wanted to talk with them about the j$19.12. It was not my mistake. Why should I have to pay for their mistake. But, lo and behold, they will not call me back. I am finished with them forever unless I get a call back within the next 5 minutes. I'm thinking... not gonna happen. Good luck if you dare. There is no excuse for bad customer service, Covid or not.
Read the fine print on the lifetime warranty cover it is pro-rated, I had cover three years and it started ripping apart with no abuse. I filed a warranty claim and had to pay $85.00 which was almost half the price of the original purchase price. Warranty is misleading it states that cover is warranted as long as it is for the original vehicle it was purchased for but has no mention of pro-rating until you file a warranty claim. After 10 years there is no warranty so it is not really a lifetime warranty as stated
Not water proof at all cover has been on my brand new 300 for 10 days and 3 rains. Car underneath cover is very wet, makes me very concerned about my paint. You should not be allowed to advertise as water proof or even water resistant because it's not.
First off I rarely write reviews, but after my experience with Carcovers.com I felt inclined to save future individuals from wasting there time with a subpar company.
Purchased the top rated platinum car cover for 2003 BMW 330CI Convertible. Over $200.
Received after a week of order being placed. When I placed the cover on car it was obvious that it did not fit properly on the sides of vehicle. The material ended approximately 10 inches from ground. I then repackaged cover in same box and prepared to return it for the correct size. I called the phone # listed on the website. Followed prompts and was placed on hold to speak to a customer service representative. Amazingly no one answered after waiting on hold for 15 minutes. I tried again later that day. The same thing occurred. This happened on a least 5 more attempts. I then logged on to Carcovers.com and sent a email. No reply.
Eventually after a few days of trying to connect with a human being a representative
Named Rachel answered the phone. I explained my situation and was told by her that she needed photos of the cover on the car to verify it was the incorrect size. At this point I now have 6 inches of snow on top of my vehicle which is the reason I ordered the cover in the first place. I shared that information with her and she didn't to concerned. Never once did she apologize for her company for shipping the incorrect cover, or do anything to rectify the situation, other than repeat what seemed like a written paragraph of which she had memorized.
I would recommend researching other companies that sell Carcovers and read the return polices carefully.
Don't waste your hard earned money by purchasing any products from carcovers.com.
I have dealt with this company for 3 years, and I want to share my conclusions with potential buyers. This company knowingly sells you a "junk" cover with a decent warranty, (knowing that it will deteriorate or rip before the warranty is up.) They then put you through a process of pictures, etc. and send a replacement. (You pay a fee.) Within a year the cover deteriorates again, and you have to go through the process again. Finally, after you've "jumped through hoops" twice, they want you to send the cover at your expense, plus prepay for the shipping of the replacement. I now realize that this company is making money by telling lies about the cover quality. They pay very little for the covers. I'm sure they pay less than the consumer's original cost for the original plus replacements! The consumer suffers!
I purchased the platinum shield cover back in 2019 to cover my very large Tundra truck that sits outdoors 365 days a year since it is too long to fit in the garage. Well the cover started to show some "minor cracks" in the top material not the fleece lining. I contacted CS and they informed me they would take care of this matter, but had to pay the prorated fee and the S/H for the replacement (approx. $60). CS did offer to have me go to custom cover craft covers. This will require an additional "upgrade charge and lose the lifetime warranty". I opted to stay with Platinum Shield and thinking I might be able to salvage the old cover with some patch kits. I purchased 2 large patch kits and fixed the older cover. Well I received a new replacement cover from Carcovers and patch kit. I repaired the old one with the patch kit and I double covered my truck. I placed the new one underneath, the patched one and to do an experiment how long will this cover truly last even being patched. The new cover is like new right now but the older cover will need to go into the trash now after 2.5 years purely outdoor storage its gone. The replacement hopefully gives me a bit longer life. See attached pictures taken January 2021.
My initial review still holds strong in the heat the cover works great reflecting the heat it was much cooler in the cab than a grey evolution cover. Unfortunately just did not last very long. :(
The cover fits my SUV like a big potato sack. It looks like it's one size fits all manufacturing. Also they do not answer their phones and it's made in China junk.
Buy elsewhere.
I bought two covers the premium edition for my Jaguar and the standard edition for my truck. The quality of the standard edition is great, waterproof and thick. The premium edition is Walmart quality, semi water resistant, after a rain it makes my convertible top is wet. I sent it back thinking they sent me the wrong one since the standard edition was such good quality. Much to my dismay I was sent the same semi water resistant type cover. No idea why they would consider a lesser quality cover premium and charge more. If you want a quality waterproof car cover buy the standard, save money and get a better product. As I don't have time to send it back I'll park my Jag in the garage with the premium "dust cover" and move a different car outside that already has a waterproof cover.
My car cover arrived in a box that was mangled and re-taped by what looked like an eight year old. I have not opened the box and instead contacted the company via their message option on their website. I just want to know if this is how all of their merchandise looks when it arrives.
Ordered a car cover Nov 11/20 for my 2018 BMW M240xi. Wasn't told until order placed that it was out of stock. Finally arrived today (Jan 12/21). What a wait! Paid an extra $25 for brokerage and handling to Canada, but I was charged an additional $9.95 for handling when I received it. The total to be paid in tax and handling was $40.15 (CDN) plus the extra $25 US that I paid Car Covers. That's about $80+ Canadian extra that I had to pay to get it to Canada. I wish Car Covers would be upfront about likely extra charges (they tend to downplay them, yet they're an additional 20%). For Canadian shoppers - maybe look for a product in Canada instead of this company. Package was poorly packaged and arrived patched by Canada Post. (Though the product happily wasn't damaged) Due to the lateness I was promised two free towels, but only one came. I do NOT recommend this business for Canadian customers.
I bought from them because of their gaurantee. The cover was a very tight fit, 10 month later it had rotted away just like the cheap walmart covers. I submitted a claim, they asked for pictures, I sent 3 and they have been stalking ever since. I would not recommend them based on this.
Answer: It seems to be. The problem is that they do not know how to sell the product and they do NOT have a liberal return policy.
Answer: ZERO customer service! Rude and absolutely no help.
Answer: Their products are made in CHINA, and you know exactly what that means when it comes to quality,(or lack of), stay away!
Answer: I had the same problem and their Costumer service claimed their fit guarantee is not valid because of a "modification" note box at the very bottom of the checkout process. They did provide an exchange (at my cost) but the larger cover still does not fit correctly. I would not recommend them for motorcycle covers.
Answer: Sorry: www.CarCovers.com provided me with zero/no free gifts. All they wanted were additional NONSENSE fees.
Answer: Yeah looks like fleece but started to breakdown into dust on my car after only 6 months and bought their "best" cover.
