Purchased $5 magnetic Xmas weath hang, didn't work because magnet wasn't strong enough. So went to return with receipt to Canadian Tire on 130 Ave in Calgary. Would not refund money stating Xmas items had to be returned by Dec 24. Item did not work, but would not refund. Canadian Tire will lose a customer for any future business based on this interaction, doing business with Canadian is awful experience
I have always purchased the Advantage warranty. This warranty is not cheap but should be good for 5 years. On Nov 10,2022, I had a tire blowout 5 blocks from my house. Called CT service dept. after removing damaged tire at my home. They told me to bring tire in it was still under warranty. I brought tire to service desk; they told me to come back the following day to pick up new tire. When I went back next day around 3 pm to pick up tire, they changed their mind and told me the tire won't be covered under warranty because the tire was too worn out. I disagreed with him and asked for the manager, He went to talk to his manager, then he came back and said it will not be covered through warranty, even though I had two years left. The Manager never even came to talk to me. At this point I was fed up with this terrible service & I told him I am not paying for a new tire and to take that new tire off my rim and also give me my old tire back. This rude employee said he would do it right away. Within 5 min. The mechanic removed the new tire off my rim and put it in my wife's car along with the damaged tire. This was the fastest service I ever received at CT in 40 Years of going there. My argument was that the tire was not puncture on the tire tread, something damaged the wall of the tire. A year earlier I had the front tire blowout on the highway. Car was towed to Canadian tire and was repaired under warranty, and I just had to pay $30 for install. I did send pictures of damaged tire to corporate and customer service. Customer service said the picture was not good enough to resolve issue. Corporate was willing to help out to try resolve but at this point I decided never to go back to that CT store located at (2160 Rymal Road East, on Hamilton Mt. East, ON). When I first purchased that vehicle they repaired a wheel bearing, installed new tires, did alignment and also did safety certification so I could transfer ownership and they also rotated tires every year. I was a good customer for years and didn't deserve that kind of treatment. I waited a month thinking maybe they would contact me but that didn.t happen, then I decided to post my experience. GOOD BUY CANADAN TIRE!
I thought all locations charge the same but I bought new winter tires and was charged $22 per tire but the CrossRoads location charged me $40 per tire for balancing. Beware as it almost $100 difference for samecwork..
The canadian tire app had so many technical issues sometimes an order does not process but each time you try to submit it place a hold each time òn your credit card for an order that does not exist...çalls result in excuses and even opinions from staff that such actions do not violate consumer protection legislation...who would have ever guess that legal experts are employee by Canadian Tire customer service! Most often you dont have the product orderèd so holds for fictious orders seems on par with the already terrible comsumer experience
What's the point of an appointment. I had scheduled an appointment at 9 AM for a tire swap. One hour into my appointment I get a phone call saying my tires are 22 inches and require an up charge of $10 per rim and they haven't even started yet. Fair enough I said continue. Fast forward three hours later with a total bill of $206. Ouch. I love Canadian tire but I do not like spending half my day here. When I ask does it usually take three hours with an appointment for a tire swap they said no. Typically it's an hour and a half but one of their tire techs came in late. No compensation, no credit, no sorry. No more business from me. Thanks
I brought my trailblazer to put new winter tires on through a tire program, I let them install the tires, with an extra wheel alignment added on to my bill. I just had the vehicle serviced and new parts put on by my own trusted mechanic I've been dealing with for the last 8 years. The Canadian tire mechanic called me and said I need $1,300
Extra to be done.I told him No just change the tires and do the alignment. He kept our all season tires which I had to get back, he also didn't put our brake pins back on the brake calipers, which had our vehicle making screeching sounds.our experience with Canadian tire was an absolute Nightmare. Beware of these scam artists in automotive.
Had an appointment made two weeks in advance. After an hour of waiting, I went up to desk to see if it was done. Hadn't even taken it in yet!
On phone I was told an oil change with an appointment would be no more than 40 min!
Two hours later it was done! Two hours!
I was quoted over the phone that an oil change was $65. I was floored when he said it was $92.58!
What?!?!?
Not a thing extra was done to it!
I shopped around for the best price and then was charged the highest. If they had given me an honest answer to the real price I would have went else where! What a scam!
As if this wasn't all bad enough, on the drive home, there was a loud rattling sound that definitely wasn't there before! What did the mechanic do to my car?!?
I'm sure they'll deny any wrong doing and try to charge me another fortune for their mistake!
Another scam!
I don't trust this place at all now!
For time estimates, price quotes or being careful not to damage my car!
So angry!
Won't be back!
I recently bought my son a reader for his car and he looked at it and said it was not going to work. I returned it to Canadian tire today it was three days over the day due and they said they could not return it. I realize they are scammers everywhere but i had the receipt. I called customer care and they told me that any manager could over ride this and put me on hold and contacted the store manager. After a long wait on hold she returned and told me sorry I'm stuck with it. My son had passed away or i would have returned it quicker so I believe this was my fault for being a little side tracked with thinks. I was told to sell it on Kijiji. As far as I'm concerned this was totally terrible customer service and will not step foot in this store again. I was so upset i just left but plan to escalate this when i have more patients. The manager would not even come and see me the just passed the message over customer care This was today November 8 at around 12 pm at 8505 Tecumseh Rd East
I went last Friday to the Dalhousie location to buy specific winter tires that we did an extensive research on. It was the second Canadian tire we went to as the first one didn't have them and we were very adamant on those exact ones. They had them, everything was happy, we bought them and the warranty, and they even gave us a slot on Monday to get them installed. We asked if we had to pay anything and they said not until Monday. We went there for the appointment and it turns out they didn't have those tires anymore, they had sold them and wanted to "fix" the problem (quite rudely) by giving us other brand "of equal quality" which they weren't. And they can't fix it by getting the tires we were promised from another store apparently. Incredibly dissatisfied. I can only assume the warranty would have worked the same way. Never again. Costco will continue to be out go to for tires.
I took my car in for an inspection as to why it was not starting. Having not heard from them in the 4 days they had the car I called them for a status update. When I asked they informed me that it wasn't my car but someone else's and they had left a message on their phone about it. After giving the employee my phone number she informed me that they had the wrong phone number. A wrong phone number is very difficult to do since the service manager pulled up my service history to create the work order while\I was standing in front of him.
I refused their recommendations on the repairs and told them that I would be in to pick the car up. When I went to pay, the bill was twice the amount of the service I requested. When I questioned why I was told they did two inspections. I did not authorize an additional inspection and since they had the wrong phone number they certainly did not contact me to ask for permission. At that point I asked to see the service manager - he was not there, then I asked for the store manager - he was not there, and then I asked for the general manger - he was not there. The service advisor told me that someone will contact me tomorrow. I have me doubts but I hope I am wrong.
No matter how you pay for your product, if you wish to return it for any reason, they will not do so if you do not show them Identification. They do not ask for ID when you buy, nor inform you at time of purchase it would be required for a return...
It just says so on the printed bill after...
They treated me like a criminal because I tried to exchange an item without my ID. The staff at Penticton BC, Canadian Tire are very disrespectful in the execution of the identification policy. There is no excuse for being rude, condescending, and grilling a guy on why they happened not to have ID at the time. Just do the exchange or do not. No need for all that other nonsense.
Zero stars
Cant properly price their own displays then accuse customers of 'scamming' to get actual price - as on tag and on WEBSITE. Manager too lazy to walk over and resolve issue.
So happy new walmart opened 1 km away. Hopefully other customers treated like crap go somewhere else just as cheap - but better.
I had my front brakes done in Calgary I was on holidays, I came back to BC ( Fraser Valley) after less than 1 year my brakes that where done completely worn out, all new parts, way over priced was told they would only cover pads, wow $1700 gone and so are my brakes Shame on you, nothing more than crooks, thieves, and rude in Abbotsford never again, go to owner operated places instead.
I am semi retired, military veteran and have built several custom show quality vehicles in my lifetime. Yet, i was passed over for employment for at least 5 possitions, all of which i AM highly qualified for. The reason for being passed over? I am seemingly over qualified.
Spent 4 hours on the phone with this store and the head office trying to order tires that they had advertised in their flyer. The flyer price did not match the web site price, they people in the store were not able to correct the error and 4 hours laters, ended up with Wendy at the Corporate office who was very nice but directed the store to make things right. At 8 PM on the Friday night, I receive a call from the Grimsby store from someone that had no clue what the issue was about and had been told to sell me some winter tires. After spending some time with him starting back at square one, I gave up. Not worth it. Shame amazon does not install tires but fortunately there are some small tire outlets in our area that have competent staff. Good Bye Canadian Tire.
So tired of ordering online and then two days later they cancel your order because it took them so long to pull the order that someone has bought the product up. What is the use of online buying if not to reserve an item? Called manager did not return my call this has happened many times at this location so order from one t=of the other locations or better yet go elsewhere. They did away with thier customer service department so whatever help you need you have to wait in long line with everyone else
I noticed recently that Canadian Tire does not hire Retired people
Unlike Home Depot
Walmart
Costco
Rona
Lowes and many other Major Retailers
It's appears Canada Tire has an unspoken police to NOT hire Retirees or seniors
Next time your in a Canadian Tire store just look around
I noticed a while ago and now every time I go there can't miss it no Seniors or retired people working there unlike the other Major Retailers who hire retired people Canadian Tire seems not to
Just an observation and got me wondering why they have this policy or hiring decision just curious if anyone else notices this
I want to share with you all my experience of buying my beloved garbage at Canadian Tire. The individual just need to get into the store and buy it, a piece o cake. Finally you go to cashier to make and the payment, after you are free to go home and enjoy your new acquisition.
Be very careful ordering online. More then once I have placed an order online, paid for it only to be informed product not available even though it indicates on website it is available. Still waiting for my refund. Will never shop there again
THE VERDICT IS IN: So after speaking with the assistant manager at the #CanadianTire store on Saint Jacques, in Montreal, I was contacted today by the garage's service manager. She was adamant; her mechanics were consulted and there is no way they are responsible for the crack in my vehicle's oil pan.
I then asked to be transferred to the store's assistant manager whom I had spoken to last week and who had promised to call me back after looking into the matter. He basically repeated the claim that there was silicone covering the crack (of which I still have no proof), adding that the crack might be a defect, or caused by hitting something and that there was no way to verify if someone else had worked on the vehicle.
I repeated to him once again that my last 2 oil changes were made at their garage, that no oil was leaking previous to the 2nd oil change, that I drove 9000 km between the 2 oil changes... that I was guaranteed the car was in great condition (and shown a photo of the undercarriage)... and that I noticed the oil leak within a week of the 2nd oil change... well... even with these facts in hand, they "trust their mechanics" and refuse to pay the cost of the repair (their quote was for 900$).
I have seriously contemplated bringing the case to small claims court, but the cost is too high; I've already spent too much time fuming, doing research and trying to find a viable solution.
It's frustrating when you know you're right, but that you end up paying for someone else's mistake. All I have to say is CANADIAN TIRE... NEVER AGAIN.
CANADIAN TIRE? - Has anyone ever had problems with the Canadian Tire garage on rue Saint Jacques in Montreal? One of the mechanics damaged my car's oil pan while doing an oil change, and the attendant refuses to take responsibility and replace the pan. Asking 900$ to do the work. I consulted another mechanic, and he explained that Canadian Tire's mechanic forgot to replace the aluminum washer, overtightened the bolt and cracked the oil pan.
The attendant still refuses to recognize his mechanic's error. He told me to contact customer service... waiting for a response.
What recourse do I have?
Answer: Yes, all of them, no one has such a strict return policy.
