If I could give them a zero, I would. I placed another larger (over $250) bulk order and they sent my 2 items that were NOT ordered/incorrect and one of the bowls was terribly deformed! I sent emails and called and despite the fact that THEY did not properly fill my order, they want me to send back the incorrect items? For example, they sent me 5lbs of CORN STARCH instead of 5lbs of ARROWROOT powder. They want me to send it back? I have no box to put it in, their return label is not printing correctly on my computer and I have to travel 45-50 min JUST to get to a UPS location/store to drop it off! They make mistakes and send me crappy products and they want me to put in all this effort? I have already sent several emails and made several calls and the people there are USELESS. They asked me to send pictures so I did but that didn't do anything but cause me more work and time! AND, I left a message and emails for a manager to contact me to NO AVAIL! What kind of company is this? Do they work out of their garage or something? I also agree re: many of the products being crappy. Watery, etc. VERY DISSAPPOINTED! How can they NOT send me what I ORDERED and PAID for and not make it right?! I tried to load the pics here but it's not working...
I was expecting the worst after I had read the reviews (after I had already placed an order) so was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived in slightly over a week. It arrived in fine shape and as some had mentioned the smells of some of their products, I opened each item and did not notice that any smelled unusual. I will probably order from them again. Note: I ordered eight different items but in very small quantities for making homemade lotion bars for personal use.
Terrible, terrible essential oils. I believe they have extenders and diluents in them... not even two months and my lemongrass oil was rancid. Essential oils aren't supposed to get "rancid." Took the extra time to post proof of purchase because selling people crap like this is truly disrespectful, inconsiderate, and dishonest.
I bought a 7 pound bucket of refined Shea Butter. I was extremely disappointed with the quality. The texture is very grainy and gross—basically think burnt/curdled/seized chocolate. I've had the 7 pound bucket for just over 6 months (stored in my refrigerator between uses) and it's already gone rancid. After contacting customer support, I learned that because it's been more than 90 days since I received it and my specific batch shouldn't expire until a year from now (December 2022) they won't do anything about it.
Their bulk batches are severely lacking in quality control.
We attempted an order for our business, which went through on our end. We received a refund without any notice. When we did realize the issue, we reached out via phone. Unhelpful is an understatement. We asked if we can order through the phone. Nope, only through the site. We asked if we can purchase expedited shipping since we're down to the wire now with this mix up. No, that option is on our website, according to the rep we spoke with. No, there wasn't an option for fast shipping or processing when we checked. Their website also wouldn't take THREE DIFFERENT forms of payment which went through fine at other stores. Clearly the issue is on their end, but they don't seem to care one bit. So thank you kindly, Bulk Apothecary for screwing with the business that supports our family. Never again.
I ordered GEL handsanitizer and recieved 70 percent alcohol. NO GEL. I called and was told i got what I ordered and hung up on. I wrote them and emailed them getting no response. This company is only interested in your money and does not care if you are happy or not.
I am a new customer and I ordered supplies for soap making. My shipment arrived very quickly and the products are wonderful. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
I ordered some mercury glass vessels for candles.

Anyways I refused the package. When they received it back I got this email saying that it was a ups error and I had a choice of replacement, but I had to pay 15 $ shipment. Or refund or store credit. Who would do that to a customer? I asked for a refund,
Bulk apothecary is honestly an abysmal joke of a company. Expensive items, along with expensive shipping that they take zero responsibility for. I used this company for an entire year, with minimal issue. But, now, they have just dropped all pretense of caring about good business. My last order was stuck in Ohio for an entire 2 weeks before, I had to call them to find out the issue. They immediately reshipped the items--fine. This most recent order, they used UPS without a REQUIRED signature--who ships to NYC and doesn't require a signature for delivery? And, then, when I saw that the products were marked as delivered, but, not delivered to me, I called Bulk Apothecary. This is where the drama begins. They will not refund, or reship my items until UPS does an investigation on the missing shipment. Never mind my company is now going to have an issue with delivering products, never mind I'm a long-term customer, never mind I actually paid for the shipment in the first place! They refuse to take any responsibility that NO ONE clicked the "signature required" button on the original shipping order. I've filed a complaint with the Ohio BBB. And, upon doing so, found they have 135 complaints registered. DO NOT BUY from these people. I'm a believer in small businesses, but, not greedy businesses whether they are large or small.
I was excited to shop at Bulk Apothecary. I first ordered oil and over 25 pounds of Shea Butter. I was happy as a new customer... Until I ordered $60. Worth of Candles. They advertised "Very Strong Woodsy Scent." Upon opening up one box. I smelled Nothing. The packaging was beautiful, with 3 wicks and a beautiful top. Ready to be labeled and sold. I called and spoke to Bridgette on 9-9-21. At first, she was pleasant, but when I told her that the candles had No Scent. She switched to a full blown Nasty attitude. I said "I can't label and resell a candle with no scent. She said "Well, you're in your 30 days to send it back". She then said "We don't provide labels for returns, you'll have to pay for that on your own". I said "But you sent me candles with No Scent, how is this my fault?" She said "It's just our policy" You are responsible for your own returns and we will refund you, less shipping" So I have to pay for the shipping twice for a defective product. With a terrible attitude she said "That's just our policy'". After considering I woul be out of over $40.00 with No product, if I sent the candles back. I decided to keep them and use them for ambiance at an event. They Should Not Advertise What They Clearly Do Not Have!
I placed an order for essential oils. The order confirmation and delivery date emails followed quickly as expected. The delivery of my order did not happen.
Emailing customer service, I was informed that the delivery service was in error. That information did not help. I was advised to wait, which I did.
After 18 days I emailed customer service again. The response was basically, "We have not resolved the claim with the delivery service."
This was still not my problem, and I still hadn't received the goods I paid for. I politely requested a refund.
The following week I also politely requested a refund. Another week later I requested a refund.
Two months, no delivery, no refund and a rather unprofessional handling of the matter.
I did ultimately receive a refund. I think this issue was handled very poorly. I guarantee this company lost a good customer and a positive review.
This rating is a ZERO, but I am forced to leave at least one star or I cannot leave a review. ****I placed an order. It arrived with several oils that leaked. I asked for the leaked oils to be returned. I would have asked for an exchange but the oils that were leaked I opened to see how much leaked out and was told I had to take a picture of the inside of the bottle. The oils did NOT smell as they should have, the color was much darker than it should have been and the consistency was not as it should have been. I'm sure the oils were old and rancid. The oils that were opened were cut with a much cheaper sticky oil, like a cheap vegetable cooking oil. The refund process is not up to a reputable company standards and a True customer-based business. The return service was so poor, the employees so UNprofessional and the training level so low that I had to dispute the order charge on my CC to get proper customer service. Frankly, I am not sure how or why this company is still in business. The BBB rating is rock bottom. There have been complaints with the FCC for banking fraud, Glassdoor which rates a company to work for by its employees is also rock bottom. Be warned! This company's products and customer service are horrible. Returns are a joke and non-existence and you will be cheated either in getting your money back or being lied to and told you did not return all the oils when you know you did. This company will steal your money based on lies and fraud. Their business practices are unethical, and have fraudulent billing and return practices. Oh, and many of their products "CLAIM" on their website to be in glass bottles when they are in plastic. Essential oils should never be in plastic bottles! Be warned! I read their company's mission-type statement as to how they treat their customers as their employees like to be treated, then I read what their employees say about working for that company. This company is a scam and commits fraud.
I purchased Bulk Apothecary's 1 Gallon unscented massage lotion & the premium massage lotion. Both were a total disappointment. Both products are Water Based and if you add oil, you'll just notice the oil floating on top. The lotion dries very quickly, so if you apply the lotion within 20 seconds it dries completely. I've definitely used better. As for the Ratings for this product - Wish I checked before I purchased. All the reviews are from 2016 - 2019... and here we are at 2021.
I place my order and everything was perfect, I got it in a week, the product packed perfectly, the bath bombs smell amazingly good. I ordered some samples to know the product and I am very happy with the super fast shipping, also they sent confirmation to my email with all the details of the purchase. Everything flowed perfectly. I recommend it and will buy from them again.
They always connect you with a phone number that goes to voicemail all the time. They are rude if ever you get someone on the phone. The product quality varies depending on when you ordered it
I have spent a lot of money with this company and never again will I use them. Very disappointed the photo on the site shows the product then in the fine fie it says the wood wick hold is not included. So I have hundreds without holders. If I knew it wasn't included I would have bought but when I called the CSR treated me like an idiot.
They did not have an item in stock and sold me lesser qualities over priced. But the worst was to charge me as much as my order for shipping and then it took a week to get it instead of 2 days. I called them and they could have warned me. And then I waited 2 days to get a call from a supervisor which never happened. They suck, there is a black lady that gets bombarded with most of the calls it seems like and has no power to fix things. Never again, they suck Buy somewhere else.
The jars and lids ordered didn't fit properly. I ordered a 64 of bottle of caramel apple lotion and it was very watery with very little smell. The jars are very thin plastic and look and feel cheap. I will never order from this company again!
Can't believe I'm doing this but this company is a big SCAM. They will not only take your money and LIE to you by telling you that its fast shipping but they also charge high shipping fees and don't let customers know that they will be import fees! So after waiting patiently for my order I'm also paying MORE in shipping that the actual cost of the item. It'll be nice if they could just BE HONEST on the website stating that they're out of stock indeed they LIEE and use your money to purchase The items.
