Be aware of the items you order. They decide what items are returnable but they don't tell you this at the time of purchase. In my case I ordered a replacement part for my refrigerator. It turned out to be the wrong part and they say it cannot be returned because it is an "appliance". They say they can't accept returns for that manufacturer when the part came from their warehouse not the manufacturers. When I asked where on the ordering page it said this was an appliance or a non returnable item they had no response. Any company that does not accept returns with no questions asked is not a company that you should do business with!
We've been doing many home renovations and also new construction. We've ordered chandeliers, bathroom lights, fans and accessories, door knobs, large ceiling fans. All the products came in fast and with the quality we had hoped for.
Ordered product and it arrived on time. Transaction complete. End of interactions. Emails start arriving in my inbox on a regular basis. UNSUBSCRIBED NUMEROUS times on the emails. Actually called them last week and spoke to someone who claimed he knew what he was doing. Another email this morning.
Next time I need lights or anything else for a trade show... I WILL SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE! When people ask to be REMOVED, they should only have to ask ONCE! Not 10 times and plead with a phone call.
It was easy to find and order the parts I needed. Build.com is user friendly and made the process simple and easy to complete. My order arrived quickly and correctly.
The vendor had included the same schematic for the two different tubs offered. Build helped out with by sending the correct tub and issuing full credit for the returned tub.
The customer service was excellent! I ordered online and received a call from the representative a couple days later to confirm the order. I will buy from Build.com again, as well as, recommended the company.
I purchased a cast iron kitchen sink which came with some defects in the finish and needed to be returned for a new sink. The local delivery company which delivered the sink missed not only the first scheduled delivery, but also a second delivery needing to set up a third date. Very annoying when you schedule to be home for a day and no one shows, twice. When I needed to return the first sink for a second I explained the poor performance of the delivery company, Build.com not only arranged a change of sinks for me but also changed to a different local delivery company. Everything went smoothly and the new sink is great. I can't thank Build.com enough for their professionalism.

I have purchased several items over the years with build.com, including bathroom lighting, faucet fixtures, bathroom accessories and ceiling fans. Everything I bought was of good quality. I had two instances that I needed the help of customer service. Both times the representatives were not only courteous and prompt in returning calls and emails, they exceeded my expectations in solving my problems. The most recent purcase was a ceiling fan that was described as having a light kit that used candelabra base bulbs. The ceiling fan that the manufacturer shipped to me was the same model, but they had since replaced the candelabra bulbs with a new design that had an integrated LED panel, which I did not want. I contacted customer service, and I received a call back right away. My representative contacted the manufacturer immediately to begin the return process, and he helped me find a replacement ceiling fan. I was able to ship the other one back free of charge. I highly recommend buying from build.com, and I will definitely do so myself the next time I need to upgrade a fixture in my home.
We ordered a jaccuzzi bathtub and the template for the drop-in template for the tub was not included with the shipment. I emailed and the build.com costumer service got the jaccuzzi company to overnight the template within a few hours of my email - they persisted after the jaccuzzi company initially tried to brush it off. Truly excellent service. Also, they answered all the questions we had about the various types of jaccuzzi bathtubs before we ordered. It was a very positive experience.
I ordered a bathtub headrest and it was delivered within a week in great condition. This is the second item I ordered from them. The first item was a Jacuzzi bathtub 5 years ago and it arrived within a week also in great condition.
I ordered knobs and 2 rosettes and had no problems getting them in a timely manner and they were exactly as described. I have ordered cabinet pulls and a light from this company and have not had any problems with the items I received.
I recently purchased a bathroom sink with stainless console and saved over $500.00 from what my local plumbing supply house wanted for the same sink. And it was delivered within days. Also bought $700+ of cabinet hardware. Good prices on the hardware which was not available at any local stores, and my order was delivered in days. My experience with Build has always been positive.

I bought a microwave. Shipping was delayed 3 times. Once received- I called to request a return and was told no refunds are accepted with ANY appliances. The policy is buried in their site. This company should not be allowed to be in business!
This is my second purchase and if it goes as smooth as the first, I'll be very happy. I am currently rehabbing two homes in Arizona and basically most of my needs can be met through Build.com
I ordered Flat Pebble Tile for shower floor and contrast wall. It cost much less than I found anywhere else. Shipping was expedient. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Let me start by saying that i never write reviews... until now. We purchased two gold pendant lights from this company. They shipped us one silver and one clear. I called and they were very gracious and apologized. They said that they would issue us a credit and send the gold. They asked us to send pictures of the lights before sending us a return mail label. We did that, and then they asked us to send the pictures again. Which we did. They sent us the return label and we mailed back the lights. It has been a month and we still haven't received our refund. That keep saying they will send it out but haven't done so.
In the meantime, they only sent us one replacement light ( not two as we ordered), and it was silver not gold. So once again we are going through the process of trying to return the light and are running into the same road blocks.
We are owner building a barndominium in Tennessee. This vendor is AWESOME SAUCE! Their reps are excellent, resourceful and gets you the best price.
We had a defective fan and before I could finish saying what was wrong the re said no problem get you a new one coming and pick up label being emailed.
We will now get our electric final! Tried to upload pics but site would not allow me too.

Purchased a replacement Kichler globe from (via) Build. Unfortunately, it came w/ some construction flaws. Reported this to Build and they had a replacement for the replacement sent out immediately without any concern/picture proof. Extremely accommodating. The replacement was defective as well. I reported it and Build had another sent, all at no additional charge to me. Unfortunately, the 2nd replacement (#3 overall) was worse than the first. At this point, I have given up trying to get a replacement globe of the same quality as our original 6 lights. Used the first one sent but it is hanging somewhat precariously. Expect problem is w/ Kichler. Build has been very customer service oriented.
Placed an order to be shipped to a family member. Simple, right? Not with this retailer!
Long/short, refused to ship order unless I provided a document connecting me to the recipient. $100 worth of specialty lightbulbs, and claimed their internal fraud team needed evidence of relationship!
All they're doing is collecting names, addresses, phone numbers and credit card info to be used for?... in my opinion.
The also complained that I didn't sign up as a customer and checked out as a guest instead!
Many other places to shop. Shame on you Build.com!

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
