I was online, searching for the phone number for a local theater in Seattle. All I wanted to find out is if I could park near the box office while I purchased tickets in person. An 888 number for this company was what showed. I ended up calling two times with two different phones. Each time when the agents found out I wanted to buy in person, they hung up. I called back only to hear one ring and the call was disconnected. They had apparently blocked our phone numbers. The second agent was particularly rude and gave false information, saying that no one would be at the box office, that buying in person is a thing of the past. Still wanting tickets for a January performance and thinking that the theater website had not been updated, we asked a family member to call with their cell phone. That agent first gave a price over $1,000 - for tickets we could purchase through Ticketmaster for $525. Since there was hesitation in agreeing to the purchase, they said they'd "waive" the fees. In the end, even with "waiving'" fees, they wanted to charge twice as much for the tickets as if we'd paid Ticketmaster. Being skeptical that we had actually purchased the tickets we wanted, I looked again for information for the theater and found a 206 area code for their box office. Their outgoing message states that tickets may be purchased online through Ticketmaster or IN PERSON at the box office! They only add a $5/ticket facility fee.
Take away tips for buying tickets to any of the 4 Seattle Theater Group theaters:
- Look at the website for Seattle Theater Group (STG)
- Tickets CAN BE purchased at the box office.
- Be wary of third party vendors when the agent keeps changing the price.
- Even though Ticketmaster charges high fees, if you cannot go to the box office in person, at least they are a legitimate, honest business and you know you will get your tickets.
BOTTOM LINE: AVOID ALL DEALINGS WITHBOXOFFICETICKET SALES.com
On September 9,2025, I made an online purchase of two tickets for the National Theater (Washington, DC) presentation of Mark Twain Tonight. The tickets arrived electronically via Ticketmaster, for adjacent seats A7 and A9. One of the tickets (seat A7) was legitimate; the other was for a seat that did not exist – A9! The theater was unable to provide satisfactory seating for this sold-out performance. When I contacted Box Office Ticket Sales for a refund, they suggested I get proof from the venue and forward it to them. In other words, they sold to me a fake ticket – I called them on it – and they said, "prove it".
Ordered 2 tickets for a Venue in Lawrenceburg, IN for 09/20/2025, tickets were over priced then I never received the tickets. Email I received advised the tickets would be sent 48 hours prior to the event. I checked with the event ticket office only to be advised that they have no dealings with Box Office Ticket Sales. So to summarize I was ripped off for $356.00.
Talking to a representative when I tried purchasing tickets for Arizona diamondbacks tickets, I thought I was talking with the box office for the team, obviously I was wrong. There prices are higher than any other outlet. I can go on Ticketmaster and save $300 from what you charged me. I know I should've looked into it more but obviously I didn't. I would make sure when people order off them get all the facts. They try to push their sales pretty quick before you can look at other links. Just make sure you look at other links for you buy from these guys. They're very pricey.
I purchased two tickets for Balcony Right Center seating for a play, but when I got the tickets, they were in the Upper Balcony Right Center — a completely different (and much worse) section. When I reached out, the company acknowledged their mistake via email, but refused to issue a refund or offer any real compensation.
This is unacceptable. They sold me one thing, delivered another, and then refused to take responsibility where it matters — my money.
If you value honesty and customer service, do not trust this website. Mistakes happen, but how a company handles them shows their true colors — and this one clearly doesn't care once they have your money.
They will drain your bank account with exorbitant fees. They charge me 5x the value of the tickets and charged a $75 service fee and charged a $10 shipping and handling fee to email my tickets. If I had bought my tickets through the regular venue it was $50. They charged $330. I thought I was using the venues box office. The way they advertise makes you think you are doing it that way and are misdirected to them.
Do not recommend this company. I googled Red Sox box office and called the number listed. I purchased what I thought were 2 tickets from the Red Sox box office. However, at the end of the call after the agent rattled off a spiel that I could barely understand and made me say yes to, I asked if this was the actual Red Sox box office. I was told no it wasn't. I was then told I would not get my tickets until 48 hours prior to the game. I explained to the agent this was not acceptable as my husband would be coming from Buffalo to Boston and would have to reserve a hotel room as well as purchase a plane ticket for my husband and his friend. It was a birthday gift. I did not want to incur those costs unless I had tickets in hand. We have purchased tickets prior from Red Sox and always received them immediately via email. I was told too bad for me. I already said yes, too late to cancel no refunds. And the agent hung up on me. I called back five minutes later. Spoke to another agent. And again tried to cancel these tickets. Another agent told me too bad for me. They had me on tape saying yes to purchasing the tickets and they would not do anything about it. I called the real Red Sox box office 5 minutes later and purchased 2 tickets which were sent to my email immediately. I am disputing this with my credit card company.
They charge 35.5% of the total amount in fees. I had to pay $1000 in fees. This seems like a scam. I called and they won't refund the money or cancel the tickets. They lied about 35% being a typical charge for fees. It's not. I actually called them by mistake thinking it was the stadium box office. Misleading, lying, and deceitful seem to describe their business model.
A ticket that coat 10 dollars they charged $60. Total scam then don't give your money back either! Don't buy from them this is total scam! Just take your money
Do not use! I went to the radio city music hall station to buy Hugh Hackman tickets, bought two. Did NOT know that I was using a company called Box Office Ticket Sales. Later looked and found out the tickets I bought were 70% more than all other tickets still on the site. I ended up having to sell the tickets because my aunt who I was taking was sick. The Company would not turn on the resell ability - I got stuck with both tickets going unused. I have reached out to the customer service team over 10 times, no response. Do not use! Scam!
This company is nothing but a SCAM! I can't even give a star rating for boxoffice ticket sales. We purchased tickets for a show on 01/24/25. Original email stated tickets to be delivered. Then another email stated they would be at will call at the venue. Called the venue to verify and was told they do not have will call for outside ticket vendors. Contacted boxoffice ticketsales and through their chat, (AI) was guaranteed the tickets would be there. Got to the venue and guess what? No tickets were there. This morning there was an email from 709 last night saying the tickets were in the name of I guess the person who originally bought the tickets. WHAT? The phone number provided in the email is no good and the AI chat said to provide proof from the venue that our tickets were not there. We have filed a complaint with the fraud department of our credit card company and the card has been cancelled. A complaint will be filed with the states attorney of the state of Florida and the IRS will also be contacted.
This company hold themselves out to be the "box office" for the Phillies. Completely misled me. There was no consideration for my immediate request to cancel a transaction seconds after I realized they were not the Phillies Box Office.
They charged me $1463.95 for 10 tickets to take children to the ballpark. I could have bought better seats for $870. Parking was $40 per car when the stadium box office charges $27 per car.
A complete and total rip off. The name "Box Office" popped up while looking at the MLB site for Phillies Citizens Park stadium seats so it was definitely confusing and I expected they were the authorized agents for the stadium.
There is currently a pending legislation in the PA Senate to make this offense punishable by a $1000 fine per ticket. I hope it passes!
I got on the phone after a long wait and the gentleman asked what show i was interested in buying tickets for. While he looked them.uo I proceeded to ask a question to which he replied, the ticket are 100 dollars would you like to buy them now. I said that was kind of rude. He said if I don't want tixkets he needs to free up the line. I simply said you ignored my questio. To which he repeated his question. Bye. This is 2025 service. Sad but it will come back to this company and many others.
When you search for Dr Phillips performing arts center tickets sales on Google, the first link to that title is actually the "boxofficeticketsale" and you had to have noticed the url that it went to. They misrepresented themselves and then charged my 477 dollars for 2 tickets that should have been 70 dollars. When I called them back to cancel they got ugly and tried blaming me for being stupid enough to give them my card details and would not refund my money. All the federal, state, county, and city offices are closed today but I will be contacting them all tomorrow. This is a scam! I'm going to post this scam all over social media to expose this company!
One star is too many. I called and asked about 2 tickets. Told him the event and actual row I wanted. First, he said he gave me incorrect info on where the row was. I corrected him. Second, his prices were ridiculous. Third, he pushes hard and quicker than a bad car-salesman. Forth, and why I am writing this...Asked if these would do it for me and I replied "Well, no because---" He hung up. I called back and got him and said so that's what you do? And he said "will you didn't want our tickets so I going to do it again." And did. Now I seem to be BLOCKED! Their message states that the won't tolerate any disrespect. They need to add that they will disrespect any caller that doesn't immediately say he will buy the tickets. Hope you read this...if you didn't hang up on me the first time, I may have got tickets for different seats.
Purchased tickets in April 2024 for a concert in October 2024. Got to the gate and the venue scanned my "tickets" and let me know they were invalid and already used! I called BoxOffice Ticket sales and they apologized for this and said they are a third party and do not actually sell the tickets? No refund for me and didn't get to see the concert after driving an hour there. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I should have known better.
This company is a scam and the owner is a con artist. The company will pose as the direct venue website. The venue didn't accept their tickets, as they were not a direct purchase from the real companies website. When I called the fraudulent company "box office sales", the man who answered said the same speech I'm certain he says a million times a day "I'm a broker from Miami" and hung up the call immediately before I could speak. Con artist. Scammer. I have since disputed the charge on my credit card and filed a BBB complaint.
Bought tickets to a vegas show got to venue no tickets transferred and venue had no record of tickets. This is a total scam beware
If I could give the zero, I would. I thought I was calling the box office at the venue. The man who answered was very helpful, explained the seating and suggested 4 great seats. They charged my Amex and sent a confirmation e-mail stating that the tickets would be e-mailed 48 hours in advance. There was absolutely NO suggestion that we would NOT get the tickets. When I called 48 hours ahead, they advised tickets were delayed and would be there in 24 hours. Then they advised they would be there at 7am the day of the show. Then they advised we would get them by 1:00pm. Then they sent an e-mail stating: sorry, no tickets! What a dishonest, disgusting business. We had transportation plans, dinner plans, and were so looking forward to this show! Of course, it was way too late to get tickets! They NEVER said MAYBE we purchased tickets! We did get our money back BUT this place should be OUT OF BUSINESS!
This is what they sent:

I know there are a multitude of bad reviews out there but I want to make sure there is an updated platform for more current discussion. DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM HERE. I purchased Chris Young tickets for my mom as a Mother's Day gift…. I paid an obscene amount for platinum seating as she cannot stand for that long for the general admission. I knew they were overpriced but they were sold out through the venue so I didn't care about the price. I do not know why I didn't look at reviews first, it was my mistake, I never would have imagined this fiasco. I purchased the tickets in January and the website said the seller was expected to transfer tickets on 5/3 which was the day before the concert. At 8pm the night before, I started to panic as the concert was 3 hours away and we had a hotel room booked and everything. When I called, they told me the seller has until midnight. So I waited. Still no transfer. We called back at 8 am and they told us that the seller was from cali so the time change was 3 hours behind, they asked that we wait until 2pm we did and told us that they will do an emergency report to contact the seller and they guarantee we will get our tickets. We left and drove 3 hours to the hotel. We called Box Office Tickets back at 2pm just to hear "we are so sorry we cannot get the platinum tickets but we can get you general admission tickets". They offered us these two GA tickets for 180 dollars. When I checked the website for the venue, they still had GA tickets for sale for 50 bucks a piece. We basically told them to give us our money back and we will get our tickets somewhere else. They said they will refund us but we will see how that actually goes down. This whole thing has been an absolute mess for my mom and I. Thankfully, I was able to acquire tickets for standing room only and this whole trip wasn't a waste. If the tickets were sold out, we would have been screwed. I hope that no one ever has to go through what we did. Do not buy tickets through these people. They give you the run around and there is no way to ensure you'll get tickets because they do not have "deadline" until the day of the event.
Answer: I haven't received a refund for tickets I bought for my 5 year old to see Jojo siwa in 2019 and told me I don't use the money within a year towards something else I loose it. I didn't get that until 2021 March and they still were limiting and canceling things cause of COVID. Worst place ever
Answer: Scam They lie You will never see your money again.
