I just received an order and all but one of the items did not fit properly. I spent 20 minutes trying to get through your automated system, trying to figure out how to exchange for other sizes. When I was finally able to speak to a human being, his English was really bad. He couldn't understand me any better than I could understand him. It was quite frustrating. And then two of the items I was wanting to exchange were completely out of stock so I could only exchange one of the items. I know lots of companies outsource their Customer Service to foreign countries. But if you really care about your customers, you would want them to feel appreciated and understood by your customer service agents. Please do better.
I used to buy a lot of things from Boston proper and loved them. Lately it seems that items I'm getting are low quality materials & poorly made and just not what they used to be. Also, with so many companies not charging for returns you would think that Boston proper would do the same. Honestly, they are the last company I go to buy anything anymore.
I purchased a dress on a great sale price. It ran small so I needed to exchange it. When I tried, it showed the next size unavailable for the free exchange. When I went on the regular site, it was available however $40 more. Customer Service said they could not help meet the lower price. I refuse to pay $40 more when it should have been an even exchange.
I am a long time regular customer of BP, love the variety and quality of their clothing. I recently had some questions about a product detail description related to Size and Fit of a 2 piece outfit where the length of the top and the length of the pants seemed incorrect so I called and got a very helpful customer service person - he agreed that the length of each outfit piece was likely switched and printed incorrectly (e.g. The top was listed as 30" long but it was a crop top, and the pants were listed as 21.5 inches long but these were long to the floor on the model in the photo). He was able to obtain the correct lengths and I was able to place my order with confidence. He also indicated he would pass along this request to correct the length information to the product are for correcting the outfit information.
Thankful for the customer service person who was very pleasant and helpful.
I bought a beautiful dress from Boston Proper and wore it to a wedding. During the wedding the zipper broke. I was sewn back into the dress by some very nice, helpful staff at the wedding. That night, I had to turn the dress around so the sewn part was in the front and then cut it off of me. After 4 emails and 4 phone calls recounting my embarrassing incident BP told me they would not support me in any way since my 30 day window had passed, the dress was worn and not in its original packaging. I am extremely disappointed in BP for not standing behind the quality of their dress. I will never buy another item from them and warn everyone not to patronize BP. POOR QUALITY. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I tried to speak with CUSTOMER SERVICE and they are very misleading with some of their promo codes. I hadn't received an item and they are fighting me with it Still have not received an item, but yet I got charged through my charge card
I have shopped off and on on Bostonproper.com for a few years now. They have a very unique selection of fashion. The general feel when you look at the catalogue, with their more mature models, is that it is for 'stepford wives' or 'Beverly Hills housewives', we are talking a lot of exotic prints, inappropriate amount of cleavage, tight-fitting tops etc. It is definitely for 'ladies who lunch', because you would be hard pressed to find anything that is office appropriate in there. A lot of the styles would not look out of place on a 20 year old going clubbing, but would look a bit strange on a 40 year old, like they are trying too hard to look young. Unfortunately, with their pricing and models, I think that is the age group they are targeting.
That said, for a younger clientale, they sometimes have really cute outfits and stylish clothes and their quality and cutting are generally good. The clothes are well made and don't fall apart after a few washes. Once in a while there are inconsistencies in the sizing, but overall they fit fabulously.
They are however more pricey than the regular clothing shops and they seldom have sales and also their shipping charges are extortionate, they start off at $6.95 for purchases up to $25, which is ridiculous, because if you look at how much they charge for their clothes, nobody's shopping cart will be in that category. So if you buy just a couple of stuff, your shipping charges can very easily reach $17-18, which is outrageous given how light the clothes usually are. And if you need to return the items, that is another $7 taken out of your account! With the premium they charge on their clothes, I think it is really outrageous to gouge you on the shipping as well! And that is just for standard ground shipping. My clothes usually take up to 2 weeks to arrive.
Overall I do like a lot of their designs, but would only buy during sales or if something just it a 'must have' for a special occasion, guess I am not in the income level of their targeted clientale haha.
