I learned the VERY hard way to research your shipping costs with this company. Import to Canada from US is always nasty, but a $1000. 00 item I purchased on eBay ended up costing me an additional $500.00 Cdn just for shipping to Toronto. That is absolutely unacceptable and I would have abandoned the purchase if I had realized the total cost to get the package to Toronto would approach $1000. 00 with duty, tax shipping and insurance (mandatory) Yikes.
To be fair, they do have a shipping calculator that will give the outrageous price before committing, so buyer beware. I would say this service is a last resort when there is no way to get something from one country to another.

Dear Aidan, Many of our customers are unaware that the package size that we receive will affect the shipping cost and is directly proportional. We use DHL express and rates are charged accordingly for prompt and reliable services rendered.

My Package
October 11, 2016

I ordered a musical instrument from AMAZON to be shipped to Saudi Arabia via Borderlinx. The shipment delivered to Dayton, OH, US signed and received by: WEINERT.on 6th, of October 2016. Till date I do not received my package. I keep calling and following no one answer. What is this?

I already pay for the postage to my country, and then a few moments later they suspended my account. What the hell is this? Does this include the latest promo borderlinx?

After that I contacted customer service, they said please send ID Card, proof of address (billing electricity/water), and CC to team security. I have already submitted Everything to the Security Team, but it's been a week I wait and no replies to anything from them, I got my account is in suspend, the goods are not delivered, and they took my money! All are in good service mean? THIS DESERVES MORE CALLED FRAUD!

If there's still good intentions to reactivate my account and send me? I expect good faith you guys to enable my account back and send my stuff ASAP!

TERRIBLE PAINFUL EXPERIENCE

BORDERLINX LOST ONE OF MY PARCELS. NOW THEY HAVE FOUND IT.AS THE OTHER PART OF MY SHIPMENT WAS DISPATCHED EARLIER I HAVE ALREADY PAID THE SHIPPING COST AND EXPRESS DELIVERY CHARGES AND THE INSURANCE. NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY ALL THESE EXPENSES AGAIN FOR THIS LOST AND FOUND PARCEL. I HAVE BEEN WRITING TO THEM TO RESOLVE THE MATTER.ITS BEEN A MONTH NOW. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CASUAL APPROACH.

I had a parcel to be delivered in the German address and was nobody to receive it! It passed around 2 weeks and since I have no news I contacted the seller who confirmed that they tried to deliver. Now Borderlinx want I call the courier to find out my parcel and solve their mistake. But they not acknowledge the time spent or the cost to call Germany from Australia! Or the language issues. The costumer service is awful. They sent an email saying that the had my parcel but it was not true! They say also they wont refund since the parcel was not delivered but it was their fault in first place. Nobody say sorry for the mistake or the time lost. And my money is still lost.

Firstly, like to apologize for the returned package. At Borderlinx, our priority is to provide you with a smooth and prompt service. And we understand your disappointment due to this unfortunate incident. Support team must have clarified that our hub works Monday-Friday and from 9am-5pm. All shipments coming in will be accepted without any prejudice.

The only reason wherein a shipment will be rejected by the warehouse team is when-

- Courier is asking for additional charges on delivery. Sometimes its pending local tax not paid, or duty/tax for shipments coming to the hub from another courtry. In such situations, we cannot pay and receive the items.

- The package is visibly damaged from outside and which will be then refused.

There is no othe reason why a package will be refused. And our warehouse will be closed only on weekend and bank holidays. Unfortunately, we cannot assist should the courier attempts delivery on one of such holiday.

Regret the inconvenience caused.

I ordered from a supplier in the UK. Since I am outside the UK, I had to pay VAT which the supplier stated would be refunded once the shipper sends him a stated document. I selected to use UK borderlinx to have my goods shipped as I thought it would cost cheaper.
I received the goods. I contacted Borderlinx to forward the proper documentation to my supplier(who very willingly called and mailed Borderlinx) but Borderlinx didn't do needful(4 months gone by) and still no follow up. I paid an additional 62 gbp on my goods which I could have not paid if I would have shipped the goods directly from the supplier.
What a waste of money & time because of Borderlinx!
I would not recommend other business related persons to use Borderlinx!

I mean I dont even know where to start. I ordered a book like 3 weeks ago on the 16th aug. 2016 to the UKadress and it arrived on the 19th august. Then nothing happened...
On the 26th I was wondering why i still got no goods awaiting. So it took 1 day and 3 employee to figure out where my order was. They made a mistake/forget about it but it was allways been here. I told them it was a present wich i needed till the 31th August. They replied that they put it by the first workday in my suite so i can release it on the 29th and it still made it till the 31th. They didnt mention their mistake once again. I didnt get any refunds, which i was ok with. So on the 29th i was waiting waiting waiting... nothing happened. So i contaced them again. They told me to wait and I cant do anything. She seems to be very annoyed by me. So on the next day the 30th it finally made it to my Shipment to release. After I klicked on it I was schocked! They charge me 28 for an book?!? So i told them i wont buy this book if its so expensive. It didnt even make it till the 31th. Then they try (how i felt) to frigtend me bout their returing policy and i have to pay 30pfund plus 15pfund and so on. So shipping to me cost 28 and shipping back to the seller 50+?! So I just payed it and let me tell you. For me they are unreliable and I will N E V E R use Borderlinx again! Excuse my negative attitude I never ad witness something like this in my entire life. I hope this review can help you guys. Not recomented isnt even close to what Im thinking of.

Borderlinx failed to deliver my aftershave and cologne because there dangerous they did not disclose this when I registered with them and they did not offer a solution only fees to ship them back to vendors.

I have been going back and forth with them for over week now in order to repack my shipment and their claim they cannot repack footwear. I have bought my 2 shoes for 50usd and they want to charge me 163 USd for shipment, bunch of crooks.
Definitely I am going to shutdown my account.
Please don't deal with them.

Our policy do not allow the warehouse team to repack shoes. We have made it clear on our website as well under the FAQ- http://www.borderlinx.com/en/pages/faq/repacking-service

The reason behind the decision was the fact that original shoe box will get badly damaged without the outer box. Incase the box is damaged, customer is not able to return the items if necessary.

The shipping fee calculated is based on the weight of the shipment- dead weight or volumetric weight, which ever is heavier. This is again clarified on the website- http://www.borderlinx.com/pages/faq/volumetric-weight

We advise our customers to use our online Cost Calculator to get a shipping estimate prior to purchase to avoid this kind of situation. The calculated estimate will not vary much from the actual cost provided the inputs are correct.

A very dirty company play very dirty game! Look the overall review! 27 (5 stars) VS 77 (1 star---the worst)!

They actually will never post any items. They are stealing your things. They keep you items as hostage asking you pay endless bills!

Tax cost.

How borderlinx determine the tax before deliver the parcel. Seem like borderlinx simply charge the tax for my goods that arrive into their hub. Previous good with slightly higher cost weight price they never charge for tax. After that the goods with lower cost weight price they simply charge the higher tax. What a ridiculous calculation borderlinx use.

We need to understand how duty/tax are calculated. Many customers would relate it to just the item price and question how the duty/tax be what it is. We use a standard formula of calculation duty/tax on the CIF value which consist of Item price, Insurance and Freight. You may verify this with your customs as well. That's exactly how they calculate the applicable duty/tax. Additionally, our system is updated with the latest duty/tax rates of your customs and is not based on Borderlinx rates. The duty/tax applied is pass on to customs of your country during customs clearance which is handled by DHL only. This is the basis on which we are able to provide you much preferred Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) service that makes your shopping easy and convenient without any hassle.

Should you provide your Suite number, we can explain the calculation as well for both your shipment orders.

I have already contacted you around 9 times, and it is clear that you have sent my package to someone else and you are waiting for it to return, but you are not honest enough to admit it. It has been around two weeks now. SO FRUSTRATED

I totally agree with other reviews. Such bad experience and I completely regret using their service. They basically lost my package and kept lying about it telling me that the problem was solved and to check my account to confirm. And every time I contact them back they say please allow 1-2 days and NOTHING happens.

Once they actually sent shoes (that were supposed to go to a different country!) to one of my friends instead of some vitamin pills!

Demeaning service.

If you are a Brazilian customer intending to import stuff from all over the world, that's the website you should consider to legally and fast import them! Their integration with DHL makes all the process and interaction with Receita Federal go to a whole new level!

I dealt with Aramex shop and ship for many years and I had never faced this problems that I faced with Borderlinx, I was really frustrated from their attitude, i ordered a branded perfume from Amazon and suddenly I discoverd that it is prohibited to be shipped, they gave me the usual three choices and shipping back to Amazon will cost double the price of the perfume! Their customer chat agent was not good at all, ( Ruhul) he has nothing to say but this is our policy, as if we are stupid people. So it ended up by disposal of my perfume, maybe to one lucky person there! As if they are forcing for disposal of the item by putting high shipping rates. I will clear everything and will not deal with them again.

We regret you were in this difficult situation. We do not have license to deal with Hazardous items, and as such cannot ship anything that is considered Hazardous/Flammable as per IATA regulation.

Therefore, we have clearly listed that we cannot ship Perfume from our Hubs (US, Germany & HK), but do have the authority from UK Hub to some select countries.

I have never used this company and I get approximately 10-12 spam emails from them daily. I have unsubscribed at least a dozen times.

Unfortunately, you seem to be the target of a scam that has nothing to do with Borderlinx. Borderlinx has not sent any emails to you.

We have discovered that spam is being sent to a number of people by one or more individuals or entities who are wrongly and dishonestly using a Borderlinx tag line and a Borderlinx return address – obviously in an attempt to hide their identity.

We sympathize with your reaction to the unwanted emails. Thank you for sending us the sender’s email address; that will enable us to investigate and hopefully take action to stop the spam.

The only action we can think of at this time is for you to flag the email address(s) of the sender(s) of these spam messages as “junk mail” – then they should go into your spam folder.

For the record, Borderlinx does not send spam to anyone. We send email only to our customers who have established Borderlinx accounts and have affirmatively opted in to receive promotional mailings. They can opt out at any time.

Delt with them for over a year now before they stared charging me more compared to other companies. Not to talk about their long list of restricted Items which cost me over 300 $ and If you want to ship a prohibited item back it would cost you alot more. Staff is untrained and each employee will give you different opinion on any subject. It's like dealing with police. I remember one time I asked about a battery pack if it can be shipped to my country or no, one guy says yes another says no. Ended up buying it and paying 35$ to ship it to local address. Very slow Customer service. Took them a whole week to solve a single item issue and at the end I was right and item was not prohibited since it's just work out powder. The list goes on And On And On. My advice, Save your Self money and headache And find another company to ship your items these guys are not loyal to their customers. They lost me today and from the ratings here you can see that there is wrong in this company.

Dear Sayed, The battery policy keep changing as regulated by IATA and which is not in our control. Before we were able to ship the batteries below 100 WH, not its completely restricted under the new regulation. The policy applies across the airlines industry and not limited to Borderlinx. My own fault for not doing a ton of research, but just stay away. Be warned. Their shipping charges are extremely high. I have a small box that is 1.5LBS they want $65 to ship it and $50 for border fees on a $70 item. Stay far away from Borderlinx. Borderlinx is not good. Borderlinx is a scam. Is borderlinx a scam?

We provide an online Cost Calculator to get an estimate prior to purchase that give you a total landing cost. If you input correct information, the actual cost variance is minimum. We encourage our customers to use the same to avoid such situations; in most cases customers are not aware of the 'Volumetric Weight' which is applied for all air cargo.

Also, the shipping fee is based on the shipment weight- heavier of real weight or volumetric weight, and is not affected by the item price.
