Borderlinx wants two times more than an international shipment for a local hub. Didn't ever answer my questions on time, missed the period for returning the item to seller and finally disposed the item.

Avoid this so called company at all costs. Their list of "prohibited items" is by no means exhaustive and they will add (ie. Steal) things at will once they receive them.

Dear Prasong, We have an extensive list on prohibited items on the website.Its not possible to list complete items that are prohibited/restricted, as it would lead to millions of items, its not practicable. We regret if the policy was not clear, and you ended up shopping a restricted items. Being a freight forwarder we will always want to ship the items to you. We are sorry that you couldn't ship the items.

First of all let me just mentioned the name of one of borderlinx unproffesional Customer Service Representatives "SUMIT".
I had an issue with my parcel that contains a prohibited item. So i tried To seek for a solution by chatting with Borderlinx CSR Jaspal. He mentioned the prohibited item and gave me multiple solutions and said he would get back to me within 24 hrs.
The 24hrs had passed and there was no email, so i tried to chat with a CSR with the same issue id conversation (LTK*******101X) that i had with Jaspal. The subject was " advise on the parcel that contains prohibited item". Then this Sumit started typing and all i get is "DISPOSE". Wow really? Thats ur advise? I replied back by saying shouldnt u give me solutions like return to merchant or maybe send to a different address! But he responded very unprofessionally. I respect the policy and im fine with disposing prohibited items "been there" but the way it was "advised" to me was very wrong. At least the 1st CSR pretended to help.
Ive been dealing with boarderlinx for 2 years and i had never experienced such thing. Hope to hear of an action taken towards my issue!

Stay away from them. I know it sounds good when look at their website and call them. Before you ship an iltem to them they will be veery kind to you. I gave 3 chances to Borderlinx. Awful! First they lost iltem and it took 2 weeks for them to jnderstand that they lost it than I have to waut 1 week for them to just give me a promo code. Then I ship another iltem Borderlinx wirh tracking number and then they stepped on my pacakge and send it like that. I filed a claim -their customer service agents are very rude they dont want to solve things- with Gelna after 2 weeks she drop me an email sayin that they can only refund 28.55$ instead of 100$. I gave another chance to Borderlinx again - I think that I am stupid- then they again lost my iltem and then I contwcted them and the Hérmes telling me that it has been delivered to CWILLIAMS - he olso lost my first package- and then I contacted with them again they transferred my case to Subir he is only supervisor in whole company he is creating prolems he never wants solve this problem. Today they are telling me that CWILLIAMS is no working in their warehouse but there is a signutre image there! Hérmes is company they wont tell something not true. Stay away from them Really.

Had an awesome experience while shopping through Borderlinx from the USA. I had my share of doubts before trying them out- saw some negative reviews. After using them, I can now proudly recommend Borderlinx to all who want to shop from US. They are very professional, helpful and exceedingly fast.

They also have warehouses in UK, Germany and HK.

Already looking forward to use them again.

HORRIBLE

I created an account on this site for the sole purpose of writing a review about these thieves! They are by far the worst freight forwarder EVER created! Their staff is incompetent and they steal you left and right with illogical methods of calculating your order to maximize their revenue with the worse justifications ever! You buy a box which is 13cm x 13cm x 5cm, which weight nothing, they tell you based on the volumetric weight, this is 2 KILOS! You try to buy that, but then they continue, i bought on top of that 3 peaces of fabric which are 10 x 10 x 1, they calculated each one of those fabrics as half kilo each, and instead of then consolidating the items and taking the overall volumetric weight, which would still be 2 KILOS, they would sum up 2+0.5+0.5+0.5 generating a new 3.5 Kilos shipment, though these peaces of fabric sit on top of the 1st box not taking ANY volumetric space, nor adding any weight! For a small box of LEDs which cost me $10, and 6 fabrics which cost me around $15 total, they are asking for a whooping $70. Go figure! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Dear Adel, There is apparently big misunderstanding on your part as how Borderlinx works despite being explicitly explained on the website, FAQs, even in your account as you login.

Let me try to clarify your concern raised-

Volumetric weight concept is given under menu on the home page for every one's to see. http://www.borderlinx.com/pages/faq/volumetric-weight

It reads - "The cost of transporting a shipment can be affected by the amount of space that it occupies on an aircraft, rather than the actual weight. This is the volumetric (or dimensional) weight."

When you login to your account, we show you clearly the real weight and dimensions of the package so you can verify when you receive it at your address.

We have an online Cost Calculator on the home page to get an estimate prior to shopping with seller.

The statement just above the online cost calculator reads- "It is important to note that the shipping cost is based on the actual weight or volumetric weight - whichever is the greater. Volumetric weight is the size of the actual box in which the merchant packs your purchase, not the products themselves. Please click here for a detailed explanation of volumetric weight."

Also, under menu on the home page, we have clarified on our repacking policy-

"We only repack individual shipments. We do not merge two or more shipments into one. We do not repack all goods."

We regret that you were not aware of these basic information's about our services leading to your frustration now, it happens customer may over look them. We expect our customers to be aware of the process and policies we have in place to avoid this kind of misunderstanding about our services.

Borderlinx is filled with incompetent people who can do nothing to resolve any issue. Their website continues to list Apple and others that indeed will not send their products to freight forwarders. Their customer service representatives have no logical reasoning skills and are incapable of following any policy, including Borderlinx' own internal policies. I've been trying to get them to cancel my account and remove my details for weeks, and they told me to do it myself, but of course their website prevents that.

Recommend avoiding Borderlinx. There are better and more economical options out there.
Disgust and frustration is the main service Borderlinx provides.

Scam

Purchased an item to be delivered to australia. Estimate was $40. Once it arrived to be sent the cost was quoted as $200. Then we arranged for the item to be sent to a US address. Quoted $35 then after we paid were told they made a mistake and it will be $167. The original shipping cost was $13 to send it there.

Would suggest everyone avoid borderlinx

Dear Shelley, We are definitely not a scam. Some customers end up in similar situation because they do not consider the dimensions of the package in which the items will be delivered by the merchant. As you are aware in airlines, they consider both the real/dead weight and the volumetric/dimensional weight. The heavier weight will then be used to calculate the shipping fee. This is not only our way of calculating the shipping cost, but the industry standard. You can check with any international courier. Additionally, if you put the updated dimensions and weight of your package, the online cost calculator given on the website will result similar landing cost, which is not much different then actual cost applied.

We regret though that you find the shipping cost on the higher side. The return fee's are standard charges, but for over sized packages, the local shipping may be higher based on the cost it involved. However, customer can always arrange pick-up, or provide prepaid return label and they will not be charged the shipping fee.

If you are considering whether to use Borderlinx, please read my case.

I ordered a Hermes bag online and having it shipped from the Germany hub to my home. The shipment was sent out late, and after expressing my unhappiness, I was given a 30% refund of my shipping charges. After a long wait, the package finally arrived. But to my horror, it was another person's Hermes bag! My bag was sent to the other customer and the other customer's bag was sent to me! I am extremely mad about the mix-up. Many days have passed from the wrong delivery date to the package pick-up date for redelivery. I demand a compensation as Borderlinx cannot assure me that the bag is not used during the days when the bag was with the other customer. Another reason was, what if the bag when it is returned to me is a counterfeit bag? I am not an expert to assess a Hermes bag and I have to bear the responsibility? After days of stating my case and rationale through emails for days, the refund/compensation that I am getting is only the shipping charges that I have paid and a USD $50 voucher should I want to use Borderlinx service again. For your information, the bag costs 5 thousand plus Euro dollars and the compensation that I am getting is that pathetic.

As of now, I still haven't receive my correct package.

You can decide whether to use Borderlinx service.

Their service is great, from the moment they receive the shipment although it takes them some time to process. Then the release is good although its a bit more expensive that other competitor services. The shipment comes in relatively good quality regardless of the customs process which is out of borderlinx hands. However they should make sure somehow that their local delivery company extends their high quality: I have faced problems with updating address of delivery with DHL here in SA, delivering full shipments not partial delivery, Also non organization of delivery time and place

One small package weighing less than half a pound is costing over 70 CAD to ship from them to me? I've sent boxes that have weighed 10 pounds for half that price to the UK. Of course once it's there you really don't have a choice. I have books sent for 5 CAD dollars from the UK. Absolutely ridiculous prices to get your product and I won't be using again. Also to mention that is apparently with their 25 percent off shipping from UK to Canada. Just insane. Absolute robbery.

Dear Bri, The total landing cost is inclusive of shipping, duty/tax. We do the paper work and customs clearance thereby giving you a more hassle free shopping. Additionally, we use DHL- one of the best courier in the industry. Deliveries are fulfilled generally within 3-4 business days. Most courier you use will take much longer, and uses the cheaper couriers like USPS etc and duty/tax is payable on delivery.

Considering all the aspect, our service and rate is very reasonable.

I specially told them not to open/repack my shipment and even contacted customer support to ask if it's mandatory. They told me they won't unless I set my account to repack them, which I didn't and made sure it was set to no.
Their service isn't cheap either. So beware.

Won't be using them again. Ever.

Dear Babar,

All packages we receive at the hub may be opened for initial inspection so that:

1. We can pull out the seller invoice to update the item details to your account
2. We can inspect if the item received is prohibited/dangerous to ship
3. We can inspect if the item received is in good condition and not damaged.

This does not mean we will open the inner packages, which we don't do. We will open the outer box, inspect it, and reseal it. Inspecting of packages is very important and unavoidable as we need to be sure what we are shipping and ensure we are abiding by the rule book of customs- import/export and IATA (airlines)

The preference option you are referring is about repacking- to reduce the package dimensions in order to bring down the shipping cost. You can choose the option to Repack (if possible) or Not. This is again absolutely Free service.

Hope it clears the misunderstanding. Regret any inconvenience caused though.

Bad Communication

For the 3rd day after register at borderlinx, i tried to use their US/UK Hubs, but when my shipment arrived, i can't pay borderlinx to ship it to me, i contact them through live chat and they said need few days to solve it because i can't pay using my debit card, but my debit card works fine on another website, today is sunday, i think about 5 6 days but still no answers from borderlinx, while i need my shipment urgently for Dad Birthday, I recomended stay away from this forwarding company, i wouldn't say my debit card problem while i can pay it everwhere online shopping website, and i'm not using another people credit/debit card to pay borderlinx for my shipment!

I used Borderlinx to forward packages from few US retailers and it always worked as advertised. I started using their UK, Germany and Hong Kong hubs nowadays. I receive promo codes monthly from 10% to 20%.

I used their concierge to book my oculus and delivered on time. Great service.
They even waived my Storage fees once. Helpful customer service

Easy to use, great shipping rates, and email notifications on each step of the arrival & dispatch of my packages.

I read many bad reviews about the company. Personally these people except cheap service and find the cost is high. I ship at-least 20 shipments in a month, which saves me a lot. Free repacking, free consolidation, no registration fees, promo codes and 30 days free storage. Don't except more when they give many things freely.

Damn Awesome Thing

I'm a business man, although so many bad reviews. But I don't give damn. I love the service. Before I came here I had to get items shipped myself, had to contact a lot of shippers etc. then the Indian Custom officers, never understanding, never responding. I'm glad about this service, I can literally leave the custom clearance to them, they are wonder guys, I do not know how do they handle customs, but whatever they do at least they get me my items, sometimes bit late but most of the time surprisingly fast. Within local delivery a lot of merchants get me items in 5-6 days, it is amazing to find that Borderlinx could get me packages from international borders in that same 5-6 days. Really grateful to Borderlinx. Where Have You Been My Whole Life. My father who is a retired engineer from BHEL says that only if this service had been there during his time then whole BHEL would have been using this service to get small machine parts built in Germany. They themselves wouldn't have to go to Germany to get them.
One last suggestion, for Boederlinx, I wish they had an app so that I can use the service anytime on the go.
