I bought a bicycle at a cost 138 USD from amazon. Internal shipping cost to my suite is around 98 USD. Estimated shipping to India is around 368 USD. Taxes and duties in india is 138 USD. You can understand. And above all I dont know if I get this in one piece. So buy light weight and low volume occupying items only using borderlinx.
Would give 0 if possible. Worst shopping experience ever. Company policy is send it ALL back or destroy items cant just return the one item that is wrong (bought several items off Amazon.com). Customer support is in India so takes forever to get responses and they actually cant help with anything they then have to relay messages to the warehouse in USA or UK. Shipping charges are very high (watch the volumic weight nonsense they sting you on that. If estimated goods are over $250 they force a $10 insurance fee on you. Items took a long time to arrive. Taking by business elsewhere suggest you save yourself the grief and do the same.
At the onset, the price is ridiculous. It's worth almost as much as the item to be shipped. But I thought, it's okay I just want a reliable courier service. Boy was I wrong! Not to mention that the package was delivered more than a week pass the expected day of delivery, the local courier asked me for an additional 3,480 Yen! That's on top of the enormous amount already charged to me by Borderlinx. So NO! Borderlinx is expensive, inefficient, and a SCAM!

We can assure you that all deliveries are fulfilled within 2-3 business days via our Experss shipping, and 4-6 business days via the Standard shipping. Occassionally, customs office in destination country may hold the items for extended period which can delay the deliveries. Unfortunately, such delays are not within our control nor DHL, as we cannot expedite or interfere in the matters of customs.
In regards to the extra charges, all our shipments are shipped as Delivery Duty Paid (DDP), which means you pay the shipping, duty/tax (as applicable) upfront to Borderlinx, and we will prepare the customs paper and clear the customs on your behalf, and you do not have to pay any charges on delivery. This is in line to provide you with a completely hassle free shopping experience through our services.
In very rare cases, due to mis-communication with local DHL, you might be asked to pay the duty/tax again. However, we'll always take such issue promptly and will coordinate with local DHL to clear the shipment at no extra cost to you.

Borderlinx used to be an efficient service however, support and operations are now highly flaky, repacking service is arbitrarily. High chance of parcels being delayed due to processing errors and/or excessive shipping charges.
Recently, one parcel was delayed for weeks because they 'thought the box was empty', another was not only delayed but they arbitrarily refused to repack the items, leading to a huge shipping cost.
Support is non-existent. Phone support spams you with calls, but when you pick up and it buzzes and hangs up on you. Email support is slow and incredibly inefficient - it takes weeks to resolve the simplest issues.
There is no reason to tolerate this kind of service - direct shipping is faster and often cheaper
Con artists! Advertise consolidation and repacking but don't. Cost me more to use them than to have goods shipped direct. DO NOT USE. You will be scammed.
I recently used Borderlinx to purchase a few items from Ebay. When my packages arrived they notified me and consolidated my items. It saved my loads of money. Buying in Malaysia is so expensive.
I have to be honest, I was a bit worried about using borderlinx. After shipping 2 times with them I couldn't be happier. I received both my items on time. I saved money using borderlinx over buying locally in Singapore.
Stay away from these guys at all costs. Despite the impressive website, they're in fact a bunch of incompetents and a hoax. They run promotions via their own website to get you in and then claim the promo codes have expired and you're uneligilble to claim them. Customer service is lazy and unresponsive. I regret having ever used them and urge you not to bother.

Dont trust this bunch! I had a disagreement with a seller on ebay. The resolution was closed in my favour. The seller contacted borderlinx (as this was the postal address) and they suspended my account?
THEY ALSO SUPPLIED THE SELLER WITH SENSITIVE INFORMATION ABOUT MY BUSINESS WITHOUT MY AUTHORITY.
THIS HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!
I had already paid and received the parcels in the UK and had NEVER made any claim.
Their pathetic "offshore" customer service believed that they had some sort of moral standing ground about how the seller had been treated?
It is absolutely pathetic.
If I want to be treated like a criminal it would be over more than a $9 GPS.

Borderlinx is horrible. They are just out there to fleece. Promise fair charges and then ask for USD 142 for shipping 3.5 lbs to Oman. Couldn't be worse. They say that they repack to save but then estimated volumetric weight to be 5 times the actual and then said that it is also not possible to reduce.
Would ask everyone to completely stay away from them.
I really should've read reviews about this business. They lure you in with promises of competitive prices and "no big surprises" but they end up screwing you over.
Customer service was terrible. The rep (Jeannina or something), was rude for no reason. She kept being passive-aggressive and copy+pasting the same thing over and over again even if it did not have relevance whatsoever to the issue at hand.
The total shipping cost more than the items to be shipped. Item total cost was $37.59. Total shipping cost from Borderlinx to me? $62.56. Absolutely absurd. And to think the point of choosing a website such as Borderlinx was to lessen the burden of having over-the-top shipping costs.
Their rates are way expensive! When I asked why they claimed "Oh we use the fastest and most reliable service, DHL"... I used DHL, Aramex and TNT locally in Kuwait and I know for sure that DHL is not the fastest or reliable... Borderlinx will charge you way expensive rates where you can get the same service with any other courier co. I personally used borderlinx twice and then went back to using another shipping co which offers real FAST and RELIABLE services for a very REASONABLE price.
Even though I think Borderlinx's use of DHL is a good choice since I can get the goods from the US to HK within 3 days, their processing time is a bit slow. just now, I had my package delivered to borderlinx at 9am in their time but the goods only appeared on my suite at borderlinx at 4 or 5pm. I wanted to ship it before the weekend starts but I am not going to be awake at 4am in HK time to do that.
also, the cost of shipping is too expensive. i have opted for repackaging but they have only repackaged the clothing from amazon but not the goods from kate spade. the volumatric kg for kate spade ended up being huge despite it consist of one accessory and 3 wallet...i dont know how the original package arrived (i will find out soon) but it must be packaged very inefficiently. when they already know what i already bought, shouldnt it be their responsibility to repack so i can save on the cost. so, the total cost for shipping turned out to be usd100. basically, i didnt enjoy much saving. last time i shipped shoes and a bag and the total cost was not as high, being about usd 70.
anyway, i now will no longer use borderlinx and switch to comgateway. at least, i will save on the usa tax since comgateway is at oregon but borderlinx is at ohio.
very unhappy with the recent shipment being charged a hopping usd 100 for essentially no repackaging of goods....
These other reviews gave me a fright after I had shipped goods from eBay to their US address. However, while the web site is a bit ropey (use Internet Explorer) I got my engine part in London about 3 days after Borderlinx got it from the eBay seller. It's not cheap but I saved a fortune buying the engine part in the US.
It is total crap. They repeatedly ask for the same information, insist that their address format works on a site when it really doesn't. Then, they insist that they tried it and it works when in fact the only way to see if it really works is to place a complete order. Then they say that the items have been delivered when they haven't. It is horrible - it may be cheaper, but it is not work the bloody headaches and the hours wasted trying to get to the bottom of their misinformation.
I guess all these people giving positive reviews are employees or their relatives lol
I had a really bad experience plus charges came up sky high. Not to mention the site looks amateur. Only positive thing is that CS seemed very quick in their responses.
I have a bad experience with this provider, (1) Wrong Communication - Said the stuffs was shipped early, but one week later will told me it is not shipped. (2) Shipment fees - I paid twice of the additional shipments, and stuffs are still not shipped. (3) Escalated to their management - no respond and reply.
Still have $800 of dollars of items stuffs with them.

I purchased a parcel on 1/1/14 from a US merchant who did ship to Australia but had extremely high shipping prices. Decided to use Borderlinx as, based on the weight of my package, they were supposedly a much cheaper option. I understood they also considered volumetric weight but my parcel was not very large (two shirts and a small duffel bag) so I figured this would not increase the price too much.
No begins the hell story - they received my package and I went to pay for it to be re-shipped to Australia. Their 'budget' option was going to cost $150 USD to ship. $150! The items I had purchased only just cost that much, so it went from being an estimated $200 purchase including shipping to almost $400. Beyond RIDICULOUS. I contacted customer service via email and they never responded so decided to internet chat with a customer service rep. He gave me a scripted 'volumetric weight costs extra, this is airline standard etc etc' response and said my only option was to get a return to merchant authorisation and pay $35 to return to sender (who is also based in the same Ohio area as Borderlinx). Long story short the merchant does not issue the return authorisation so I was forced to pay the $160 fee for my parcel.
The issue I have with Borderlinx is that in no way does should my parcel have cost $160 to ship. This is a complete RIP OFF - I have shipped very similar parcels via airmail with USPS before and it has cost under $50. If I had gone with the merchant's shipping option it would have cost me $60 - $70. So how does a re-shipping company, which should be able to get competitive shipping rates for customers, charge $100 extra than the norm to ship a parcel?
I also knew the weight and $ value of may parcel before I committed to using Borderlinx. According to their cost calculator it should have only cost me $40 to send to Australia which is quite normal and a lot cheaper than the merchant's options. Volumetric weight is a total SCAM, a consumer cannot possibly know the volumetric weight/ dimensions of their package before they receive it. Borderlinx doesn't 're-pack' your items if they are already in a box e.g. shoes in a shoebox, they just change the external packaging. If I had these items posted through USPS, Australia Post, DHL etc they would charge me on how heavy the item was and not 'volumetric weight.'
DO NOT make the mistake of using this company to ship your items. Do your research and find a more reputable site which offers a competitive rate and if your merchant offers shipping - go with that instead.
Ordered an Ipod touch, boxed in certified 32lbs/inch edge crush test packaging from merchant but Borderlinx put it in plastic DHL envelope and then charged me $60 based on the envelope size and said the original packaging was not suitable. I have sent several emails including images but they are just basically ignored. $#*!ty customer service and generally a dodgy way of doing business. Going back to Shop n Ship with Aramex!

Answer: Short answer is yes. Longer answer is that they will not consolidate and charge you a premium on the shipping charges. Use them only if you have no alternative.

Appreciate your feedback. We would like to clarify that the concept of dimensional or volumetric weight is used across the airfreight industry for international shipments. It's not just DHL or Borderlinx that uses this concept but by all international couriers like FedEx, UPS, USPS etc.
Therefore, The cost of transporting a shipment can be affected by the amount of space that it occupies on an aircraft, rather than the actual weight. This is the volumetric (or dimensional) weight.
